A look at Michelle Roth & 'Bite Me' @mroth_author @evernightpub #transfiguredones

Hi there, everyone! I'm Michelle Roth and I'm here to introduce my latest release, Bite Me. It's the second in my vampire paranormal series, The Transfigured Ones. Magnus Corbett, my hero, was modeled a bit after Gordon Ramsey. I wanted him to be a rough around the edges guy who didn't necessarily have time for love. I knew, whoever I matched him with would either need to be a bad ass chick who didn't take any crap.. or she'd need to be so sweet that she called to the softer side of him. Caroline Lundquist is both of those things.
If you've got any questions about the book, for me as the author, or about the series in general, feel free to use the #transfiguredones hash tag and I'll do my best to answer!
BiteMe-EvernightPublishing-JayAheer2015-smallpreview
Magnus Corbett is the world renowned head chef for Usquebaugh, the wildly popular restaurant and whiskey bar inside the Foxwood Hotel and Casino. He's certain that it was his status as one of the Transfigured that put him on the map. It will be bold flavors and his tireless work ethic that keep him there. And, if he has to be a little blunt to get things done? So be it.
When bar manager, Caroline Lundquist, develops a line of cocktails to breathe some life into the drink menu, she's determined to have new gin-inspired dishes to pair with them. During their collaboration she finds herself falling for the side of Magnus that people rarely see. He's sweet. Compassionate. Caring. As they begin to navigate the perils of a vampire-human relationship, both of their pasts crop up, threatening to destroy everything they're working so hard to build together.

  1. If you had a free day with no responsibilities and your only mission was to enjoy yourself, what would you do? Free time? What's that? I don't get much, but I prefer to fiddle in the kitchen or read a book. I deal with people day in and day out, so when it comes to my downtime, I can be a bit selfish.
  2. What impression do you make on people when they first meet you? How about after they’ve known you for a while? I've lived a long time. If I expend any time or energy on someone, I tend to expect a lot. I try to weed out the assholes, liars, and other bad apples. People probably find that incredibly abrasive. In the end, once I feel like I can trust someone, they know that I'm loyal. My own family kind of checked out on me, so I sort of make my own.
  3. What’s your idea of a good marriage? Do you think that’ll happen in your life? I grew up in a typical stodgy British home. I doubt my parents even liked each other, let alone loved each other. I haven't a clue what makes a good marriage. I'd hold on to it tightly if I ever thought I found it, though.
  4. What are you most proud of about your life? I'm a world renowned chef. I can work anywhere I choose. I did that in spite of this being a non-Transfigured dominated industry.
- And what about something more personal? Living your dream? Making something out of nothing? How is that not personal? Did you write these bloody questions?
- Why is that so meaningful to you? I did it completely on my own. My family kicked me when I was seventeen. I managed to finish high school and go to culinary school on my own. There was no silver spoon or college fund. I did it on my own.
  1. What are you most ashamed of in your life? I could have been nicer to people, looking back. I don't always have to be so abrupt. I find it easier, though. I definitely could have been nicer.
  2. If you could spend the day with someone you admire (living or dead or imaginary), who would you pick? Auguste Escoffier. The man was bloody brilliant. I'd love to sit down and pick his brain.
  3. Do you think you’ve turned out the way your parents expected?
I don't think they had much hope for me. They pretty much checked out of my life when they found out I was Transfigured. Then they fought for the next decade or so about who had the faulty genetics. I don't think they thought much about me at all. I'd love to say I didn't think of them, but it would be a lie. I do. And it's not kindly.
  4. What do you believe about God? What do you suppose God thinks of you?
There's a lot of pain and suffering in the world. People get sick. People lose loved ones to horrible accidents. Meanwhile, there are some of us who live forever whether we want to or not. It doesn't seem fair. I'm not sure a kind and loving god would do something like that.
  5. Is there anything you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t done? What would happen if you did it? It's been roughly forty years since I've been to the beach during the day. I'd love to do that but it would destroy my skin and eventually kill me. Painful.
  6. What’s the worst thing that’s happened in your life? What did you learn from it?
I'd probably say that my family is the worst thing to happen to me. What kind of awful parents withhold love from a child because of a genetic defect they can't control? No matter whether my children are Transfigured or not, I'd love them. That's what I learned, I guess. Tolerance.
  7. Tell me about your best friend. Veronica is my best friend and my sous chef. She's probably one of the few people who puts up with my crap. I trust her implicitly. She's probably the closest thing that I have to a sister.
  8. What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done to someone? Why? Despite the fact I'm a bit of a prick sometimes, I don't intentionally hurt people. I've had to fire a few wayward souls, but that's about it. They either stole, lied, or didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground.
  9. What would you like it to say on your tombstone? Since we pretty much just turn to a pile of ash, a tombstone seems a bit much.
  10. Describe your ideal mate. She'd need to be strong. Someone who didn't take any of my garbage. She'd have to be engaging. A good conversationalist. Well read. Smart. Funny. Beautiful wouldn't hurt but it's not a prerequisite. Not a bloody stick figure. She'd need to enjoy eating, because I would enjoy cooking for her. Taking care of her in that way.
  11. What are you most afraid of? Failure. Being alone for eternity. The usual suspects.
  12. What’s the most important thing in your life? What do you value most?
My space. I can only handle so much social interaction, so having my personal space is hugely important. I feel like, with time alone, I recharge.
  13. What do you like best about yourself? Least? I'm driven to succeed. I prefer to be solitary most of the time. I know that's not exactly healthy.
  14. How do you feel about your life right now? What, if anything, would you like to change?
I've got a good life, for the most part. I'm happy with my career. I'd like to find someone to settle down with, though.
  15. Are you lying to yourself about something? What is it?
There's a part of me that wishes that I wasn't so solitary, that wants to be outgoing and friendly. I want to be social, and happy go lucky. I just don't trust people.
  16. What trait do you most deplore in others?
People who lack common sense. Critical thinking skills are important in life, and there are people who don't develop them or refuse to. Drives me bloody mad!

A Look At Michelle Roth & 'Trouble Walked In' @mroth_author @evernightpub #shifter

Today we have author Michelle Roth visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Michelle Roth is a novelist from the Great White North (Toronto, ON). When she’s not disappearing into foreign lands, or making two perfect strangers that she invented fall in love, she’s probably curled up somewhere with a glass of wine and a good book.
* In her spare time she is typically hanging out with her awesome boyfriend and their two equally awesome cats. She likes taking road trips to nowhere in particular, cooking elaborate meals then making other people do the dishes, and being nerdy on the internet. Her books are currently available on Amazon, Nook, Kobo, and any other place that sells absolutely filthy romance novels.
* Hi there, everyone! I'm Michelle Roth and I'm here to introduce my latest release, Trouble Walked In [The Forsaken Few 1]. This story started as a submission for the Bad Alpha Anthology but quickly grew out of control with regards to word count. There was no way I was going to be able to tell the story I wanted to in a measly 10,000 words!
* Once that was clear, I decided the book was more important than the anthology. It became MUCH easier from then on! Rather than just a wolf shifter story, I decided that I would make this about something larger. Lorelei, Florida was born.
* Each forsaken by their own kind, a small community of shifters from all walks of life have come together to form an unbreakable bond that defies the laws of nature. Both the hunters and the hunted stand side by side to protect themselves from all who would threaten their way of life.
* This is Ronan and Moira's story...

A look into...
~ Blurb ~
* The moment Moira Devereaux walks into his bar, Shapeshifter Ronan Kelly knows she's going to be trouble. No matter how tempting she is, he won't risk the safety of his makeshift pack. He has every intention of sending her on her way until he hears her compelling story.
* When Moira's father, the mayor of Lorelei, tries to force her to wed a man she doesn't know, she runs to one place he won't follow. The local shifter bar. Nothing could have prepared her for the immediate attraction she feels for the owner, Ronan.
* In a moment of weakness, Ronan offers her a job and a place to stay despite his misgivings. No one is more shocked than he is when he discovers that she's his mate. Will he be able to convince her that he's worth taking a risk on or will he be forced to let her go?
~ Character Interview ~
If you had a free day with no responsibilities and your only mission was to enjoy yourself, what would you do?
* I don't get a whole lot of free time, but when I do, I love to drive out to the national forest and go for a run. When you get deep enough into it, there's a section where humans don't travel. There's something about having my paws in the dirt that makes me feel connected to the universe. Nothing like it.
What impression do you make on people when they first meet you? How about after they’ve known you for a while?
* Well now, I think that depends on the person. I'm a big guy, so I think I probably give off a heavy 'don't fuck with me' vibe. Once someone knows me for a while, I think they realize that for my friends, I'm as loyal as they come.
What’s your idea of a good marriage? Do you think that’ll happen in your life?
* I'll let you know if I ever see one. (snorts) My father treated my mom like an indentured servant. Raised his hands to her on occasion. I can tell you for sure what DOESN'T make a good marriage. Having your alpha mate fucking terrified of you. I- I don't want to talk about this anymore. Can we move on to something less depressing?
What are you most proud of about your life?
* I've been on my own since I was 18. Managed to not get myself killed in Iraq and Afghanistan during the war. Came home and worked my ass off until I had enough money to buy the bar. I made something of myself.
- And what about something more personal?
* I'd say that's pretty personal.
- Why is that so meaningful to you?
* When I left home at 18, my old man was just waiting for me to come crawling back to the ready-made life I had waiting for me. I think I shocked them all by making something of myself. Anything that can make that bastard choke on his words is meaningful to me.
What are you most ashamed of in your life?
* Shit. You're really into me talking about my feelings, aren't you? I'd have to say that leaving my mother behind. She was the only one in my family that showed the least bit of kindness to me. I send cards at Christmas but I have yet to hear back. I doubt I ever will.
If you could spend the day with someone you admire (living or dead or imaginary), who would you pick?
* My mother. That woman could give a hug. I don't know if she'd be inclined to at this point but it'd be worth finding out, I suppose.
Do you think you’ve turned out the way your parents expected?
* Not a chance.
What do you believe about God? What do you suppose God thinks of you?
* Of course I believe in the Earth Mother. It's hard to be part wolf and not be able to feel her. When I'm shifted and touching the earth, I can feel her like a heartbeat. It's comforting.
Is there anything you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t done? What would happen if you did it?
* That's a tough question. I'm my own man, so I basically do whatever I want to. I think I wanna skip this question.
What’s the worst thing that’s happened in your life? What did you learn from it?
* War. It's nasty business. I saw some shit that really screwed me up for a long time. Two tours in Iraq, one in Afghanistan. Dead children. What did I learn? I fucking hate the war.
Tell me about your best friend.
* I've got a couple. I'd say Ty and Sarge are probably my closest friends. Can we not call them best friends? It sounds like we're about to slumber party.
What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done to someone? Why?
* I've killed them. I'm not proud of it, but it was the war, ya know?
What would you like it to say on your tombstone?
* No tombstone. Cremate me, please. Throw a party, don't do any of that somber shit where everyone's in black.
Describe your ideal mate.
* I'm thinking that whole ideal mate thing is just a myth. I somehow don't think there's anyone out there for me. It's a punishment for abandoning my position as Alpha, I think.
What are you most afraid of?
* This goes back to the last question. Never being forgiven. I don't give a shit about my father but, it's hard to be alone.
What’s the most important thing in your life? What do you value most?
* My makeshift pack, I guess. I'd fight for them. Die for them if need be. What's more important than that?
What do you like best about yourself? Least?
* No matter what life throws at me, I move forward. The other side of that coin is that I keep things locked up tight. I wonder if that won't come back to bite me in the ass some day.
How do you feel about your life right now? What, if anything, would you like to change?
* It's a good life, for the most part. A little bit lonely. I don't know that I have time for a relationship, really, but it'd be nice at this point in my life. Settle down, have a couple cubs.
Are you lying to yourself about something? What is it?
* I don't think so.
What trait do you most deplore in others?
* I can't stand bullies. People who are mean just to be mean. That sets me off more than anything else. I can forgive a lot but cruelty isn't one of those things.

What are you going to tell us about today?
* Hi there, everyone! I'm Michelle Roth and I'm here to introduce my latest release, Slow Burn. This is the second in my Romance on the Go series, Diamond and Diamond Private Investigators. In this sexy installment you'll get to know Rick Diamond. He's the driving force behind Diamond and Diamond.
* Rick is painstakingly dedicated to his job. When the CEO of Cynertex contacts him about a case of corporate espionage, he goes undercover in a science lab to find out who's selling company secrets. All hell breaks loose when he realizes that he's falling for his main suspect!
A look into...
~ Blurb ~
* While working undercover in the Cynertex development department, Private Investigator Rick Diamond finds himself taking a very personal interest in one of the lab technicians, Tessa. He's completely shocked, though, when he discovers that he's falling for his prime suspect.
* Tessa Fitzsimmons finds herself immediately drawn to Rick Dante, the new intern at work. She's captivated by his charm and his nearly heart stopping grin. All it takes is one incredibly passionate night together and already she's beginning to see a future for them.
* Rick knows he's taking a huge risk by dating a suspect but he can't seem to help himself. If she's guilty, it will absolutely tear him apart. And, if she's innocent? She might not be able to forgive him when she finds out who he really is.
~ Excerpt ~
* Tessa laughed as she pulled him toward the Twirling Teacups.
* Rick groaned and asked, “You know they're gonna take away my man card, right? I just have to give it to the guy taking the tickets.”
* “C'mon,” she said, nudging him. “We can't come to Centreville and not ride the teacups!”
* She tried not to laugh as he made a big production out of it. He counted the tickets, then looked at the ride. Then he looked back at her and asked, “I can drive, right?”
* Deadpan, she said, “I thought I would drive.”
* He raised his eyebrow but said nothing. The slight smirk on his face spoke volumes though. It clearly said, “There is no way I'm letting a chick drive me around in a teacup.”
* “Fine. You can drive.”
* Rick grinned and handed the tickets to the ticket collector, who clearly overheard her complaint if the smirk on his face was any indication. He just pointed and said, “You folks can have the pink one on the right.”
* Tessa laughed and said, “Oh good. My favorite color.”
* Rick said nothing, though his look promised retribution. He merely slid into the tea cup and patted the bench next to him.
* When she was seated next to him, her thigh brushed against his.
* His tone conversational, he said, “So, this is the most emasculating first date I've ever had. This is a record.”
* “So, I guess that means no carousel?” Tessa teased, as the music started up and the ride began to slowly move.
* In answer, he grinned and then spun the wheel so she swayed into his chest. She started to right herself, but Rick put a halt to that when he wrapped an arm around her. Most of her upper body was now pressed against his chest.
* The look on Rick's face was a mixture of both amusement and desire. As they continued to spin, neither of them manning the wheel, his smile faded. With a look of concentration, he slowly closed the distance between their mouths.
* Tessa stretched up, pressing her lips against his. At the first brush of her lips against his, she felt a jolt of awareness run through her. When his hand came up to cradle her cheek, she let out a soft sigh of pleasure. He took the opportunity to deepen the kiss, his tongue exploring her mouth, twining with hers.
* She couldn't stop the soft moan that rose from the back of her throat as his hands cruised lazily along her hips and back. Even through the layers of her sundress and the thin cotton sweater she wore, she could feel the heat of his hands on her body.
* His hands moved to tangle in her hair as he gentled the kiss. But instead of backing away as she expected, Rick began to nibble at her jaw and then trace a path down the side of her throat with his tongue.
* Tessa could do nothing but tilt her neck and enjoy the sensations as he swirled and nipped at her. Her arousal grew with every hot, open mouthed kiss he placed against her sensitive neck. It was clear he knew exactly what he was doing.

A Look At Michelle Roth & 'The Darkness Calls' @mroth_author @evernightpub #paranormal #romance

What are you going to tell us about today?
* Hi there, everyone! I'm Michelle Roth and I'm here to introduce my latest release, The Darkness Calls [The Transfigured Ones]. This book is entirely new territory for me. Where most of my works have been ultra-realistic contemporary romance, I wanted to add in a touch of the paranormal here!
* I was daydreaming one afternoon, as I'm prone to doing and I wondered what life would be like if we lived in a world where we actually knowingly co-existed with vampires. Not in an overtly us vs. them way like the Sookie Stackhouse series, but in a world where all the fuss had long since died down. What would that universe look like? How would humans and vampires interact? How would they feed? How would they work? Interesting questions, right?
* In The Darkness Calls, you'll find answers!
A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* When Lilly Ferguson narrowly avoids being mugged after work, she's shocked to find that she's gotten the attention of Talan McKenna. He's the sinfully handsome owner of the Foxwood Casino and Spa where she works. There's only one problem, though...
* Talan is one of the Transfigured. Like half a million others across the globe, he possesses a very specific genetic mutation. It leaves him with the inability to age, an aversion to sunlight, and a thirst for human blood. When he learns of Lilly's tragic past, he worries that it's an obstacle he'll never be able to overcome.
* Despite her heartbreaking history with the Transfigured, Lilly immediately senses that Talan is different. Where her fears once lay, there's only a sense of peace and comfort. Just as they begin to build a love made to last several lifetimes, a shadowy figure from her past emerges and threatens to destroy everything.
~ Excerpt ~
* Within ten minutes, she was surrounded by two security officers and a doctor. He gently prodded at the knot on the back of her head, while she held ice against her throbbing cheek. As he started to shine a small flashlight into her eyes, she heard a deep voice in the hallway murmur, “Where’s the girl? Was she seriously hurt?”
* When he stepped through the door, she realized it was the owner of the casino. She had seen glimpses of him on occasion, but she’d never actually spoken to him. His eyes swept the room and landed on her.
* She blinked in surprise as he knelt down next to the doctor, so he was eye level. His eyes settled on the bag of ice she held against her face. He didn’t speak. The small tic in his cheek was the only reason she could visibly tell that he was upset. Otherwise, his facial expression gave away nothing. His voice was devoid of any emotion when he spoke. “Miss...” he paused, prompting her for her name.
* “Lilly. Lilly Ferguson.”
* He nodded and continued, “Miss Ferguson. You’re okay?”
* She winced. “I hit my head. He hit me in the face. Otherwise, I’m fine.”
* His eyes swept over her, as if he was trying to verify for himself. His eyes took in her bag. The strap had a tear, but for the most part it was still intact.
* Lilly followed his line of sight and took in the torn bag. “That was a casualty of war, too, I guess,” she said with a smirk.
* A slight smile curved his lips as he said, “I’m sorry for your loss. I’m surprised you didn’t just give it to him, though.”
* “I’m not willing to part with what little I own, Mr. McKenna,” she answered honestly.
* He nodded as if he understood.
* Lilly stared blankly at him. She had serious difficulty thinking he’d be able to relate to her in any way. He was one of the Transfigured. Rich as Croesus, he owned the casino, and was a huge power player among his kind.
* Her thoughts must have been written all over her face because he said, “I’ve had almost five hundred years to become who I am, Little One. I can still remember when I had nothing. When I was nothing. I admire your spirit.”
* She swallowed, uncertain.
* “Will you be okay to drive home?” he asked.
* The doctor cut in from the other side of the security office. She hadn’t even realized that he’d moved. He said, “I wouldn’t recommend it, Mr. McKenna. She needs to rest in a dark, quiet room at the very least for the next eight hours. She’s showing signs of a mild concussion.”
* “Very well,” he said, addressing the doctor. He turned to face her and said, “Someone from the hotel will ensure that you get home safely.”
* “But,” she asked. “What about my car?”
* “It can be delivered to you. When do you work next?”
* She blinked, trying to fight the fuzziness in her mind, and said, “Tomorrow afternoon.”
* He shook his head and said, “We’ll reassign your shifts for the next two days. Take the time off.”
* “Thank you,” Lilly said. She couldn’t imagine doing much of anything except laying under her blankets, if her head persisted in feeling like this.
* “Keys,” he prompted.
* She picked them up, then she winced as there was dried blood caked on the car key. She gingerly removed it from the ring and said, “Sorry. It may need a rinse. I managed to gouge him a couple of times.”
* His eyes widened incredulously for a moment before he reached out and took the key from her.
* He didn’t seem to have an aversion to the bloody key. It was, she supposed, his meal of choice. A slow smile, a genuine one, pulled across his face. He said, “Yes, Miss Ferguson, I do admire your spirit.”

A Look At Michelle Roth & 'Shakedown' @mroth_author @evernightpub #erotic #suspense

Her books are currently available on Amazon, Nook, Kobo, and any other place that sells absolutely filthy romance novels.

What are you going to tell us about today?
* Hi there, everyone! I'm Michelle Roth and I'm here to introduce my latest release, Shakedown. Diamond and Diamond is a bit of a departure from anything that I've written thus far. My previous works have all been ultra-realistic contemporary romance. Shakedown still has the sexy, steamy elements just like any other erotic romance, but it also incorporates a bit of suspense and mystery as well. I certainly hope you enjoy!
A look into the story

~ Blurb ~
* Private Detective Mike Diamond is the low man on the totem pole. More often than not he finds himself investigating insurance fraud or cheating spouses. When he's assigned a dog-napping case, he is on the brink of refusing until he meets the client. One look at her changes everything.
* When the police refuse to investigate her case, Cassidy Werner turns to Diamond and Diamond Private Investigators. Despite the bad first impression he's given her, Cassidy still hires Mike to help her find her prize Tibetan Mastiff. As she gets to know him, she realizes that he's not only dedicated to getting Roddy back for her, but also a pretty great guy.
* Right after she receives a ransom demand, things begin to heat up between them. Will Mike be able to crack the case and save her dog? And if he can, does that mean that he gets the girl too?
~ Excerpt ~
* He was relieved to find the lobby was empty, so he stopped back at Lara's desk and asked, “Can you believe that shit? A dog napping?”
* He didn't think for a minute she hadn't overheard every word. That woman was like the KGB and Secret Service all in one. Anything happened in this office, she had it under immediate surveillance.
* Lara cuffed him on the arm and said, “She's in the bathroom, idiot.”
* Mike winced, feeling bad he'd probably been overheard. But, seriously, who hired a PI to find a lost dog?
* Seconds later, the bathroom door slowly opened. He almost did a double take as the woman stepped out. Aside from red eyes that had clearly been crying, she was a looker.
* She was elegantly dressed and somewhere near his age, with a riot of auburn curls trailing down her back, like some sort of mermaid siren. All ripe, lush curves. He'd always liked his women soft.
* And, he was ogling this obviously distraught woman like she was a steak. Not that he wouldn't be more than interested in taking a bite, but it was clear that now wasn't the time. So instead of voicing his thoughts, he stuck his hand out and said, “Mike Diamond. And you are?”
* “Cassidy Werner,” she said, not bothering to stick her hand out.
* Well, apparently she'd heard him. He'd need to apologize, if the look on her face was any indication. He dropped his hand and said, “My office is this way.”
* She gave him a look that screamed 'You're on thin ice, buddy' but moved toward the open office door that Mike had gestured to. He followed her, once again appreciating the hourglass waist and full hips. Damn.
* He moved behind his desk and gestured to one of the worn chairs. When she had settled in, he asked, “So I understand your dog has been kidnapped?”
