What would you like to tell readers about yourself?

* Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Alison now lives in Southern Nevada where she’s still getting used to the blistering summers and the slot machines in every grocery store.

* Although his father had made good money and left them fairly well-off after he died, his mom always believed that he should learn the value of money. It was a lesson he’d learned well, and to this day, he hadn’t touched one dollar of the money his father had left him. He wanted to make something of himself on his own terms, not because he had connections or an inheritance.
* “Wally gave me the set list yesterday. It looks like it’s pretty much the same as before,” he said, after an uncomfortable silence.
* “For the most part.” Jessie tucked a strand of dark hair behind her ear. “The only difference is, I’ve changed up the order so that some of my older stuff is sprinkled throughout the set. Works better that way.”
* He nodded. “So what the hell happened to Kenny? Wally said he broke his arm?”
* Jessie rolled her eyes. “The damn fool decided to take a swan dive off the stage, and because he’d had a couple of fireballs before the show, he miscalculated how close the audience was to the stage and fell smack dab onto the concrete floor.”
* Drew gasped, equally shocked and amused at the picture she’d painted. “Jesus. Are you serious?”
* Her lips curved upwards with a ghost of a smile. It was something, even if it wasn’t the usual mega-watt smile she gave him when they used to hang out together. “It’s true. I couldn’t make something like that up. Broke his arm in two places.”
* “Ouch.” He winced, thinking of the pain Kenny must have been in. “So he’ll be laid up for a while?”
* “Looks like it,” she said. Then, without warning, her tone turned frosty again, and the laughter vanished from her eyes. “Well, we should get started. Do you feel comfortable with all the songs?”
* “Yeah. I could do them in my sleep,” he said, then frowned. “Did that sound cocky?”
* “No. Just confident.” Her unreadable eyes roamed over his face. “Wally wants us to do a duet.”
* “I know.”
* He’d taken a look at the sheet music and recognized the song immediately. Anybody who’d ever attended a wedding in the last twenty years would probably be aware of the hit ballad that was popular in the early ‘80s. It was a nice song, and one that would suit his and Jessie’s harmonies to a tee.
* “I’m not sold on the idea, but he seems to think it’ll be good for the CMT taping.”
* “Whatever you decide is fine with me.” He brushed his hair back from his eyes and held her gaze. “I miss talking to you, Jessie,” he said, unable to stop himself.
* Her eyes flickered with some unknown emotion, which vanished as quickly as it came.
* “We should get to work. Time’s a wastin’.” And with that, she turned her back on him, moved to the center mic near the front of the stage and never looked back.

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?

* I met my very own romance novel hero at the tender age of sixteen. Joe sat in front of me in Geometry class and it was love at first sight...poor guy. We married in 1998, and have been through our share of trials and celebrations, and I wouldn't have it any other way. My critique partners are greatful for Joe because he hides my chainsaw, and any other sharp objects I might try to play with. Not to mention keeping me satisfied with an endless supply of Dove Milk Chocolate and Riesling.
* From the time I was little I wanted to be a writer. I was forever penciling stories in a beat up notebook while on the school bus. Instead of paying attention in classes—any classes—I would hide behind my school books and dream up a new adventure for my characters.

What are you going to tell us about today?
* My contemporary suspense romance, Legacy of Deception.
* Legacy of Deception started off as a modern take on Sleeping Beauty. This story went through at least four variations and took over five years to complete. Frankie was supposed to be a stodgy attorney with a cameo appearance, but he very quickly shed the stuffy persona and burst to life in sequins and feathers. Through many critiques, tears, and hair pulling, these characters helped me shape this book into a story I am proud to claim.

~ Blurb ~ * Becca Mendelson finds a letter, written in her deceased mother's hand, describing events and circumstances so unbelievable, she travels thousands of miles to a strange country to discover the truth about her heritage.
* Gannon Tavish has one mission--to protect the royal family and his country at any cost. When a beautiful stranger, looking a lot like the queen, shows up in the country's capitol researching a twenty-five year old kidnapping, his instincts go on high alert.

Well, it looks like my summer is heating up. I have a hot menage, Sunset Temptations coming out through Decadent Publishing at the end of the month (May 31) and hopefully another one (Sunset Heat) in the next few months. Check out the HAWT covers for them to the right & click on them if you want some info on the stories! My writing partner, RM Sotera, and I are working on a few more Double D Ranch Tales. Life's gonna be heating up on and off the ranch for the gang. In a short story that's almost ready for submission, Kent's going to meet his lady. Our next full length follows the gang to Grand Cayman where some wet, wild and interesting times will be had. And in a couple of other stories new people will be introduced to the ranch and surrounding area.
On another note, DH and I are hoping to travel a couple of times. See some friends inland and go relax on an island for a long weekend at another time. Escape the sweltering heat of Las Vegas. Maybe during the trips I'll find inspiration for more steamy stories!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
R.M. Sotera is a romance vixen stuck in the body of a prim and proper woman. A transplant to Las Vegas, by day she is a wife, mom, taxi driver, counselor, and psychologist to her wild and, at times, crazy friends. But when the family goes to bed and the house is dark, she seeks refuge in her office where her deepest desires take hold. And…ultimately a story is born. RM has 8 books – 1 short story – and several journalistic articles published.

What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
Today I’m going to discuss the short story that I have published with Ravenous Romance titled Vegas Vampire. This very short story is about a single woman (a teacher) who keeps having erotic dreams. What she does not realize is that her next door neighbor, a vampire, the man staring in her wildest fantasies, is ready to take dream land into reality land. It’s a story about crossing sexual boundaries into a world where vanilla sex is non-existent. It’s about accepting the odds even if they don’t fall in one’s favor.

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
I love vampires. Need I say more?

Describe the hero in five words.
Sexy, Driven, Bold, Humorous, Careful

Describe the heroine in five words.
Timid, Humorous, Sexy, Accepting, Understanding

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
Since there are only two, I love them both for different reasons. Josh Kraven is bold and driven – his traits make him even more desirable since he’s a vampire. Samantha Lanza is a typical teacher. She’s careful and determined for every event in her life to make sense and have a place. Needless to say, Josh upsets that cart early on.

What's your favorite line in the story?
One of my favorite lines is when Josh says to Sam – “I know your fantasy is to tie you up on a bed in the middle of the yard, but baby, I really don’t want to get arrested so the weight bench on the porch will have to do.”

~ Excerpt ~ * Champagne? This Halloween just might be a night to go down in the history books, a glass of the bubbly with my hot neighbor in my French maid outfit. New Beginnings. It really couldn’t get any better than this. I glanced his way before heading into my home and had to do a double take because I could’ve sworn he was smirking as he walked away.
* I changed in record time. Actually, I hadn’t realized just how scarce the material of my French maid outfit consisted of until I had to waste time walking from room to room in my home as not to appear overzealous by showing up as soon as fifteen minutes later at his home. My earlier train of thought came back to roll over me once more. Over the past year, I’d had so many dreams where Josh was the star, and of course I’d wake up completely soaked with sweat for two reasons. One, he was my neighbor, and two, I couldn’t believe I’d sexually do the things I’d dreamt about.
* After glancing at the clock above my stove for the umpteenth time I was thrilled to see that thirty-five minutes had passed since my invite. I grabbed a black shawl, my small black leather clutch, and slipped on my stilettos before heading out the door.
* I turned to gaze at my house one more time, just to make sure all of the Halloween lights and mechanical creatures worked, and then I’d glanced around the cul-de-sac to take in the other decorated homes.
* Spooky as shit.
* Our street would surely win the ‘most scary’ street again this year.
* When I reached Josh’s place he stood on the porch tinkering with the blinking neon vampire standing to the left of his front door.
* Serious Aqua eyes met mine.
* “You are fucking hot.” Josh said the words and had invited me inside but it was really hard for me to walk over my lip when it dangled at my feet. “Sam, are you coming inside?”

Today I wanted to share a bit about the ladies in my 1NS Sunset stories. :)

In Sunset Desires I introduce the four Tramonto women ~ Gwen and her sister Ivy and their cousins Heather and Seana. And in this story, set in Grand Cayman, Gwen has her 1NS date which was set up by Heather. In fact, Heather is the mastermind behind all the 1NS dates for the women. Nice of her, eh? So here's Gwen, not a classic beauty but not ugly either, who's an overworked cocktail waitress on vacation with her family when the date is sprung on her.    Sunset Seduction sees Heather having her own date. She's a strong woman who's been independent for years and successful in business.    The last book Sunset Heat ties in with book three since Ivy, Kiran, and Seana are heading to the same place for some pre-high school reunion events. 1NS Bl0g H0p ~ Day 2 ~ The Beauty and Romance of a Sunset ( #FF @crmoss @decadentpub #1NSHop )

Sunsets. Viewing them is a simple pleasure of mine. The phenomena are such a beauty to behold and so varied in their coloring depending upon location, season, and atmospheric conditions. It’s due to living in Las Vegas that spurred on my love of sunsets. [See, it’s not all about the strip and gambling! ;)] I’ve seen some spectacular ones with gorgeous fiery reds, oranges, and yellows or amethyst and fuchsia to name a couple. This is a picture I took of a sunset near a place I used to live in.

In the summer of 2008 I went on my first cruise. We stopped at ports in Cozumel and Grand Cayman. It was so nice enjoying the beauty of the water, the beaches and the sunsets, especially since we live hours from an ocean beach in a desert area. One late afternoon we were hanging out on a patio just off one of the ship’s dining rooms and experienced a beautiful golden sunset.

Did you know that there is a little place called Hell on Grand Cayman? In Hell you’ll find a group of short, black, limestone formations roughly the size of half a soccer field. There are two viewing platforms for tourists since people aren’t allowed to traverse in the area. It’s claimed that the name derived from the fact that if a pebble is thrown out into the formation, it echoes amongst the limestone peaks and valleys and sounds as if the pebble is falling all the way down to hell. But I digress… We spent the bulk of our time on Seven Mile beach and had food and drinks at a little bar/restaurant. The open air, pub-style beach bar reminded me of a Southern-style wraparound porch except this place had a tin roof. The experience of the cruise and visiting Grand Cayman inspired me to write a few stories, including my first Decadent Publishing 1NS release Sunset Desires.

Sunset Desires ~ A blind date. A hot tropical evening. She’ll be someone he can’t forget. He’ll fulfill her ultimate fantasy.

Back to Las Vegas… I love setting stories in the city, not just because I live here but also because, like sunsets, it’s such a diverse place—lots to do and see on the strip and off. My next sunset story, Sunset Seduction, takes place in a hotel room in Las Vegas. The characters have a view of the city and mountains and both take note of the setting sun. I describe the sunset’s colors as the sun settles and dips behind the western range, setting the scene for romance. And, the cover—done in the spirit of the story, sunsets and the exciting city of Las Vegas—is hot!

Aside from my love of sunsets, there’s another reason ‘sunset’ is used in the titles for the stories I’m writing, but you’ll have to read them to find out what it is. ;)

1NS Bl0g H0p ~ Day 1 ~ Las Vegas ( @crmoss @decadentpub #1NSHop )

Most people who know me know that I love living in the Las Vegas valley. One of the main reasons we moved from the Northeast to the southwest was because of the weather. The snow and rain and humidity got the better of us back east, and we couldn’t stand it anymore. People who know DH and I have often wondered and asked us about this considering we were born and raised in the north. Shouldn’t we have been acclimated to it all? Well, yes, once upon a time we had been, but right after we were married, we moved to Texas for a few years. It was there we realized we liked the warm weather and lack of snow, but circumstances had us returning to the northeast. After several more years back where we grew up, we knew we had to get out. Another big reason for our move, which was tied into the weather aspect of our decision, was that, at that time, my husband was into duathlons and triathlons. He was serious about his training and his goal was to make it to Kona, HI for the Ironman tri (Swim 2.4 miles, Bike 112 miles, Run 26.2 miles -- Ironman). So one hot, muggy, awful August day, I asked

him if we should move to a location that had better weather. He said yes, and less than a year later, we were in Las Vegas…enjoying the sun, the blue sky, the dry climate. Training was better for him since he didn’t have to contend with rain, snow, humidity…
   I was part of his support team, going to races as a spectator and volunteer, helping out on training runs and rides, acted as moral support in our home. Many mornings we were up at the crack of dawn…sometimes out the door by 4 AM to get to a race by 5 AM (yep, ‘two fives in a day’ and one is much too early for this ol’ girl. LOL!) One time here in town for the marathon, I spent close to four hours standing by myself near the finish line, guarding a bag of gear and goodies. It’s a good thing I have an imagination and know how to entertain myself!
   So, how did hubby and I decide on Las Vegas as a place to live? We traveled here for a number of vacations, then when we finally made the decision to relocate, we came out over a Thanksgiving weekend to look at homes. Talk about turkey overload. Hubby and I went to two different buffets that day! The first one was around lunch time. We ate at the Carnival World Buffet over at the Rio. Lots of food, great seafood and of course we had our share of the Tom bird. Later that day, actually into the evening when we realized we were hungry again (yes, hours later…lol!) we went to the buffet in the hotel we were staying in and had a second Turkey day meal. I’m amazed we didn’t pass out at the table or have to be rolled out of the dining area! Did you know that there are races here in town called Turkey Trot and Catch the Gobbler? They’re races between 5K and 10K and the events also offer 1 mile walks. We also came out one year for the marathon. This used to be when it was held at the end of January, beginning of February. The marathon is now held in the beginning of December. I’ve even written a couple of stories incorporating Las Vegas and the races.

So you might be asking ~ What does this all have to do with the 1NS series and my 1NS books? Well, I like using Las Vegas as a location and some of my experiences here in my stories. My first Decadent Publishing release, Sunset Desires, though not set completely in Las Vegas has a character from the area and the story ends in a Las Vegas casino. The second book, Sunset Seduction, is set in a hotel room (similar to one hubby and I stayed in when he was in the marathon) in Las Vegas and the last two books I’m planning will be set in and around the city. I’m excited about being with Decadent Publishing and being a part of their 1NS line of stories. Heat filled her cheeks. With a hard gulp, she nodded, not able to take her focus off his beautiful body. Each toned muscle created a wonderful form, from his defined deltoids and biceps to a six pack abdomen she could wash a shirt on. She chuckled internally. Her descriptive thought pattern may have been cliché, but appropriate all the same. He strolled over to her, his tall form of rippling muscle closing and destroying the buffer between them.
