A Look At Nicola Cameron & 'Breaker Zone' @YesItsNicolaC @evernightpub #Gay #Menage

Today we have author Nicola Cameron visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Nicola Cameron is an expatriate Chicagoan who has lived in England, Canada, Holland, and Sweden, and keeps a confusing amalgamation of languages in her head as a result. Currently located in the clavicle of Texas, she has finally mastered the proper use of "y'all," much to her Chicago family's dismay.
* Despite a healthy interest in sex since puberty, it wasn't until 2012 that Nicola decided to try writing about it. As it turned out, the skills she picked up during her SF writing career transferred rather nicely to erotic romance. When not writing, she wrangles cats, smooches her husband, makes dolls of dubious and questionable identity, and thanks almighty Cthulhu that she doesn’t have to work for a major telecommunications company any more (because there’s BDSM, and then there’s just plain torture...).

What are you going to tell us about today?
* I'm sharing information about my BDSM, Gay, Menage story, Breaker Zone.

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* When Dr. Nick Gardiner goes on the run from a psychotic ex and ends up at Olympic Cove, the last thing he expects to find is his friend Ian living with two redheaded demigods and learning how to be a storm god. Adding to the confusion is a wounded merman named Aidan who washes up in the cove, requiring Nick’s professional help. As it turns out, the handsome mer and his partner Liam have other plans for the ER doctor — to claim him as their agapetos, their destined mate, and fulfill his need to submit.
* A chance encounter at a local junk shop reveals that Nick has his own role to play in the battle against the insane Nereid Thetis. Under the reluctant mentorship of the centaur Chiron, Nick must master the use of the Rod of Asclepius if he wants to rescue his mates from a ghastly fate and help Ian save the planet.
Be Warned: BDSM, menage sex (MMM), m/m sex, double anal penetration, rimming, sex toys
~ Excerpt ~
* Hefting the Rod, Nick headed into the master bedroom and put it away in the closet. The bed looked insanely soft and comfortable, and he felt an intense urge to do a faceplant into the coverlet and let sleep take him away.
* Someone cleared their throat, and he turned to see Aidan and Liam in the bedroom doorway. “Where should we sleep, Nick?” Aidan asked.
* That was a good question. He scrubbed at his face, trying to think. “Do you need to go back into the water?”
* “No, we’re good for a day or two at least.”
* “Okay. I guess there’s always the guest rooms.”
* A flicker of disappointment ran through those green eyes, but Aidan nodded. “We’ll let you get some sleep.” He turned to leave.
* “No.”
* Nick’s eyebrows went up. “Excuse me?”
* “No,” Liam repeated, calm but unmovable. “We’re supposed to be your bodyguards, according to Lord Chiron. That won’t be easy if we’re sleeping in separate rooms. We need to sleep in here with you.”
* Annoyance bubbled to the surface, tempered by the allure of curling up between his mers. “Look, no offense, but I don’t think that’s a good idea,” he said, trying to sound firm. “I’m really tired, and I don’t think I’m up for anything tonight.”
* Liam stepped even closer. “We’re not supposed to leave you alone,” he said, hazel blue eyes shadowed in the twilit room. “Listen to me, chuisle. You’re exhausted, and understandably so. You were threatened by your former lover, and then you had to deal with one of the most powerful gods on the planet, followed immediately by a long study session. You’ve done enough for the day. Let us help you relax.”
* That low voice, like a cello with its rich intonation, was impossible to resist. “Just relax?”
* Liam smiled. “More if you’re in the mood. But it’s up to you.”
* He didn’t want to admit it, but he was already getting aroused at the thought of both of them touching him. “I … okay. Yes.”
* The tall mer took his hands, lifting each one to his mouth in turn and kissing it. “Yes, Maighstir,” he said with a smile.
* It sounded like ‘master’ with a Gaelic lilt making it into ‘maister’. Nick’s last bit of resistance disappeared, and he felt boneless with pleasure at the anticipation of what was to come. “Yes, Maighstir.”
* “Mm. Good boy.”
***
* Liam let Nick’s hands go. They dropped to the human’s sides and Nick’s dark head tilted, exposing the long line of muscle and tendon just waiting to be decorated with bite marks and sucking kisses. Oh, their chuisle knew how to lure attention. * But Liam knew how to wait. Instead of putting his mouth to Nick’s offered throat, he whispered, “Now, we’re going to take off your clothes.”
* A shiver ran through Nick at that. Liam paused, trying to judge if it had been caused by lust or fear. The reality of the situation came back to him—the last time Nick had played with anyone, his trust had been shattered and his body damaged. They were swimming through shark-infested waters here, and one wrong move could drive their mate even further away from them.
* He bent close to Nick’s ear again. “If something upsets you, you will tell us immediately, do you understand? We’ll sit down tomorrow and have a long talk about what you can and cannot do, and I swear to you that Aidan and I will respect your limits. But tonight is purely for your pleasure and comfort.”
* He heard Nick swallow, and the shivering died down. “Good. Now, take a deep breath.”
* Their mate’s ribcage expanded, filling with the air all his kind needed. “Another.” Liam ran his hands over Nick’s shoulders, enjoying the feel of the curved muscle there. “Good. I’m going to take off your shirt.”
* Moving with deliberation, he slid all the buttons through their holes, tugging the smooth fabric off and tossing it to the side. He took in a soft breath, admiring Nick’s body. His muscles weren’t as pronounced as a mer’s, but his back and shoulders had beautifully delineated hollows and rises that implied strength and agility. Liam’s mouth watered with the sudden urge to bite into one firm shoulder.
* Instead, he ran just the pads of his fingertips across Nick’s skin, tracing the outline of his upper body. On the other side Aidan had stepped closer, running his own fingers along Nick’s chest and abs. Their mate made a soft, hungry noise deep in his throat, and Aidan flashed that irresistible smile. “I think you like this, chuisle.”
* “Mmm.”
* Liam leaned close, nipping Nick’s earlobe again. “Use your words,” he ordered gently.
* “Yes, I like this, Maighstir.” The response was soft, almost dreamy.
* Liam caught Aidan’s eye, then glanced down meaningfully. At the same time he slid his hands down Nick’s arms, gently ringing his wrists and drawing them behind his back. “You’re still wearing too much.”
* “Far too much,” Aidan agreed, sinking to his knees. Liam watched over Nick’s shoulder as the other mer started undoing Nick’s belt, teasingly drawing the leather through the loops, before easing down his zipper. Nick made another noise, deeper this time.
* He likes being restrained and controlled. Liam felt his own desire rise, and firmly corralled it. Tonight is for him, to show him he belongs with us.
* Nick gasped suddenly, twitching in his grip. Glancing down, Liam saw his other mate planting an open-mouthed kiss at the base of Nick’s hardening cock through his underwear.
* “Did I say you could do that, boy?” he asked Aidan, putting a growl into his voice.
* The green-eyed mer leaned back, face shadowed in the room’s dim light. “I’m sorry, Maighstir. I couldn’t resist a taste.”
* Liam was tempted to correct him, but their focus had to remain on Nick. “I’ll deal with you later,” he rumbled, and saw goosebumps rise on Nick’s skin. The idea obviously appealed. “Hm. Would you like that, chuisle? I could tie you to the headboard and make you watch me punish Aidan. I’d bend him over the end of the bed and turn his ass a lovely red as you watched. Then I’d put him on his hands and knees and fuck him while he looked at you.”
* This time both his mates groaned at the image he’d created. “I wouldn’t let him come for a long time,” Liam murmured, enjoyed the sensation of his own cock plumping out and pressing against the fabric of his shorts. “And every time I thrust into him, his mouth would come closer and closer to your cock, almost close enough to suck it. But never quite close enough. And all the time I was fucking him, all you could do is sit there, hard and aching so badly, and watch us.”
* Nick’s head dropped back onto his shoulder. “Please, Maighstir,” he whispered.
* “Mm. Such a good boy.” He nodded at Aidan, and the other mer finished taking Nick’s trousers down, then his briefs. “If you’re very good and earn it, I may let you come tonight. No promises, though.”

A Look At Loralynne Summers & 'In Self Defense' @LL_Summers @evernightpub #contemporary #romance

Today we have author Loralynne Summers visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* As a child, Loralynne was always the student getting in trouble for talking in class and at home for making things up. Combining her ability to go on and on and her flair for storytelling, she naturally grew up to be a writer. Originally planning to write fantasy, her muse had other plans. Once she opened herself up to the whims of her muse, she couldn’t type her first sex scene fast enough and now writes romance. Loralynne lives in Upstate New York with her husband, cats, and growing family. You can friend her on facebook or follow her on twitter under LL_Summers

What are you going to tell us about today?
* A bit about myself and my contemporary romance story, In Self Defense.
* How did you come up with the story?
* The story opens to Sarah mowing the lawn on a hot, humid day. And that’s exactly what I was doing when the idea first took root in my brain. My neighbor across the street arrived home on his Harley, and BAM! The whole opening scene was there in my head. I couldn’t type fast enough. There is a large part of my relationship in this story. Jason has some of my husband’s mentality, mostly in how he treats Sarah. I often tell my husband that I don’t deserve him, he is way better to me than I am to him! As for Sarah, I too fell in love with my best friend after leaving an abusive relationship. Thankfully, mine never reached the level of physical abuse, but the signs were all there, and it was only a matter of time. As in the story though, I was quite afraid of my feelings for my husband, because of how close our friendship was and I was terrified to ruin it.
* Do you have any writing habits?
* I am a total pantser. I don’t plot, I learned quickly that if I tried to make the characters do what I thought should be done, the story sucked and wouldn’t flow. As soon as I gave my muse carte blanche, things went much more smoothly! So I do what I’m told now. Some stories I need complete silence to write, others I have to have music playing. And the music varies depending on the story, and sometimes even what part of the story I’m writing.
* How much real life do you put into or influences your books?
* I’ve noticed that in most of my heroes there is some part of my husband, be it mannerisms or other little quirks. In one story my hero is total freak about a specific car, which is all my husband. There’s a bit of myself in Sarah, and a big part of the start of the relationship between my husband and I in Sarah and Jason’s. I too fell in love with my best friend after leaving an abusive ex. My husband is very much responsible for the sense of self-worth and self-esteem that I now have today. He put me back together emotionally, just as Jason did for Sarah.
* Any upcoming projects?
* I have a paranormal series of full-length novels that I’m working on, a fantasy of undetermined size that I currently view as my Dark Tower (by Stephen King) – I don’t think it will ever be done, but I keep plugging away at it in bits and pieces here and there, and the story currently screaming the loudest in my head is a contemporary ménage, likely novella length, that I hope to finish soon.

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
She fell in love—in self-defense…
* The last thing that Sarah wants in her life is a relationship. Her track record was horrendous, and the last guy she’d dated had beaten her mentally and physically, landing her in the hospital. Almost a year later she’s back on her feet, thanks in no small part to her best friend Jason. Trouble is, lately she wants more than a friendship with Jason, and it scares the hell out of her. And then he kisses her…
His offense may hit a brick wall…
* Jason has been in love with Sarah for longer than he’ll willingly admit to. Since bringing her home from the hospital, she’s grown into a strong, secure, confident woman. After seeing how perfect his best friend really is, he can’t get her off his mind. He’s convinced her feelings match his, and decides to go for it, only to scare her away.
Can best friends become something more? Or will she stay hidden behind her defensive wall?
~ Excerpt ~
* “Why are you carrying me fifty feet?” Sarah asked.
* “Because I can. Because I’d be a jerk to make you stumble around on those shoes when you could fall and get hurt. But mostly because it’s my fault they’re broken in the first place.”
* “Jason, I’m the one who gave Alex a roundhouse kick to the head in these things.”
* “And you have no idea how proud I am of you for that. Doesn’t change the fact that I wasn’t there to protect you when he showed up, and I should have been.”
* She sighed, settling her head on his shoulder. “It’s okay,” she whispered. If he could beat the shit out of himself, he would. It had been eating away at him from the moment she’d thrown herself at him and wouldn’t let go.
* He wanted to kick the ass of every one of their friends, too. Most of them didn’t know who Alex was. But that knowledge didn’t stop him from wanting to knock their heads off for letting Sarah fight him. Hell, it was a good thing for Alex that Jason had been in the bathroom when it all went down. Otherwise, the police would have pulled him off Alex’s bloody, beaten corpse. He owed that asshole. Not just for the beating that had landed Sarah in the hospital, but also for the months it took to put her back together, physically and emotionally.
* “What’s the code for the alarm, Sarah?” He’d never asked her what it was after showing her how to change it. He wanted her to feel completely safe from everyone when she was in the house, including him.
* “Sarah?” He tilted his head back to look down at her. In the dark, he couldn’t see her blush, but assumed she had when she turned and buried her face into his chest before mumbling a reply. “I didn’t hear you, baby. Tell me again.”
* She cleared her throat and took a deep breath. “I said, it’s your birthday.”
* Christ, could he feel more like a dick? If he needed another clue about her feelings, he was a moron. It was a bit ironic, though.
* “Wanna know a secret? My alarm is set to your birthday. Kinda funny, huh?” He set her down to dig her keys out of his pocket. “You gonna let all the cold air out, or are you coming inside?” She stood where he’d left her on the porch. Shaking herself, she followed him into the house and he reset the alarm for occupancy, locking the door behind them. “You go ahead and shower. I’ll make popcorn, grab us some beers, and see what I can find to watch.”
* “Sure. Can you help me with the boots? My hands still feel all shaky.”
* “Yeah, of course. Here.” He fell to the floor in front of her, sitting on his heels and dying a little more inside. This was so not how he’d pictured the night going just a couple of hours ago. He wanted to be peeling these off because she wanted him to, not because she needed him to.
* She rested her hands on his shoulders and placed one foot on his thigh. He ran his hands along the supple leather, up and over her calf. He swallowed hard, tamping down his baser emotions. She didn’t need that kind of bullshit from him right now.
* Slowly, he pulled the zipper down and slid the boot from her. Lips parted slightly, her breathing grew shallow and rapid. Unable to stop himself, he massaged her foot for a moment before he gently lowered it to the floor. Eyes locked, he pulled her other leg forward and repeated the procedure. Her lids fluttered, a soft moan escaping her when he gently worked his hands up her legs, kneading both calves at the same time.
* “Jason…” she whispered, her hands sliding to the back of his neck.
* He rose to his knees, conscience be damned. There was no denying the hunger in her eyes, or the tension filling the room. She leaned into him, his hands continuing to massage their way up the backs of her legs until they held her ass firmly. Both breathing hard, they froze, a hair’s breadth separating their lips, hesitating to cross the final line that would end their friendship and start something new.

A Look At D. L. Jackson & 'Black Hills Desperado' @Dlaree69 @decadentpub #shifter #scifi

Today we have author D. L. Jackson visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* D. L. Jackson is an award-winning author of urban fantasy, science fiction, military romance and erotic romance. She loves to incorporate crazy plot twists, comedy and the unexpected into her worlds. As a U.S. Army veteran, she naturally adores men in uniform and feels the world could always use more. She does her part by incorporating as many sexy soldiers in her novels as she can. When she isn't writing or running the roads, you can often find her online chatting with her peers and readers. Grab a cup of iced coffee, pull up your virtual chair and say hi. She loves emails and blog visits from her readers. www.authordljackson.com

What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
* Black Hills Desperado is part of the Black Hills Wolves series and is book three. It follows Rebecca Royce’s, Wolf’s Return and Heather Long’s, What a Wolf Wants. All are available for Preorder Now!

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
* I wanted a different kind of heroine, one who was smart, but a little rough around the edges. Xio fits my idea of a bad girl to a t.

Describe the hero in five words.
* Marcus is her exact opposite. FBI agent, good guy and ready to sacrifice everything to save his mate and get her on the right path.

Describe the heroine in five words.
* Xio is a woman of mixed heritage, both Asian and white. She is a rebel and falls in with the wrong crowd and deep into the criminal underworld, not sure how to get out. My bad girl bank robber meets her match with FBI agent Marcus Cazador.

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* Xio. She has a long journey to redemption but in the end, I can’t tell you if she makes it or not. She’s as colorful and wild as her ancestors, a true outlaw of the Black Hills.

What's your favorite line in the story?
* “At last we meet.” And then he spoke the words she’d hoped never to hear. “You have the right to remain silent.”
* Which of course she doesn’t. I love this line because it changes everything for my heroine. She has to make a choice, decide which side of the law she wants to stand on, possibly costing her, her life.

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* She’s a bad girlfriend.
* Nothing Xio Davis does is right. When she abandons her pack, riding out of town on the back of a stranger’s motorcycle, she finds she’s bitten off more than she can chew. First, it’s small-time crimes, then bank robbery. As Xio sinks into the criminal underworld, the FBI catches up with her. Now, she’s got one way out: snitch.
* When Xio turns state's evidence against a Mexican drug lord, Agent Marcus Cazador steps up to take her home, giving up his career, his place in the El Paso pack, and all he knows to protect her.
* Xio claims she’s not the same wolf who left ten years before, but can she convince Marcus she’s changed her wicked ways? Or will the Black Hills be the end of the road on her long journey to redemption?
~ Excerpt ~
* “Good morning, Miss Davis. Let me introduce myself. I’m Special Agent Marcus Cazador of the FBI. Didn’t anyone ever tell you banks are most often robbed within the first few minutes of opening? We figured you’d be here, after the invitation we’d extended. Safest bank in Texas. I can see you liked the billboard at the port of entry. You and I have a lot to talk about, but business first.”
* He’d used her real name, one she hadn’t heard in ten years. It sounded strange coming from his mouth, but also right, as though he’d been born to say it. Not good. This man was dangerous in so many ways. “Bite me.”
* “You have no idea how much I’d like to.” A knee pressed down into the center of her back, and he yanked her arms behind her and slapped cuffs around her wrists. He rolled her to her back, sat her up, and tugged the mask from her face. “At last we meet.” And then he spoke the words she’d hoped never to hear. “You have the right to remain silent.”

A Look At April Zyon & 'His Undercover Lover' @AprilZyonAuthor @evernightpub #erotic #western

Today we have author April Zyon visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Having been a lover of the written word all her life April has always wanted to expand her horizons and write something that could be shared with the world. Only one thing held April back, the fact that the letters and numbers mixed and jumbled more often than not. Diagnosed with Dyslexia when she was eight years old April had to work her butt off just to be able to keep up with the other kids in reading and writing, so her love for fictional writing was tossed to the wayside for the moment.
* Time marched on, as it always does, and she forgot her childhood dream of becoming an author and instead focused on what she had to – creating a career for herself.
* As the endless waves of time passed the shores became less rocky and more sandy, a place where she could find an even foot. That and Microsoft invented Word. Hallelujah.
* This is where April began her journey into the written world, the world that her imagination had been ceaselessly creating for her entire adult life.
* Now she has been given a chance to let her literary wings unfold and fly, thanks to the amazing publishers with Evernight Publishing and Secret Cravings Publishing.
* Now its time to let the dream take flight and watch it soar!

What are you going to tell us about today?
* My western suspense story, His Undercover Lover.

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* Working undercover either has its perks, or it has serious downfalls. For Megan Jenkins, working as a stripper to uncover the illegal activities happening in Massey, TX, was definitely not her idea of fun. If she’d wanted men to leer at her half naked self, she was pretty sure she could have come up with something a lot more entertaining. For herself at least.
* She’s been driving him more than a little crazy since he came to town. Simon Markham isn’t the sort of man to give up though. As a Marine he understands the need for stealth, and is more than willing to let things play out but only to a point. When Megan’s case begins to show promise, and not the good kind, he isn’t willing to stand idly by any longer. Whether she likes it or not he plans on watching over her, each and every single inch if he has his way.
* Things begin to unravel for the Mayor of Massey when Megan and Simon stumble onto new information. The man becomes so desperate he actually kidnaps her to ensure she can never speak of anything she’s learned. But Megan knows that Simon isn’t about to let the man get away with it. Her Marine will come for her, and God help anyone in his way.
* Time is ticking, the noose is tightening, and the bad guys think they are free and clear. They didn’t count on the DEA, and one very determined Marine to put a serious dent in their plans.
* Rescuing Megan hadn’t been in his grand plan to woo her, but Simon isn’t about to let anything get between him and the woman he loves. Come hell, or high water, he fully intends on marrying his undercover lover.
~ Excerpt ~
* Holding his cup up, he tipped his head to Mercy when she refilled his coffee. “Thank you,” he said. When she patted him on his head, he rolled his eyes.
* Brant Carver, Mercy’s husband, was laughing into his own cup of coffee. His expression changed to something softer when Mercy moved closer to him. Lowering the cup, he let her fill it, tipping his face up for the kiss she dropped on his lips.
* Unable to help himself, Simon rolled his eyes again. This time, he knew no one saw him do it. They were too into one another. Taking a drink of his coffee, he set the cup down, and then began to drum his fingers on the table top. As the kissing continued, he progressively got louder, and louder.
* Finally, Brant pulled away and turned a glower on him. “Is there a problem?”
* “Was trying to determine if I should go to another room or not.”
* “Why would you?”
* “Well, given past experiences, I figured you were about ten seconds from tossing her onto the table and stripping her naked. Or maybe stripping her naked, and then throwing her on the table. Little unsure on that part. But I knew the end result would be something seared into my memories for the rest of time.”
* Simon shot Mercy a grin as she turned pink. Brant was a rather interesting shade of red as well, likely more pissed than embarrassed, though. “Just saying it like it is. We all know how you two are, and you asked me over here for a reason, so spill it so I can get back to helping Vic with whatever insane project he’s dreamed up today.”
* Brant really didn’t look amused, but he did seem to agree getting down to business was best since he let Mercy go and faced Simon across the table. “I need a favor,” he said.
* “Gee, like I didn’t guess that from the phone call I got.”
* “Are you always this much of a smart ass? Rhys never once mentioned you were a smart ass.”
* “Rhys doesn’t know everything about me, or any of the guys really. But he does know I have a tendency to be a smart ass when people behave like I’m an idiot that needs to be led around by the nose. Spit it out already, Brant, or I’m heading out and you can talk someone else into being the sucker to watch over Megan.”
* Snorting at the stunned look he got from Mercy, and the barely there flinch from Brant, Simon sat back in his chair. “Really, you two? Anyone that’s been in this town for more than an hour, and pays even the slightest bit of attention, knows that something’s going down. The fact that I happen to know several people out in this neck of the woods has allowed me to draw my own conclusions.”
* “Like what?” Brant asked suspiciously.
* “Well,” he drawled slowly. “Like the fact she’s not actually a stripper. She’s an undercover DEA agent working on a case that happens to have deep roots in Massey. I know she’s been digging around looking at the mayor. She’s also looking to see what she can find in regards to drugs being funneled into and through Massey. She’s close, but she’s missing something. Otherwise, she’d already be out and on vacation instead of going into the club every single night to shake her nearly naked ass for singles.” Simon shot Mercy a quick look before focusing on Brant again. “I know you’re DEA, you’re also the agent in charge down here since being reassigned so you could be closer to Mercy. You have a number of big busts under your belt, several commendations, and narrowly avoided getting stuck on the hook from another bust when some wanker took a case from you and fucked it up royally. Got his dad, your boss at the time, fired as I recall.”
* “Close enough,” Brant muttered.
* “You can’t go in to keep an eye on her since everyone in town knows your face. That and the fact you’re married to her twin sister. Might raise more than a few brows, and it’s not something you want getting around. Plus, given the smarts of the folks in Massey, they’d soon clue into the fact that you weren’t there to watch the girls but because of your job. Questions would then be raised, and if spoken of in the wrong place, the whole operation would go tits up, as it were.”
* Brant grunted at him, and crossed his arms over his chest.
* Taking it as a sign to continue, Simon took a sip of his coffee. “Good brew, by the way, Mercy,” he said. “So you want me, a single guy, new to town, to go in and keep an eye on her. It won’t seem too strange if I’m hanging around, especially given the fact that Crank’s out of town visiting relatives, and Vic’s making kissy faces at his bride. I’m odd man out, and need to find something to fill my time with at night. How am I doing now?”
* “Rhys never mentioned you were practically a mind reader either.”
* “I’m not, but I know people. I’ve also taken a few behavioral courses from the Feds over the years. I also have degree in psychology. Never put it to any use, but I figured I could always use it if the military didn’t work out, or if I needed a career when I got out. I watch people, take note of what they say, and what they don’t say. Then I start adding it all together.”
* “Well, you’re right on pretty much everything,” Brant told him.
* “So what am I wrong on?” Simon asked.
* “Not much, except the premise I’m asking you to take on. Given you are new to town, and have been seen with Megan a couple of times, I want you to go in as her new boyfriend. Unhappy with her working the club, but since she’s bringing in the big bucks and enjoys the money, you’re there to keep an eye on her while she does work.”
* “Uh-huh,” Simon said. “And you’ve cleared this with Megan, right?”
* The look on Brant’s face said it all. “Not yet,” Brant told him. “Wanted to see if you were up for the task first.”
* Snorting, Simon shook his head, and closed his eyes to rub at his lids. “She’s going to shoot you, you do realize that, right?”
* “Probably,” Brant said. Oddly, the man seemed pretty happy about the thought. Idiot.

A fairy tale romance in the Mediterranean ~ @ElodieParkes @evernightpub #MWTease #erotic #fantasy

Welcome to the middle of the week!
This is an unofficial Mid Week Tease post since the tour is on a break due to the holidays. It will return on January 7th. But here's my normal spiel... Mid Week Tease is an event where authors are spotlighting a few lines or a paragraph or two from their stories. Readers, you get to sample some delicious snippets and be teased, titillated and tantalized into the weekend!

This week I'm happy to give my blog over to Elodie Parkes, author of A Fairy Tale Romance. She's going to share some information before her tease. Enjoy!

* Thank you for inviting me to your blog today with my new Evernight Publishing release, ‘A Fairy Tale Romance’.
* The story is contemporary, fantasy romance. It’s set along the coast in the sumptuous Mediterranean, and bathed in warmth, which I felt was a fitting venue to contrast with the stark misery of my hero’s predicament.
* The story is modelled on old fairy story motifs, where there is a fairy godmother style character, a prince and a princess. I so enjoyed writing this story because Thorn Valmont, my hero, is such a lovely, romantic man and deserves to be freed from the curse that befalls him. This is a sizzler of a story with erotic love scenes and threads of fairy tale mystery as we wonder what has happened to Thorn and how he’ll escape his lonely life.
* I wrote the story after seeing lots of photographs of the Mediterranean coast. There were some places where old mansions were built up the cliff sides. The blue ocean and the lovely vegetation sparked my imagination. One particular photo of a semi-ruined palace caught my attention and I wondered who might have lived there. That’s when Thorn Valmont my hero popped into my mind.
~ Blurb ~
* When delectable Thorn Valmont buys an old palace to renovate on the Mediterranean coast, he never dreams it will cost him his freedom.
* Thorn is part of an aristocratic family. He’s a prince and must find his princess to solve a puzzle he inherits from the ancient owners of the Mediterranean palace.
* Will he find her in time to stop his loneliness destroying him completely?
~ The Tease! (a.k.a. Excerpt) ~
* The memory of the young woman’s long slim legs and firm thighs filled his head as he walked home. He imagined caressing her. He would trail his fingertips up the back of her thighs to tease inside the cutoff bottoms of her shorts. It was so long since he’d felt the skin of a woman and yet he could almost conjure up that softness at the top of a thigh where it joined the enticing base of her ass. Thorn sighed sadly and shook his head. He had never come to terms with his lack of sex. Sometimes, after a week or so of ignoring his needs he would masturbate before darkness fell. He always felt better afterwards and told himself to do it more often, to give himself that comfort, but often sadness stole away the notion and he’d drift through his existence until he suddenly realized he needed the release of orgasm.
* Thorn knew that he needed it now, before darkness fell. He practically sprinted up the zigzag path to his home, resolved to ease the pain of loneliness that the sight of the lovely young woman had deepened. Inside his bedroom, he closed his eyes and found it easy to picture her mouth, the plump bottom lip, the way her hair tendrils had stroked there, and then he unzipped his jeans.
* He paused and thrust away the memory of Grace. He needed quick relief.
* Thorn brought to mind one of the last real sexual encounters he’d had with a woman. It was a hot memory and one he’d used before. They’d met at a party, instantly attracted in a superficial sexual way, they agreed to a moonlit tryst in the garden of the big house where the party was being held.
* He’d stalked to the girl waiting in a small stand of trees, stripped her quickly, and lifted her to slide with her to the grass. His arm around her bare waist, and a hand cupping her pussy, he’d subconsciously stored away the feel of her wet arousal on his palm and could bring that to mind.
* He recalled the words she’d said to him then, as he took his cock in his fist and pumped.
* She had said, “Fuck me. Fuck me hard. I want everything, your tongue, your fingers, and your cock in me. I want to suck you until you moan and your cum fills my mouth.”
* Thorn groaned as his cock hardened and he whispered the words, “Fuck me.” He pictured licking the girl’s pussy, her legs wide apart as she lay in the grass and his stomach clenched. His orgasm teased at him and he leaned on the edge of the chest of drawers bent over with the urgent need to come as he built a rhythm. He focused on the memory of her nipples between his lips, the way she’d sucked his cock, the taste of her cream on his tongue. Thorn pumped hard and his orgasm suddenly burned through him. As the waves of pleasure coursed in his balls and forced the cum to spurt in warm streaks over the back of his hand, he saw Grace as she’d looked at him on the beach. He saw her green eyes and perfect lips. The picture in his mind added sweetness to the orgasm. He shuddered and groaned.

A Look At Elodie Parkes & 'Candle Magic' @ElodieParkes @LoveBitesSilk #erotic #paranormal #romance

Note from author:
Thank you for hosting ‘Candle Magic’ on your blog today. Thank you so much to all my readers. I write from my heart so you have a piece of it. Happy Holidays.

About the book:
I got the idea for this story very late at night as I shivered in a sudden downpour of rain on my way home from work. It was still summer at the time and although late, the sky was still quite light. That happens in Britain where I live and often dawn comes in at around 3.30 a.m. How do I know this? I’m often still up writing or playing around with graphics for book covers. I’m lucky because my day job is in shifts so often I can grab a few hours’ sleep and still get to work on time.
A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* When Simi finds a pretty old candlestick among the discarded props in the company storeroom, she never imagines it will grant her dearest wish. There’s something mysterious about the carved candlestick, but Simi is drawn to it. She’s saved a red candle from a box she bought years ago in an antique shop, and intends to use the candlestick to hold the last candle and make her solitary Christmas lunch more festive. It’s Christmas Eve, there’s sleet in the wind, Simi slips, but Jason catches her. Who is Jason? Where has he suddenly appeared from in the night?
* Simi looks into the eyes of this gorgeous man and sparks fly …
* Erotic fantasy romance from Siren Publishing and Elodie Parkes
18+ teaser:
* The mist parted. The sight of a man walking toward her captured her in a spell. Simi stared at him, unable to move.
* He flowed slowly toward her, and then he was there in front of her, extending his arms to hold her. His cornflower blue eyes, fringed with dark lashes, filled with emotion. He smiled at Simi and she registered how handsome he was, how completely gorgeous he was, before magically she was in his arms. He held her close.
* Gratitude surged through her. Her heart opened to soak up the love he gave her. His face close, Simi yearned for his lips on hers, and then—he kissed her. It charged her whole body with such a surge of raw sexual energy her pussy drenched her inner thighs. She drifted in a heavy fog of his kiss-induced lust.
* The softness of his lips changed from a gentle, loving merging to a hungry searching as her tongue met his.
* Naked in his arms, Simi pressed against his hard body, her clothes strangely gone. Yet she accepted that as ordinary when his hands swept over her skin and grabbed her ass to lift her against his body. Her stomach contacted the hard column of his erect cock, and she sighed into his mouth.

Sinfully Sexy Saturday w. Vicki Ballante & 'The Love Commission' @VickiBallante @decadentpub #fantasy #Africa #SSS

It's Saturday! Yay! Here's a sinfully good treat from Vicki Ballante. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Vicki writes erotic and fantasy romance. She loves taking her characters into an alternate world where strange and sexy things happen. She lives with her patient husband and three noisy kids in South Africa. In between being a busy stay-at-home Mom who hates housework and spends half her life cooking everything from scratch, she runs several blogs, writes under another name, and buries herself in the delightful world of her characters.

What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
* I love romance in any form. Besides being a busy stay-at-home mom and blogger, I write under several romance genres and another name. Today I'm sharing my fantasy story, The Love Commission. The Love Commission is part 1 of the savannah sprites series about fairies in Africa. So, readers should go ahead and read this book first. I’ve started the next one but so many things have come in the way of writing it. I can’t wait to finish the story.

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
* I’ve desired to write a fairy romance for so long. The book took shape when I chose to explore a fairy and a human falling in love. I suppose that’s two people coming from such different worlds – almost like a multi-cultural romance.

Describe the hero in five words.
* Evan is a very logical, scientific person. He’s also cautious and has never opened his heart because of suffering a terrible loss as a child. When Gelsey comes along with her magic, he’s totally thrown off course.

Describe the heroine in five words.
* Gelsey is a fairy. They’re flighty, gregarious, frivolous, yet devoted to their duty and committed to the earth. Gelsey changes after she meets Evan. You will have to read the book to find out how.

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* I like the hero. I’ve always loved wounded heroes. Evan is an ordinary man who experiences an extra-ordinary love. I think he’d make the perfect husband.

What's your favorite line in the story?
* Whew, that was a hard one. It's...
* The strongest magic in their world seemed to be the love between a man and woman. To think, she’d always believed humans were uncaring creatures.

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* Gelsey is a savannah sprite—a fairy in Africa who works to preserve the earth. She’s a pro at eco-balance, but when the fairy queen gives her a commission to become a human to learn the meaning of love, she’s miserable. She has to give it her best as it’s the only way to get her dream job—to save the African Wild Cat.
* After a short time in her new life, Gelsey is swept into the world of Evan’s love. Now, she must make an impossible choice—give up her life with the man who owns her heart or lose her fairyhood forever.
~ Excerpt ~
* Gelsey thought her head would spin out of control. The strange warm sensations in her tummy made her loathe to eat despite the hunger pangs. Is this what the human love emotion felt like? Something about this man—the way he spoke to her, the way he looked at her, as if she was so important, as if he cared how she felt, stirred the strange feelings. Even her fairy friends hadn’t connected with a spot deep inside of her. She wished she could tell him of the turmoil in her soul, of the world she had left behind, and of how she missed her home and her friends. Maybe he would care. Maybe he would help her and let her leave early. He would tell her all about human love, so she didn’t have to be trapped a whole year.
* “Um, tell me about love,” she said once they were seated opposite each other at the fish restaurant. She could somehow stomach eating seafood but, being an earth fairy, couldn’t bear to eat the animals she’d spent so many years helping out. According to Ziana, she would be human and forget most of her life as a fairy. The thought of losing all touch with her past had prompted a deep fear in her, and she’d determined never to forget. Thankfully, somehow, she could remember almost everything.
* She’d skipped lunch, and the smell of seafood cramped her already empty stomach. Evan had sent her whole day in a crazy direction. She’d been quite happy to spend the rest of her year working in the florist, making pretty arrangements, meeting people, and asking them questions. She wasn’t ready for this marriage thing and had no idea what it entailed.
* Evan stared at her. “Love?”
* “Yes, tell me how it felt when you fell in love. It seems it happens more than once in a man’s life.”
* His eyes twinkled. “This is my first time.”
* He looked right into her, his gaze giving off some magic as though he’d been the one to sprinkle fairy dust. He’d almost bewitched her. If she hadn’t been a fairy, she would be falling into this love thing right this second.
* “Why do you ask?”
* She shrugged. “I didn’t expect you to answer in such a way.”
* “You cut to the chase, don’t you?”
* “I beg your pardon?”
* “You’re a very innocent person. It’s as if you’ve been sheltered from so much.”
* “I’ve lived for the earth and the environment. Love hasn’t featured in my life.”
* He took hold of her hand and squeezed it. “I’d like to show you what it’s like.”

* A love neither can abandon...
~ Excerpt ~
London, England
January 1816
* Ruby took a deep breath before trying the final drawer that could hold all the answers to her past, her true heritage. Her lungs expanded; she held the air inside. She didn’t exhale until it burned. With trembling fingers, she reached for the last drawer and pulled.
* Her nicely trimmed nails nearly snapped when her grasp on the handle slipped from the force of her tug. The drawer hadn’t budged.
* Locked!
* “Oh, poppy cocks!” she hissed. Moving her hands to the folds of her evening gown, Ruby procured a small pouch tucked neatly into a hidden pocket. Setting it on the desk, she pulled out her array of lock-picking devices, really only hairpins and small wires she’d collected since her first night—and her first failed attempt at breaking into a desk—to help her disengage the drawer.
* She had to know what secrets this lord held. Would she find an envelope inside labelled ‘Abandoned Daughter,’ or a report from the Bow Street Runners with details about herself—her hair color, the particular green shade of her eyes, places she’d been, perhaps the details of her activities over the course of her life?
* Nothing worth finding was that simply ascertained.
* No man, married or not, would leave record of their nefarious past. It was more likely her father had not spared her, or her mother, a second thought after throwing his pregnant mistress from his townhouse in the middle of the night with no coat and no means to get home.
* Ruby was anything but a fool, but she found herself continuing to search regardless. She didn’t need a signed confession—she just needed that letter opener.
* Picks in hand, she knelt before the locked drawer and eyed the keyhole, blowing a wayward strand of hair that had fallen across her face. She’d been unsuccessful more often than not when attempting to open locked drawers. But luck may have been on her side this evening. She’d entered the ball with little fuss, shortly after the host and hostess had quit the receiving line. It was surprising how similar the layout of most London townhouses were. Ruby had navigated the halls of the second floor and found the room she sought fairly quickly, encountering not a soul.
* The pins slipped into the lock and her tongue darted out of her mouth to lick her lips as she concentrated on moving them exactly right to click the lock over. She fought to keep her hands steady when sweat broke out across her forehead. She was running out of time.
* Ruby applied a bit too much pressure and the pin snapped, falling uselessly into the locked drawer. “Damn you to hell, mother!” she cursed and sat back, wiping her slick brow.
* She’d always viewed herself as a sensible girl, a dutiful daughter, and an honest friend. She could only imagine the horror on Vi’s face if she saw her now. A common thief. A midnight prowler. A defiler of privacy.
* Although, it could not be helped.
* She sought answers and at the moment all she had was an endless list of questions.
* Gaining her feet once more, she bundled her kit and slipped it back into her pocket. She turned her attention to the long table against the wall behind the desk. Leaning over, she ran her hand along the underside of the ornately carved piece, feeling for hidden compartments or—if her luck returned—a forgotten folder of papers.
* “Sherry, Miss Ruby?” an oddly familiar voice asked behind her.
