a look at Rhonda Brewer & 'Dangerous Therapy' @rhondabrewer67 #Contemporary #RomanticSuspense #NKBlogTours

Today we have author Rhonda Brewer visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland. I’ve been with my husband for over thirty years and we have two children.
* I'm also a writer. Someone who loves to tell stories of love, suspense, heartache and of course happily ever after. For most of my life, I've written those stories for myself. A type of therapy, I suppose. I love the characters I create. They become part of who I am because there's part of me in them.
~ 25 Fun Facts! ~
1. I’m an only child but always wished I had lots of brothers and sisters. It’s why I enjoy writing stories about siblings.
2. The character of Nanny Betty is loosely based on my own late grandmother. She was a fire cracker but she was from a different part of the province.
3. My great grandfather worked with Guglielmo Marconi when he sent the first transatlantic message from Signal Hill in St. John’s, Newfoundland on December 12, 1901. He was hired because he was so tall and was better to hold the kites.
4. I’ve had most of the books in this series written for about 5 years but never had the courage to try to publish them until now.
5. I spent almost 30 years of my life on and off with cadets both as a cadet and then as an officer teaching kids from 9 to 13.
6. I learned to play the piano when I was in elementary school and took lessons up until high school but hated them because I was taught by a catholic nun who liked to rap fingers with a ruler.
7. Hopedale is actually a fictional town but it is like many small towns in Newfoundland. Everyone knows everyone else and the communities are close knit.
8. My husband and I are caretakers for his 48-year-old sister who has William Syndrome. It’s a developmental disability much like downs syndrome in that all the people have the same features.
9. I have been with my husband since I was 17. I literally married the boy next door.
10. Newfoundland has no crickets, porcupines, skunks, snakes or deer. We do, however, have a whole lot of moose…over 100,000. They were introduced over 100 years ago.
11. St. John’s is the oldest city in North America.
12. I have a computer programming degree.
13. Newfoundland has it’s own time zone. We are 30 minutes ahead of Atlantic Standard Time.
14. Newfoundland towns have some of the most amusing names in the world including Come by Chance, Joe Batt’s Arm, and yes Dildo.
15. September 11, 2001, 39 aircrafts were diverted to the tiny airport in Gander. More than 6,600 people (over 60% of the local population) were taken into homes for up to 3 days until the airspace reopened. Today, people who were stranded still visit their hosts who offered the ultimate acts of hospitality and kindness.
16. The accents between Waterford, Ireland and St. John’s, Newfoundland are nearly identical.
17. St. John’s, Newfoundland is the oldest city in North America.
18. The reason I based my books in Newfoundland is because it’s one of the most beautiful and romantic places I know.
19. One of my favorite television shows is Criminal Minds.
20. I can play wipe out on the glockenspiel.
21. My grandfather and mother encouraged my love of reading and books.
22. I love the smell of the ocean which is a good thing since Newfoundland is an island surrounded by water.
23. The first time I logged into a chat room was when I twisted my knee and couldn’t walk. My cousin suggested to go online but in 1998 it was all new and she told me not to use my real name so I used a name that I called my daughter from time to time. Sweet Kitty. I got a very rude awakening when I logged in with that name. However, I did meet some great friends online that I’m still friends with today.
24. I’m not a fan of tattoos and I don’t have any myself.
25. My kids call me a witch because no matter what I always find out when they are hiding something. They still don’t know my secret and they never will.

~ Blurb ~
* Officer John O’Connor is giving up on life after a terrible accident. His family are at their wits end when he refuses any kind of therapy. The only thing keeping him sane is his dreams of a beautiful woman he pulled in for a traffic violation months before.
* Physical Therapist Stephanie Kelly is healing from a broken heart. When she is hired by Nightingale’s personal care and physical therapy, she’s ecstatic but she's shocked when her boss asks her to take on a new patient. Shocked because the patient is her boss's nephew and he’s not exactly keen on therapy. He’s also the cop who's been heating up her dreams.
* As Stephanie helps John get back on his feet, they grow closer, but someone is out to hurt Stephanie, or worse. After multiple attempts on her life, John’s family tries to figure out who’s after the woman he loves and stop them before it’s too late.

'A Kiss in the Shadows' by #EveKincaid #Lily Danes @GoddessFish #RomanticSuspense

Today we have authors Eve Kincaid and Lily Danes visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourselves?
* Like so many good ideas, Lost Coast Harbor was inspired by a few rounds of margaritas. One sunny afternoon, Lily Danes and Eve Kincaid went to a Mexican restaurant for snacks and tequila and left with the idea for a new series. Inspired by their love of noir movies and 1940s crime novels, they imagined a gritty small town full of crime and corruption, where intrigue and mystery can lead to love and passion.
* Eve Kincaid is a lapsed lawyer who decided that fictional crime was more fun than the real deal. When she’s not writing about mysterious women and the dangerous and sexy men who love them, she’s probably shopping for books, lipstick, or imported cheeses to complement a nice California pinot noir.
* You can keep up with Eve’s new releases by signing up for her reader newsletter. She’d love to hear from you. Just don’t be creepy about it.

A look into...
~ Blurb ~
* Erin Grady is used to taking care of people. That’s why she’s thrilled to finally realize her dream of opening a clinic…and why she’s willing to overlook where the money came from—until a determined prosecutor comes sniffing around.
* Will Patton is desperate to leave the small fogbound town of Lost Coast Harbor and build a real career for himself. But to do that, he’ll need to expose the dirty police chief—and betray the woman who makes him wonder if he’s leaving town too soon.
* But the corruption in Lost Coast Harbor runs deep and wide—and exposing the truth will require Erin and Will to expose their hearts…no matter the risk.
~ Excerpt ~
* Erin studied Will in the pale illumination from the street lamp. The overhead light brought out his cheekbones and cast his eyes into shadows. The fine mist settled on his thick dark hair.
* God, he was really good looking. Objectively, she’d recognized this fact from the moment he’d fallen in front of her, and again when he was lounging in the hospital, trying to charm the nurses. But now, standing in the dark and cold night, alone… she couldn’t take her eyes off him.
* His lips turned up slightly and her stomach fluttered. She’d been staring too long, too intently. The heat burned up her neck to her cheeks.
* “How about the dinner I promised?” he asked.
* Erin shook her head. “You don’t have to do that.”
* As soon as the words slipped out, she wanted to take them back. His gaze intensified and the flutters in her stomach grew to tremors. She didn’t even like cops, and though he wasn’t in uniform, that’s basically what he was. He was the end result of law enforcement.
* “I want to.”
* She shivered and tried to tell herself it was the chill from the fog, but knew it wasn’t. It had been way too long since a man had looked at her like that.
* Oh, what the hell.
* “I have to get Colin home,” she said.
* “Tomorrow then,” he said. He still held her hand, his thumb casually stroking the inside of her wrist. The touch was intimate, familiar. Long-dormant parts of her body woke in a wave of longing and heat.
* “I can’t tomorrow. I, uh, have to—I have plans,” she said, with genuine regret.
* Will raised an eyebrow and Erin realized she was brushing off the only man who’d taken her breath away with a touch in, well, forever.
* “It seems that an awful lot of your vocabulary revolves around what you have to do,” he said, his head tilted slightly as he watched her. “How about this? I’m going down to the Crab Shack for dinner in about an hour, because it’s the only place open on a Monday night in this town. I’ll get a table for two. If you want to join me, I’d love the company.”
* What she wanted was a nearly foreign concept, something Will seemed to have picked up on. She could defend herself, argue that she did what she wanted. That would be a lie, though. And she did want to meet him later.
* “I’ll be there,” she said.
* It was a good opportunity to take Jerry's advice and talk to a prosecutor about the donation to the clinic, her rational mind said. It was just dinner.
* But with a man whose slightest touch sent her reeling, her body reminded her. So don’t be late.

Welcome Special Guest: author RM Sotera ( @rmsotera #FF @sirenbookstrand )

Today we have author RM Sotera visiting. RM is a romance vixen stuck in the body of a prim and proper woman. A transplant to Las Vegas, by day she is a wife, mom, taxi driver, counselor, and psychologist to her wild and, at times, crazy friends. But when the family goes to bed and the house is dark, she seeks refuge in her office where her deepest and sometimes darkest desires take hold. And…ultimately a story is born. She’s here today talking about her life as an author and her recent release, Cassadaga Moon, the first book in her Stiletto Sanction series of books, and her upcoming release, the second book in the series, Vegas Moon.

So, RM, what inspired you to become a writer?
My imagination needed a place to come alive, thus on the pages of a book I can make this happen. I’ve always kept diaries and journals, so for me writing has always been a part of my life.

When did you attempt your first story? What length was it? What's become of it?
My first book was over 100,000 words, and I attempted and finished it while attending graduate classes. I needed something else to concentrate on besides academic journals and books, and I had a story that was itching to be told. The book had been revised and edited several times, and sent to several agents. The manuscript had over 60 rejection letters to its name (and I’m damned proud of them!) before it became Cassadaga Moon and was picked up by Siren.

How many stories did you complete before you sold your first?
Many.

What genre(s) do you write in? What drew you to write in it/them? What’s your favorite genre of all to write in?
I write paranormal romance with erotic elements. I also have a humorous streak to my work. I’ve written contemporary, however, I’ve found that manuscript extremely hard to sell. I’ve always loved vampires, witches, and things that go bump in the night, which is why paranormal romance is my favorite. It totally suits me. I am working on a young adult that I hope to finish by the end of the summer. My favorite genre is paranormal, hands down.

What are the best and worst pieces of writing advice you ever received?
Let’s see…the best advice I received was to never give up on the dream if it’s what you really want to do, and to grow a thick skin. Also, to make time everyday to write, even if only for a short amount of time. And, don’t quit my day job hastily, wait to see what transpires. The worst piece of advice… I’m still waiting for the worst advice. To be honest, I hope it never comes.

How do you celebrate/deal with acceptance/rejection letters?
I’ve become quite the connoisseur with rejection letters. I can honestly say that at first, they devastated me. However, I started to get pissed after the 10th letter and decided that for every rejection I received I would send out 3 more query letters. Yeah…I’ve grown some thick skin and I keep moving forward. How did I celebrate when my first book, Dirty Deed was published by eXtasy? I jumped up and down in the privacy of my office, then had lunch with two of my favorite people. Seeing my words and name in print has been a dream come true. And I can honestly say…it keeps getting better. I love being optimistic, so I believe the best is yet to come! Every night before I go to bed, I hum the words to Don’t Stop Believing by Journey; it’s this writer’s lullaby. :)

The book you’re promoting, is it a stand-alone story or part of a series? If it’s part of a series, please list the order the books need to be read in for maximum reading enjoyment.
There are four stories planned for the Stiletto Sanction series so far. Cassadaga Moon is the first and already available. Vegas Moon is the second and is set for release in July 2012. The other two will follow the characters to New Orleans and back.
Cassadaga Moon ~ A Siren Erotic Romance ~ Blurb...
In the quaint town of Cassadaga, Florida, life isn’t quite what it seems. For the strictly raised Catholic Mia Christini, life is nothing like it seems. There are only three things Mia is sure of—her best friend Cindi might just be crazy, her boss is losing control, and morals are overrated.
Weary of existing by a moral compass, she is ready and waiting for a one-night stand. She’s twentysomething, and it’s about time. When Jordan De L’croix sets his sights on her, she finds out that her integrity isn’t the only thing she needs to worry about, especially from a man who gets, or takes, what he wants with ease.
And what he craves isn’t just her virginity. He craves her blood, redemption, and true love.

Contemporary Erotic Romance ~ Note: Hero and heroine involved in acts of vampirism.

~ A sneak peek into Vegas Moon ~
Under a Vegas Moon, two people realize that they can find forever in the arms of the other.
Psychic vampire, Cindi Vera Cruz, has no intention of falling in love with sanguine vampire, Tristan Dane. She makes that fact perfectly clear to Tristan every chance she gets. He’s nineteen years old, ten years her junior, and as she sees it, definitely not in her cards as a forever type of man, but he is a hell of a lover. But when Tristan decides he’s tired of her games, and demands she admit her feelings for him, all hell breaks loose. Cindi flat-out refuses.
Situations heat up more when Tristan walks into the yearly Stiletto Sanction coven party only to find Cindi feeding on his energy without his consent. His shock turns into anger. And then anger turns into a game of the battle of the wills. Tristan calls her bluff by raising the stakes in the blood play room. She has always been a willing participant in bleeding for him in the name of pleasure, but will she bleed to feed his need for pranic energy?
As Tristan and Cindi vie for control of their relationship, long-time friends, Mia and Jordan are plunged into another stalking scenario. Cindi’s protectiveness of Mia causes a reprieve in their battle and sends her and Tristan to New Orleans where they meet up with coven Elder Jamison Rierson and his girlfriend, Victoria. Mia’s stalking makes Cindi come to grips with the plain truth that she loves Tristan and wants to be with him regardless of her fears, her need to control and his age

*** Now for some fun info… ***
What’s your favorite color?
My favorite colors are red, black and grey. I like black the best even though it’s not considered a color.

What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
Say what? Forget the ice cream I’ll take the jar of cherries instead. And I’d like to place them all over… :)

Are you a morning person or night owl?
I am a morning person. And sometimes a night owl. I’m up by 5 am daily, and I can usually be found at my computer typing away at some story. I do my best writing in the early, early hours of the day. My muse, Styxx, loves to wake me at 2 AM.
