What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Gregory Delaurentis spent his adult life roaming from job to job, working for Lockheed in California, various law firms in New York, and financial firms on Wall Street. What are you going to tell us about today?
* My story Cover of Darkness. Cover of Darkness is the first in a series of upcoming books that include Edge of Darkness, Pale of Darkness and Cries of Darkness. These novels follow the lives of three individuals who do battle bringing criminals to justice, while they struggle to understand the complex relationships that exist among themselves. This intriguing trio has absorbed the attention of Mr. Delaurentis for the past year and a half, so much so he decided to self-publish their stories to bring them to a wider audience. * “We can’t go to Ferryman and Reynolds,” Kevin said, nervously running his fingers through his hair, and retrieving his arm from around Margaret as he sat up. “They’ll only go on the defensive. And if the case starts turning in that direction, they’ll only deflect it.”

A Look At Nicola Cameron & 'Grading the Curve' ( @YesItsNicolaC @evernightpub #erom #rotg )

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I’m a married woman of a certain age who really likes writing about sex. When not writing about sex, I like to knit. Well, it’s true!
* Okay, okay, the full version: I’ve had a healthy interest in sex since puberty, but it wasn’t until 2012 that I decided to write about it. Turns out that the skills picked up during my SF writing career transfer rather nicely to erotic romance — who knew? In addition to Grading the Curve, my fantasy erotic romance novel Storm Season (Book One in the Olympic Cove series) is also available from Evernight Publishing
* When not writing, I’m usually making Stuff(TM), kissing my husband, or entertaining my cats.
What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
* Grading the Curve is a Romance on the Go novelette from Evernight Publishing. Ellen Ragsdale is a scholarship student who has sacrificed a great deal in order to put herself through college. One of her only pleasures is fantasizing about one of her English professors, the aloof and sardonic Alexander Cord. But after her finals, she learns that Alex has been fantasizing about her as well, and decides to make both their fantasies come true.
How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
* Er, I might have a bit of a teacher kink -- LONG story. And when Evernight opened submissions for an anthology of stories featuring dominant males and the women who love them, I wrote Grading the Curve for it. It wound up getting rejected, but I was told to expand the story and add an epilogue, then resubmit it as a Romance on the Go standalone. I did, it was accepted, and here we are!
Describe the hero in five words.
* Alex Cord: Sardonic with a sweet center.
Describe the heroine in five words.
* Ellen Ragsdale: Don’t be fooled -- she’s tough.
Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* I would have to say Ellen, because she’s worked incredibly hard and sacrificed a great deal to put herself through college, and it’s very satisfying to see her get what she wanted in the end.
What's your favorite line in the story?
* Professor Alexander Cord was, if she had to be honest, a bit of a tool.

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I’m an award-winning bestselling author whose books range from romantic mystery/thrillers to contemporary erotic romance. I’m also a freelance photographer. When I’m not indulging in those two passions I can often be found in the Florida Keys, doing research in between parasailing and seeking out the perfect Mojito.
What book are you going to tell us about today?
* My newest release is the romantic thriller Warning Shot, featuring my two most popular characters, Nick Seven and Felicia Hagens. They’re both a couple of former CIA spooks living in Key Largo, Florida, trying to stay out of the intrigue and adventure that was a part of their former lives, but always getting dragged into something.
* Warning Shot is the third in this series, following the best selling books Memories Die Last and Never Look Back. The books do not need to be read in order, because each one recaps the character’s backgrounds while giving a few new hints into their personalities.
* I think this is one of the most action-packed, romantic thrillers I’ve written, with a topical theme, plenty of fast-paced adventure, humor, realistic atmosphere and some interesting characters. There’s also enough heat between Nick and Felicia to make Key West in July feel like Alaska.
How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
* The Nick and Felicia spy adventures typically draw from current events. I had wanted to do a story about these characters that began when they were both still with the CIA then flash forward to the present. Recent revelations about the secret snooping used by the Feds found their way into the plot, when I realized how easy it is to spy on people without their knowledge. It gives a real feeling of paranoia, which I incorporated into the characters. Nick has always come across as very confident and self-assured, but things happen that make him look over his shoulder and question everyone’s motives.
* One of the hallmarks of each installment is the internal fight Nick Seven wages when something from his past always pops up to bite him on the ass when he least expects it. He just wants to run his bar and restaurant in the Keys with Felicia and enjoy the sunsets. In this installment he ends up helping a friend from his spy days who may have gotten involved in a political assassination, and Nick feels obliged to stop him before it’s too late.

* Rugged, handsome, romantic, funny and cool.
Describe the heroine in five words.
* Tough, beautiful, sex on two feet.
Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* They’re all fun, but the one I found the most challenging was Nick’s former mentor. This character has gone to great lengths to make everyone think he’s turned into an eccentric paranoid recluse to cover up what he’s really doing. I had to show how erratic his behavior is and some of the things this character does provided the humor.
* The biggest hurdle I had to jump was with the two leads. Since each book in this series is a stand-alone title, it was challenging to recap their backgrounds for new readers who hadn’t read the first two, while not turning off followers who already know where these two people came from.
What's your favorite line in the story?
* “You know what they say about old soldiers, Nicholas – they want to die with their boots on. It gives them a sense of dignity and purpose, like their lives were worthwhile.”

* The biggest hurdle I had to jump was with the two leads. Since each book in this series is a stand-alone title, it was challenging to recap their backgrounds for new readers who hadn’t read the first two, while not turning off followers who already know where these two people came from.

* First off, I have to admit to being a great fan of ‘The Walking Dead’ and, let’s face it, zombies are hot these days - big on television, big in the multiplexes and now they even have their own erotica genre! Most of the time as an erotica writer, I’m writing stories to fulfill editors’ calls for submissions and that means someone else has chosen the theme or direction in which the story needs to go. By putting together my own collection of short stories I put myself in the editor’s chair - the driving seat, so to speak. I decided to try something that would fun and altogether different from anything I’d written to date - and voila! - Zombie Erotoclypse was born...

If you remember how hard it was to be a teenager, try to imagine what it must be like if you’re a zombie as well. He’s a sweet boy in a tough situation and he doesn’t disappoint! Out of the humans, I would have to go for Marsha in Red Hot Zombie Cock. Not only does she have to contend with a city full of zombies on her doorstep, she also has to put up with the antics of her cousin Skylar who couldn’t be more irresponsible or reckless when it comes to dealing with the undead hoards...

* I’ve wanted to write a story about shibari for a long time. Shibari, the ancient Japanese art of rope binding, is such a beautiful and sensual practice. It took a lot of research because it’s not a subject I knew a lot about before I started writing Tie Me Free and I wanted to get it right. After reading a few books (fiction and non-fiction), as well as talking to people who practice it frequently, the words flowed.

Katrine Smithson, what would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Well, I’m from St. Elainseville, which I use to think was the center of the world until I discovered there are whole other worlds out there. Not in the sky or anything, just out there, as if by magic.
* There I was walking to work one day - I work at the local convent, helping the sisters, mainly in the infirmary – when I saw card lying in the middle of the path. I picked it up, to put it in a bin if nothing else, but there was writing on it. Directions really, and they kept changing. It may have been a bit impulsive to follow them but that’s what I did. Almost as if it was meant to be. I guess that’s where the story begins, because it was the card that led me to Lerrendor, a land filled with magic. More importantly it led me to Prince Wilhelm and my destiny.
Are you happy with the way people perceive you?
* It wasn’t something I used to think about and then when I ended up in Lerrendor at a castle, with royalty I felt so out of place. I suddenly became aware of my humble origins. It was hard to believe that Wilhelm might love me for myself when surrounded by so many ladies that sparkled. I mean seriously they had jewels sewn into their dresses.
* Many of them weren’t kind though. It’s who you are inside that counts, that’s what I’ve learned through this story. Now I’m more aware of how people perceive me and I value those who see past the clothes I came with.
Does your author ever try to take over the story? And how do you deal with it?
* We were getting along fine, the story was just the way it should be for a fairytale, with the magic firmly dictating what happened, then came edits. Suddenly my author’s talking about adding in a whole new dimension, creating some kind of link between what happens in my world and a book in her world’s library. Luckily she talked round in circles about it with a friend and someone heard when I whispered the word Fairy Goodmother. So much easier.
If you were taken out of the story and placed into your author’s world, what would be the first thing you’d do?
* Check I had a magic card to guide me. It’s crazy enough jumping world without some magical help.
If you could pull your author into your world, what do you think would happen to them?
* Maybe they’d find love too. Anything can happen in a Fairytale.
What was the best sexual experience you’ve had?
* Now, you’re making me blush. I mean the things Wilhelm come ups with… I can’t say, just read the warning on the book.

* My author is Morgan King. Morgan says, "Hi, I’m Morgan, well actually it’s a pen name, having a secret identity makes me feel a little like an important spy, which is always a good way to start the day! * There I was walking to work one day - I work at the local convent, helping the sisters, mainly in the infirmary – when I saw card lying in the middle of the path. I picked it up, to put it in a bin if nothing else, but there was writing on it. Directions really, and they kept changing. It may have been a bit impulsive to follow them but that’s what I did. Almost as if it was meant to be. I guess that’s where the story begins, because it was the card that led me to Lerrendor, a land filled with magic. More importantly it led me to Prince Wilhelm and my destiny.
Are you happy with the way people perceive you?
* It wasn’t something I used to think about and then when I ended up in Lerrendor at a castle, with royalty I felt so out of place. I suddenly became aware of my humble origins. It was hard to believe that Wilhelm might love me for myself when surrounded by so many ladies that sparkled. I mean seriously they had jewels sewn into their dresses.
* Many of them weren’t kind though. It’s who you are inside that counts, that’s what I’ve learned through this story. Now I’m more aware of how people perceive me and I value those who see past the clothes I came with.
Does your author ever try to take over the story? And how do you deal with it?
* We were getting along fine, the story was just the way it should be for a fairytale, with the magic firmly dictating what happened, then came edits. Suddenly my author’s talking about adding in a whole new dimension, creating some kind of link between what happens in my world and a book in her world’s library. Luckily she talked round in circles about it with a friend and someone heard when I whispered the word Fairy Goodmother. So much easier.
If you were taken out of the story and placed into your author’s world, what would be the first thing you’d do?
* Check I had a magic card to guide me. It’s crazy enough jumping world without some magical help.
If you could pull your author into your world, what do you think would happen to them?
* Maybe they’d find love too. Anything can happen in a Fairytale.
What was the best sexual experience you’ve had?
* Now, you’re making me blush. I mean the things Wilhelm come ups with… I can’t say, just read the warning on the book.

* My author is Morgan King. Morgan says, "Hi, I’m Morgan, well actually it’s a pen name, having a secret identity makes me feel a little like an important spy, which is always a good way to start the day! I picked Morgan King based on first pet followed by first street, supposedly my porn star name."
* I’m also a mother to a beautiful five year old, so when the characters aren’t having conversations in my head I’m voicing the character of a witch, dragon, pirate or possibly knight. Yes, I always get to be the bad guy for some reason!
* Then there’s the day job, I work as a senior manager for a charity, which is both challenging and rewarding.
* And oh yes I’m British, living in rural Norfolk.

A look into the story

Mentally measuring the height to be sure the distance matched that during his experimentation on himself he let the first drop fall. For long seconds she let him, too stunned to react. Then her shock gave way to fury, and she lashed out with her foot, kicking him in the shin.
* “Ow!” He released her abruptly, an aggrieved scowl distorting his pretty face. “What did you do that for?”
* Cripes, she’d broken her foot, not that she’d admit it to him. She gathered the pain and hurled it back in harsh words. “You can’t come waltzing back after nearly a year and expect me to welcome you. Didn’t you receive the divorce papers?”
* “I don’t want a divorce.” His blue eyes bored into her. Determined. Steady. He glanced at their avid audience. “Maybe we should take this somewhere private?”
* Julia dug in her heels, feeling contrary. He had no right to burst into her life again. And as for orders—forget it. She squared her shoulders and glowered at him. “They’re my friends. They can hear anything you have to say to me.” Aw, heck. Ryan. She’d thought she’d hate him… No! She did hate him. “You cheated on me.”
* “When did Julia get married?” Susan asked.
* Curiosity buffeted Julia in waves, coming at her from all directions. Great. Just great.
* She lowered her voice, steeling herself against his charisma. One look at his dark hair, blue eyes and strong runner’s body and her willpower seeped through the soles of her favorite high-heel pumps. Go figure.
* “I can’t talk to you now. We should discuss this with our lawyers present.”
* A total contradiction of her previous words. Off-balance, surprise and a tinge of outrage ran hotly through her veins, yet she wanted to grab him and lay one on his sexy lips.
