Hi all! I hope the start of 2011 has found everyone happy and healthy. I, for one, am looking forward to what the New Year will bring and am glad 2010 is finally behind me. My mantra: 2011 will be a wonderful year.
This past holiday season was a nice one. Hubby’s company put on an awesome holiday party at the Red Rock Hotel and Casino. For a banquet that fed over 200 people, the food was superb. I’ve been to Red Rock a handful of times, but never to the side where the conference center section is. The event was held in one of the conference/ballrooms. One word for it: elegant. Two of the many door prizes the company was giving away was a Kindle and an IPad. I kept hoping hubby would win one of the two. He didn't. :( (But he picked up on my interest in the gadgets and got me a Kindle for Christmas. Love it.) The 80’s cover band the company hired to play was excellent also, full of energy. Christmas Eve we went down to a friend’s house, met some new people, had lots of food, then on Christmas she and her family came up to our place. They enjoyed the fact that hubby decorated the bathroom. 
On NYE they came over again and once more we put out a spread. 
The drink of the night was a spiked milkshake made with vanilla ice cream, amaretto, crème de cacao, and Hershey’s chocolate syrup. YUM!

From our house we can only see the fireworks that are set off on top of the Stratosphere.

I’m a quiet, reserved person and getting online for chats or talking on loops or blogging/tweeting about ‘whatever’ is awkward for me. I’m hoping to change that this year and be more visible. I aim to have special guest appearances from fellow authors or industry members at least twice a month, to chronicle what I’m doing in regard to my resolutions to lose weight, get fit & write something I can submit to an agent, to keep you up-to-date on releases, to give you insights into the wonderful city I live in and the surrounding area and to write about whatever hits my fancy at any given time. ;) Along with this, I’m hoping to give away some great prizes over the course of the year—starting with a drawing for a ten dollar gift certificate to either All Romance or OmniLit—online ebook distributors.
