Lead in for Six Sentence Sunday for Chasing Miss Kringle (wk 3)

For Six Sentence Sunday, I’m sharing an excerpt from my story ‘Chasing Miss Kringle’ (found within Evernight Publishing’s holiday anthology – Stockings & Suspenders) over the course of six weeks.
1 of 6:
“You’re the only one left, Jack.”
Victor’s request had to be some kind of joke. Yet the rigid set of his wide shoulders and straight face told me otherwise. Disbelieving what I’d just heard, I continued to stare at my PI partner and friend. What did Vic mean he wanted me to track down an elf? There were serious cases to work on, like helping my buddies in Metro track down a couple of high end thieves.
2 of 6:
Suicides and thefts. The holiday season. What a great time of year.
“I’m not in the mood to be toyed with, Vic. So, let me get this straight,” I stated with more calm than I felt. Being side-tracked from important matters was a pet peeve of mine.

Stay tuned for the next six lines coming up in a few minutes.
Happy Reading!

Wild West Weekend by C.R. Moss & RM Sotera
Two brothers... Two best friends... One... Wild West Weekend
Two people scared to love again. Two others hesitant about commitment. A weekend in Nevada will change all that.
Bristol Ashcombe is swearing off men and taking a vacation with her friend, Cassie. Damon Dougan is packed and ready to leave the ranch for a trip, that is, until a long-legged, sexy woman steps out of a vehicle and he decides to stay. Will one sex filled weekend be enough for either of them?
Cassie Harding travels to the Double D ranch, to meet Bristol and looks forward to seeing her old friend, Dakota. Dak’s excited when Cassie, his former sweetheart, returns. Cassie and Dakota, though they’re heating up ‘the sheets’ in and out of the bedroom, have fears about commitment after years of being single. Will they find it’s better to dance together than apart?

Welcome Special Guest: Lee Ann Sontheimer Murphy ( @leeannwriter )

In life most of us wear multiple hats and bear many titles.  I became a daughter, granddaughter, niece, sister and cousin just by being born.  When I married, I added wife to my list, one already expanded at various times in my life with student, graduate, employee, columnist, teacher, freelancer, mother, aunt, and writer.   In late 2010 I added author to the list with the publication of my first book and I end 2011 with a total of ten plus some assorted novellas and a number of short stories divided between print, websites, and in anthologies.  The one title consistent throughout my life, however, and perhaps the one defining me most is writer.
I made up stories long before I could either read or write.  At the age of three my mother made a brief effort to write down one of my stories but the attempt fell apart.   In my fifth grade year, writing little stories when I should be doing school work became my norm but during that year, I also wrote my first novel in blue Bic ink pen on lined notebook paper.  During high school I wrote other novels, probably all terrible but the few friends I allowed to read my efforts praised them.  During my college years, spent on two different campuses, my professors, classmates and friends praised my work.  I wrote for the campus newspaper, the literary magazine, and worked as a tutor for the English department.  Upon graduation I eventually nailed a job working a radio station as an advertising copywriter.  In my spare time, I began writing both non-fiction articles as well as short fiction.  I managed to sell a few and in time, I earned a small reputation as a writer in some circles.
Novels were always the end goal, though, the thing I longed to write and so one day I realized if I didn’t do it, I might never accomplish the dream.  At the time I decided to get serious, I had twin two-year old daughters underfoot and my frazzled days lacked much ‘me time’ but I got started.  I wrote the first novels on an old word processor incompatible with Word and when I got serious about submission, I realized my work needed more polish so I rewrote them on a computer.
When I did begin to submit I didn’t take the literary world or reading public by storm.  I got rejected, many times and for multiple works but I didn’t give up.  By then I had an infant son to add to the family dynamic but when my twins started school and my son joined them, I took full advantage of more time.   I spent a couple of years in the classroom as a substitute teacher but when the sub calls began to dwindle, I focused on novels.  Some I rewrote multiple times and I took a chance on the new phenomenon of eBooks when I submitted to that market.  Again, I earned a few rejections but one day I opened my email to find both acceptance and a contract.
That happened in July of 2010 and the first acceptance had a target date of one year.  It seemed like a very long time so I kept writing.  By then I had several novels written, somewhat edited, and so I shopped off another.  It was accepted.  So I kept right on writing, sending, and signing contracts.  I branched out to more than one publisher and wrote.  I began 2011 with one published book and the number grew to include my Love Covenant series and all the other novels.  And I’ll start 2012 with five contracts for novels from Rebel Ink Press upcoming and a novella from Champagne Books.
And I learned just what the life of an author entails.  For most of us, it’s not appearances on daytime talk shows or dinner at Tavern on the Green or jetting off to LA to discuss movie rights.  There aren’t any paparazzi outside my front door and I’m not rich.   I work longer, harder hours than I ever have in my life and I learned fast that promotion is vital if you want to succeed.
But people read my books and enough like them they keeping buy another.  Some of my books earn awesome reviews and I’m humbled by that fact.   People in the small town where I live recognize me in the supermarket and in other spots.   One of the most recent telling events to indicate word of my novels is spreading is when a relative, who lives far away from me in a larger metro area, printed off something of mine from online and passed it around the office.
A co-worker glanced at it and shrugged her shoulders and said, “Oh, her? Yeah, I read her.”
My cousin said, “Well, she’s my cousin.”
His co-worker, knowing how well he loves to tease and joke said, “Yeah, right, sure.”
“No, really, she’s my cousin,” he told her and showed her his father’s name within the essay, a distinctive and uncommon last name.
Her eyes grew wide and round as she realized an author she’d read and whose books she enjoyed connected to her co-worker, kind of a Kevin Bacon Six Degrees moment.
So I’m a writer and an author.  Writing defines me.  It’s like breathing – I need it to exist but after many years, the rest of the world notices it too.

Welcome special guest: author Karyn Gerrard ( @KarynGerrard )

Today we have author Karyn Gerrard visiting. Her bio: Living in a small town in a corner of Ontario, Canada, I wile away my spare time writing, reviewing and reading romance. As long as I can avoid being hit by a runaway moose here in this wilderness paradise, I assume everything is golden. Originally from the east coast of Canada, I love to set my some of stories in the Maritime Provinces~Happily married for a long time to my own hero, a teacher that braves everything that is thrown at him. His encouragement keeps me moving forward.

* So, Karyn, what inspired you to become a writer?
I like to consider myself a storyteller first and foremost. I was the 12 year old at Girl Guide (Scout in the US) camp telling horror stories off the cuff around the campfire. In my teens, I started putting these stories to paper. Unfortunately, life got in the way and I didn't write for decades. A voracious reader, I only started reading romance about five years ago and started writing it at least three years ago. Imagine my shock at having a life-long dream come true. being published. Goes to show it's never too late to pursue your dreams.
* When did you attempt your first story? What length was it? What's become of it?
My first story was a historical at about 70,000 words. I sent it to a print publisher about 3.5 years ago. It was rejected, but they told me the story was good, just didn't fit their guidelines. It is in my editing queue. A large part of it needs to be reworked. That rejection letter gave me the fortitude to keep going. Someday, I will send it out again.
* How many stories did you complete before you sold your first?
I had three complete novel length manuscripts completed before I sold my first novella. Again, these three are in the queue, lol! I have a lot of serious editing to do, no mistake.
* What genre(s) do you write in? What drew you to write in it/them? What’s your favorite genre of all to write in?
So far I have a time travel, a paranormal and a contemporary published, I like to spread it around. I don't plan to write in any one genre. Historical fascinates me the most. I love the research when doing historical or historical characters. I also love the tortured heroes in paranormals. Ah hell, I love tortured heroes, period.
* What are the best and worst pieces of writing advice you ever received?
I don't know if I have ever received bad advice, if I did, I probably dismissed it. Besides the standard "write about what you know", the good advice was just get the story down, type 'the end', then goes back and edit. It is good advice. I follow it to the letter.
* How do you celebrate/deal with acceptance/rejection letters?
I haven't had that many of either yet, but I will say the second and third acceptances of contracts was just as exciting as the first! The rejection letter I did get, I handled it better than I thought I would. It was a nice letter; at least they didn't say I sucked. I usually open a bottle of wine (white) to celebrate a contract offer at least that is what I have been doing so far!
* In regard to the book you’re promoting, which actor and actress do you envision playing the roles of your hero and heroine? If there’s a villain or other characters who are pertinent to the story, who would play those parts?
Oh great question. I see Naomi Watts in a dark wig for my heroine, but she may be too attractive. My heroine borders on plain, but that doesn't matter in the movies!
For the hero, since Lucius Black is 6'5, I am going with Jared Padalecki from TV's Supernatural. Dye his hair black and he would be perfect.
My strong secondary character Wolfram, I see Henry Cavill in that role, though Henry is starting to get big movie roles, playing second fiddle may not appeal to him!

* The book you’re promoting, is it a stand-alone story or part of a series? If it’s part of a series, please list the order the books need to be read in for maximum reading enjoyment.
Well, I do have two sequels finished, if I ever get around to editing them and submitting, I hope they will see the light of day. The second story is about Lucius' half-vampire father and the third is about Lucius full-blood vampire grandfather. Editing and submitting these are on my to-do list in the new year.
*** Now for some fun info… ***
* What’s your favorite color?
Green! Must be the Irish in me.
* What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
Butterscotch Ripple
* Are you a morning person or night owl?
I am sooooo not a morning person, for at least two hours when I get up, I am the walking dead. Until I drink copious amounts of tea.

*** About the book … ***
BLACK LUST BLURB:   Lucius Black lives a debauched and wild nightlife. Being a ‘Quarter’ (1/4 vampire), blood and sex are what he is. However, his existence wears thin after a century of hedonistic pleasure.
Trevina Patterson lives a quiet, happy life running a hair salon in a village on the east coast of the United Kingdom. It was a perfect life and all she could ask for, until a chance encounter with Lucius Black.
What was it about him that was so unsettling and yet so attractive?
For Lucius, no woman had ever been enough, until Trevina. She awakened in him feelings he had not thought possible. Passions considered by him to be little more than vampiric mythology. She awakened his...black lust.
CAN BUY AT:  http://www.evernightpublishing.com/black-lust-by-karyn-gerrard/

I had fun setting up my Shadow World, and I hope to continue with this series, lots of possibilities and directions I can go. One little tidbit, this was originally for a Halloween Anthology submission, Evernight said it would work better as a novella or novel. They were absolutely right. I expanded it from 9000 words to 28,000 and resubmitted and it was accepted!

Happy to announce ~ Another contract! ( @crmoss @DecadentPub #SO )

I'm happy to announce I received my second contract through Decadent Publishing this morning for my second 1NS story! Yay!
My next 1NS story is titled ~ Sunset Seduction ~ and takes place in a hotel room in Las Vegas. ;) Here's the blurb for it -
One evening. One date. Easy, right?
Heather Tramonto, a business woman with only her career and a quickie on her mind, is all set for her 1NS date and a bit of adult fun–no conditions, no commitment–when a surprise shows up at her door.
Lane Stanwyck is entering the dating world after years of an estranged marriage and the passing of his hostile wife. When Madame Eve schedules an anonymous tryst for him–no conditions, no commitment–he believes it to be the perfect arrangement for his first time out in the dating field in ages. That is until he sees the woman of his dreams.
One night. No strings. That might be a problem for this pair.

Keep watch here for updates on the Sunset stories!

My first 1NS story is scheduled for release in the beginning of February.
Here's info on Sunset Desires -
A blind date. A hot tropical evening. She’ll be someone he can’t forget. He’ll fulfill her ultimate fantasy.
Gwendolyn Tramonto is stunned to learn her cousin set her up with sex on the beach and it’s not the drink. But after a several year dry spell of no relationships, no dates…no sex, Gwen decides to take her cousin up on her offer and go out on the blind date. For once, she’d like to indulge in a fantasy, be wined and dined instead of the other way around, and if she and the man ended up in bed together, that would be a nice bonus.
Evan Cadell is looking forward to the date his uncle arranged for him through an exclusive matchmaking service and taking a one night break from work, life and all its demands. From Gwen’s profile, Evan knows what her fantasy is and believes he’s the man who can make it come true.
But will one night in paradise be enough to satisfy their desires?

Welcome special guest: author Jezebel Jorge ( #FF @WitchLitChick )

Today we have author Jezebel Jorge visiting. She’s a practicing witch and medium who embraces both the light and dark sides of the craft. She never knows where a story is going to go when she sits down to write it. Jezebel just listens to the voices and lets them take over from there.

* So, Jezebel, what inspired you to become a writer?
I've dabbled in writing all my life, but I got serious with it in 2007 and joined my local RWA Chapter Music City Romance Writer's in early 2008. My first novel Headlocks & Hexes was released in October of 2011.
* When did you attempt your first story? What length was it? What's become of it?
I wrote the first draft of Headlocks & Hexes as escapism from an abusive relationship with a brain damaged pro wrestler. I would take the dogs, lock myself up in the bedroom, and write out all my frustrations. I guess that's why Rowan is such an anti-heroine. After many, many, many rewrites it comes out to about 97,000 words. I decided to go indie with the story after two bad experiences with different epublishers. Headlocks & Hexes is available in ebook format from both Amazon and Barnes & Noble and I will be having a print release in 2012.
* How many stories did you complete before you sold your first?
The first story I sold was Hot for Teacher. It's an erotic short story in a spanking anthology with Accent Press. It was actually a scene I cut from Headlocks & Hexes and features two of its characters, Courtney and Bryson (he goes by his first name of Darren in that story).
* What genre(s) do you write in? What drew you to write in it/them? What’s your favorite genre of all to write in?
I like to call my genre Witch Lit. Spicy erotica with an authentic Pagan voice.
* What are the best and worst pieces of writing advice you ever received?
The best is to just keep writing from your heart. The worst mistake I've made was trying to write to sell instead of writing what I love.
* How do you celebrate/deal with acceptance/rejection letters?
Pizza and alcohol work in both situations.
* In regard to the book you’re promoting, which actor and actress do you envision playing the roles of your hero and heroine? If there’s a villain or other characters who are pertinent to the story, who would play those parts?
Rowan from my Ring Dreams series would definitely be a red-haired Amanda Seyfreid. I saw her in Chloe and knew right then that was my Rowan.
Dylan - that turned out to be a nightmare with the first publisher. In my 3 pages of cover art details I specifically asked that he not be put on the cover because I couldn't image a guy ever living up to my Dylan. I get the cover back and their is some guy with stringy long blond hair hovering over what I guess was supposed to be Rowan, but looked old enough to be her grandmother. Seriously, he looked like a stalker or serial killer. I literally threw up on my keyboard. It gave me an IBS attack that had me in the ER with a morphine drip freshly inserted when I got the email that I could, thank Goddess, have my rights back. Scary cover guy was a total nightmare.

* The book you’re promoting, is it a stand-alone story or part of a series? If it’s part of a series, please list the order the books need to be read in for maximum reading enjoyment.

Headlocks & Hexes is the first book in my Ring Dreams series, Desire is a Ring Dreams Retro since I go back in time to tell the story of how Dylan and Bryson's father, Billy Dalton, met their mother. Billy was such a scene stealer I had to give him his own story. Seances and Suplexes will be released on February 14th and it's the sequel to the first book.

I also have a short story, Snow Angel, featuered in Evernight Publishing's Stockings & Suspenders 2011 Holiday Anthology.

*** Now for some fun info… ***
* What’s your favorite color?
Orange - I see it as a color of intense positive energy. When Odessa shields me she always uses orange instead of white light.
* What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?

Reeces Cup
* Are you a cat, dog or both kind of person?
Dog - I have a 99.9 lb. Golden Retriever / Great Pyrenees mix named Harry Potter.
* Would you/have you own(ed) a snake or some other exotic pet?
My spirit guide Odessa loves her some snakes. I'm not quite as enchanted with them. We have a black rat snake named Marat that summers under our balcony.
* Which do you prefer: rain or sun & warm weather or cold weather?
I adore a late night thunderstorm.
* Are you a morning person or night owl?
I'd like to be a night owl, but as long as I have to keep working a day job I have to be up by six am to get my dog walked. I also get to work an hour early to sneak in some writing time and avoid getting stuck in downtown Nashville traffic.
* What’s your favorite day of the week?
Saturday when I can be alone with the voices running amok inside my head.
* What’s your favorite number?
3 for mind, body, and spirit
* If you could live anywhere in the universe, where would it be and why?
I love it here in Nashville. I belong to a great writers group and there is a strong Pagan community in the area.
New Orleans is my favorite place to visit. I hoping to eventually see Tombstone, AZ and Salem, MA.

* If you were stranded on a desert island and were only allowed to have five modern conveniences with you, what would they be?
My MacBook, Kindle Fire, Nook, and hopefully a power source. And, of course my dog since I can't go anywhere without him.

*** About the book(s)/series… ***
I have purchase links up for all my books on my webpage. I wrote Snow Angel when Carolyn Rosewood posted the submission call on our MCRW group. I was working on a YA project and decided to take a week off to write something fun and spicy. The weird thing is I guess I built the story around one of my favorite dog sitting clients. Just like in the story, Marvey is an Olde English Bulldog and a total diva. She shook her booty big time when I told her she was going to get to be in one of my stories.

Thank you for joining us here today, Jezebel! It was a pleasure getting to know you and your work.

Welcome special guest: author Tom Mach @kansasauthor

Today we have author Tom Mach visiting. Tom wrote two successful historical novels, Sissy! and All Parts Together, both of which have won rave reviews and were listed among the 150 best Kansas books in 2011. Sissy! won the J. Donald Coffin Memorial Book Award while All Parts Together was a viable entrant for the 2007 Pulitzer Prize Award. He also wrote a collection of short stories entitled Stories To Enjoy which received positive reviews. Tom’s other novels include: An Innocent Murdered, Advent, and Homer the Roamer.
His poetry collection, The Uni Verse, won the Nelson Poetry Book Award. In addition to several awards for his poetry, Writer’s Digest awarded him ninth place in a field of 3,000 entrants.

* So, Tom, what inspired you to become a writer?

The more I read, the more I wanted to write. I enjoy writing because it gives me a chance to clear my head, recall impressions, and dig deep into my soul.
* When did you attempt your first story? What length was it? What's become of it?
When I was 18 and still in high school I wrote a 378-page novel called The Boss’s Son--using a portable typewriter with carbon paper underneath each page! I thought my novel was great at the time but as I look at it now and realize it’s crap. It’s sitting in my office as an unpublished antique.
* How many stories did you complete before you sold your first?
Several, but who’s counting? I sold my first story to an editor for the Meredith Sun, a newspaper chain South Bay, California. She paid me $25 for each one and I kept sending her something every week until one day she told me to stop. I asked why and she said my writing was good enough to send to magazines. I did that and kept writing for magazines. My attempt at full length books came later.
* What genre(s) do you write in? What drew you to write in it/them? What’s your favorite genre of all to write in?
I’ve written two historical novels, a techno-thriller, a children’s chapter book, a murder mystery, and a collection of short stories. Historical fiction, because I have a deep interest in the 19th century….a techno-thriller, because as a former chemical engineer I have knowledge in the scientific realm…a children’s book, because I spend some of my free time in tutoring young children to write…a murder mystery, because I love TV shows like Columbo and Monk as well as whodunit novels such as those by Agatha Christie…and short stories because they unleash my creativity.  My all-time favorite genre, however, is historical.
* What are the best and worst pieces of writing advice you ever received?
The worst piece was to simply write anything, even garbage, but just write because that will release your inner muse. (That doesn’t work for me).  The best piece of advice was to stay focused on your characters--get into their minds and really understand them, don’t force them to do things they refuse to do.
* How do you celebrate/deal with acceptance/rejection letters?
Acceptance and rejection develop short term emotions. I actually don’t mind rejection letters if they give me a clue as to how to improve my writing. I abhor form rejection slips that are meaningless slips of paper.  Acceptance letters give me a short-term high, but my longer term high is getting so involved with writing a story that you don’t want to quit.
* In regard to the book you’re promoting, which actor and actress do you envision playing the roles of your hero and heroine? If there’s a villain or other characters who are pertinent to the story, who would play those parts?
I could envision seeing Tom Hanks playing Detective Matt Gunnison in An Innocent Murdered because there’s a  hidden softness behind his persona. I could also see Reese Witherspoon playing the part of the ex-nun Susan Stratford because there is a wonderful innocence in her face.
* The book you’re promoting, is it a stand-alone story or part of a series? If it’s part of a series, please list the order the books need to be read in for maximum reading enjoyment.
Actually, I wrote An Innocent Murdered as a stand-alone story, but I so much like Detective Matt Gunnison that I am thinking of the possibility of writing another murder mystery in which he again plays the lead role.

*** Now for some fun info… ***
* What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?

Chocolate. I am thinking of joining Chocoholics Anonymous.
* Are you a cat, dog or both kind of person?
I’m a cat when I get lazy and don’t feel like writing, but I’m an attack dog when I get to my computer.
* Are you a morning person or night owl?
Yawn. I’m a morning person. I like to beat the sunrise.

*** About the book… ***

AN INNOCENT MURDERED Book Blurb:
Father O'Fallon has been murdered, and police officer Jacinta Perez is arrested and charged. Detective Matt Gunnison, however, is not convinced and with the help of Susan, an ex-nun, he discovers a fascinating link between the priest's death and the death of a child 25 years ago. Will Matt be able to solve both murders? See video: http://t.co/H1siZOg
~ Excerpt ~

“What’s critically important here,” Matt said, “is the time this event happened. Mr. Zylinski, you said you knew it was about 9:13 pm when this occurred. How would you know that?”
“It’s all in the deposition, sir,” the man replied. “I checked my watch just before I got to my car. I had to be somewhere at ten and didn’t want to be late.”
The attorney leaned forward, a smile on her face. “I am sure you learned by now, Mr. Gunnison, that the bank clock was correct after all. During the day, that clock was not set back an hour for daylight savings time, but it was corrected by the bank manager at 6:00 that evening. So it really was 9:13 after all.”
Matt was a bit miffed at her know-it-all attitude. “Thank you for pointing that out to me, counselor.”

Six Sentence Sunday ~ Chasing Miss Kringle ~ 1 ( @evernightpub #sixsunday @6_Sunday )

#1 of Six Sentences over six weeks from 'Chasing Miss Kringle.'

Welcome special guest: author Adonis Devereux ( @AdonisDevereux @evernightpub )

Today we have author Adonis Devereux visiting. We are a husband-wife writing team living in Japan. We're Americans, and we have six daughters. We've been married 14 years, and though we've both individually loved stories, we just started writing together about four years ago.

* So, Adonis, what inspired you to become a writer?
The love of stories and wanting to read stories that did not yet exist. So, we will write those stories; we will build those worlds.
* When did you attempt your first story? What length was it? What's become of it?
She: When I was 12, I wrote a story in three parts that totaled about 100k words. It was epically bad. It languished on my father's old computer until it mercifully passed into oblivion.
He: When I was in high school. It was a novella, terrible, of course, but it got my mind working along the path of story creation. I branched out in poetry, which won some on-campus awards, in university. After marriage, I haven't touched poetry. It's a young man's art.

* How many stories did you complete before you sold your first?
Easily a million words, which was about six separate stories. We did not intend these things for publication, however. They were for ourselves, for our apprenticeship, and we have found those million words to be our grand sacrifice upon the altar of publication. In other words, those early stories were good practice.
* What genre(s) do you write in? What drew you to write in it/them? What’s your favorite genre of all to write in?
We write fantasy, paranormal, romance, and a mix of all three. We love good sci-fi and fantasy, and we also enjoy canon literature, as we both have Master's degrees in that field. Romance is an easy genre for us to write in, since we believe that all the best stories are love stories.
* What are the best and worst pieces of writing advice you ever received?
Best advice: If you want to be published, write what people want to read. (Some of our early stories were considered technically good but not a style anyone reads nowadays.)
Worst advice: Write what you know. (We make up our worlds wholecloth!)

* How do you celebrate/deal with acceptance/rejection letters?
Celebrate: With a toast with all our children (the adults get liqueur, the kids get apple cider).
Deal with: Ummm, we have never received a rejection letter. Worth His Freedom got only offers, but we went with Evernight because of personal recommendations.

* In regard to the book you’re promoting, which actor and actress do you envision playing the roles of your hero and heroine? If there’s a villain or other characters who are pertinent to the story, who would play those parts?
Tsalrin: A young Jude Law, but he'd have to spend a significant amount of time in the makeup chair everyday before filming. Oh, and can we make him taller? (No spoilers)
Miria: A long, blonde, young Kate Winslet.
Aemilius (villain): Chris Pine, but he'd have to make himself quite unpleasant!
Hedda: Gemma Jones.

* The book you’re promoting, is it a stand-alone story or part of a series? If it’s part of a series, please list the order the books need to be read in for maximum reading enjoyment.
Worth His Freedom is a stand-alone book, but it is set in a fantasy world that will be the setting for other love stories from us. What sparked the idea? The character of the hero, Tsalrin. When we were designing the mythology of our world, he became an important figure.

*** Now for some fun info… ***
* Are you a morning person or night owl?
She: Night owl. A chronic insomniac.
He: Neither and both. I can function on either schedule.

* What’s your favorite day of the week?
She: Monday. And outing and coffee in the afternoon with him.
He: Sunday. Home with her, having friends over.

* If you could live anywhere in the universe, where would it be and why?
She: Rome. I lived there when I was a child and would dearly love to return.
He: Earth. It's the only habitable globe we know of. I'll get back to you if we find another M-class planet.

*** About the story(ies)… ***
Title: Worth His Freedom
Publisher: Evernight Publishing
Tag line: Two lovers. One collar. No escape.
Blurb: Miria, a young noblewoman on the cusp of an arranged marriage, meets the Ausir Tsalrin, her father's mysterious assassin, and sparks fly immediately. They face obstacles of political machinations and racial intolerance. Tsalrin is trapped by an ancient curse, and Miria cannot escape her father or the husband to whom he would sell her, a man who sees her merely as a political tool. Miria and Tsalrin's position is impossible, but neither one will give up their hidden love. Theirs is a story of struggle against abuse, bigotry, and paterfamilias. Their love is both their greatest danger and their only comfort as they search for their mutual freedom.
