A Look At Karyn Gerrard & Gayl Taylor @KarynGerrard @gaylschat @LoveBitesSilk #1NS #Erotic #Menage

Title: Wild Pitch
Series: 1Night Stand
Genre: Contemporary/Cougar/Erotic/Menage
Can three lonely people keep pain, bitterness, and grief at bay or will emotional fireworks tear down the walls surrounding their hearts?

A look into the story

~ Blurb ~
* When recently divorced Connie arranges a wild 1Night Stand date for her widowed best friend, Nicole, she’s only got her friend’s happiness in mind. But one glance at the gorgeous younger man waiting at the Cougar Cave convinces Connie to seize the opportunity to act out her own secret fantasy—a three-way—if Nicole is up for the challenge. After all, she doesn’t even know about the original plan.
* Cut from his Double-A baseball team, all Barrett Michaels wants to do is drown his sorrows. But he’s already paid for a 1Night Stand, and with the arrangements made, he decides to go through with it in hopes it will give him one night of happiness before figuring out what to do with his future. Though he asked for an experienced older woman, he receives not one, but two beautiful women, who offer a night of mind-blowing, sensual pleasure.
* Can Madame Eve’s special brand of magic ease the pain and tear down the walls surrounding the hearts of three lonely people? Please note: No FF interaction

* Connie Hollingsway had just found the meat filling for her hero sandwich. As far as she was concerned, the man met all the requirements she’d requested from Madame Eve, and he sat in the exact location where she’d been informed he’d be. Connie cast a quick glance toward her best friend, Nicole Sullivan, and amended her thought to, our hero sandwich. After all, she’d planned the evening for Nikki, as she could use the diversion. Truth be told, so could Connie.
* Bass from inane techno music reverberated off the wood-paneled walls of the Cougar Cave. The club buzzed with excitement, pulsating with the promise of sex and the certain knowledge that one-night stands were the main item on the snack menu.
* Connie’s gaze slid back to the hottie sitting alone in a booth directly across from them. The guy, in a word, exuded perfection. Ascertaining his age proved difficult under the flashing strobe lights, since he sat underneath a neon sign for Budweiser that cast a reddish glow over his stunningly gorgeous face.
* She’d asked for a ruggedly handsome male under thirty, and the hunk seemed to fit the bill. His milk chocolate-colored, tousled hair had an I-just-rolled-out-of-bed appearance. Sexy. Like most young guys, he had scruffy whiskers, but her keen eye observed the delectable cleft in his well-shaped chin. Three empty beer bottles and a half-full glass sat in front of him, and he waved to the waiter for more.
* A sly smile curved her mouth. She’d been told, via e-mail from Madame Eve, that the “man under the Budweiser sign” would be game for a one-night stand with an older woman. Drunk enough, he might even be open and willing to consider Connie’s shocking, but sensual suggestion. Warming Nikki up to the idea might prove a challenge though.
* Connie had been about to speak, but the words died in her throat the moment he rose, shook off his leather jacket, and hung it on the coatrack on the back of the bench seat. Her mouth dropped in shock, but she quickly recovered. Taller than she’d first imagined, he stood at least a few inches over six feet. A skin-tight black T-shirt hugged his powerful physique. Tucked into a pair of incredibly tight blue jeans, it showcased his torso to sculpted excellence. Denim strained across rock-hard thighs, a muscular, ass and—her held breath whooshed out and ended in a moan—showed off an impressive package. Man-meat was sharpened into hardened precision, enough to rival the marble statues of Greek gods. Even better than she could’ve hoped for.
* She had to get a closer look.

What are you going to tell us about today?
~ Blurb ~
* He’s desperate for a break…
* After a difficult year in the classroom, elementary school teacher Kerri Coleson is close to the breaking point. All she wants is a quiet summer to regroup and refresh. Vacationing alone at the old family homestead, she never expected to meet a burnt out rock star or discover that he might be the man of her dreams…
* He’s desperate for her…
* Following the bust-up of his group and the dissolution of his marriage, rock star Wolfe Phalen’s world has been turned upside down. Though intrigued by Kerri’s lush curves, nurturing personality, and sensual response to his touch, the last thing he wants is a romantic entanglement…
* Kerri may rock Wolfe’s world, but will she rock his heart and soul?
* Heat level: 4; Word count – 17k
~ Excerpt ~
* So much for a walk today.
* A distant rumble of thunder boomed across the horizon. The rain fell in torrents from the gray, cloudy sky. Wolfe stood on Kerri’s veranda, the hood up on his sweatshirt. He could have called and canceled, but realized he didn’t have her cell number. Cold, stinging rain lashed his cheeks as he waited for her to answer.
* She opened the door and a gust of rain-laden wind caught her square in the face. She gasped and then began to laugh. The light, feminine sound cracked through the barrier around his heart. It was if the clouds had parted and the sun shone down on them both. Jesus, where had that romantic drivel come from? If it had happened to Janice, she would have screamed and railed on and on about getting wet. Kerri laughed. A sharp difference, and a welcome one.
* She stepped back, allowing him to enter. After closing the door, Wolfe bracketed her face with his hands and swiped the cold moisture away from her flushed cheeks. As he lay gentle kisses where the rain had been, he heard a soft moan escape her parted lips.
* The slight hold he had on his control slipped away. Capturing the moan with his mouth, he kissed her with hunger he had not known existed within him. The cold, clinging dampness of his clothes dissipated as the heat level grew between them. He backed her against the wall and let his hands explore her ample curves. Rotating his hips, he let her feel everything that pulsed and vibrated through his entire body.
* For the first time in months, he felt alive. Potent. Emotions he had not had in ages, and a few he could not identify, rocked him hard.
* The depth of her response ramped up his desire even more. Kerri rubbed against him, her breath hitching in short gasps in between the desperate kisses.
* Is it terrible I brought condoms?” he whispered.
* “Oh, God. No. Not terrible. I like a man who plans for every contingency.”
* Laughing, he leaned in and kissed her. “Where? Upstairs?”
* “I have a fire going in there.”
* She pointed to the living room. Sex in front of a fire. Perfect.

Welcome special guest: author Karyn Gerrard ( @KarynGerrard )

Today we have author Karyn Gerrard visiting. Her bio: Living in a small town in a corner of Ontario, Canada, I wile away my spare time writing, reviewing and reading romance. As long as I can avoid being hit by a runaway moose here in this wilderness paradise, I assume everything is golden. Originally from the east coast of Canada, I love to set my some of stories in the Maritime Provinces~Happily married for a long time to my own hero, a teacher that braves everything that is thrown at him. His encouragement keeps me moving forward.

* So, Karyn, what inspired you to become a writer?
I like to consider myself a storyteller first and foremost. I was the 12 year old at Girl Guide (Scout in the US) camp telling horror stories off the cuff around the campfire. In my teens, I started putting these stories to paper. Unfortunately, life got in the way and I didn't write for decades. A voracious reader, I only started reading romance about five years ago and started writing it at least three years ago. Imagine my shock at having a life-long dream come true. being published. Goes to show it's never too late to pursue your dreams.
* When did you attempt your first story? What length was it? What's become of it?
My first story was a historical at about 70,000 words. I sent it to a print publisher about 3.5 years ago. It was rejected, but they told me the story was good, just didn't fit their guidelines. It is in my editing queue. A large part of it needs to be reworked. That rejection letter gave me the fortitude to keep going. Someday, I will send it out again.
* How many stories did you complete before you sold your first?
I had three complete novel length manuscripts completed before I sold my first novella. Again, these three are in the queue, lol! I have a lot of serious editing to do, no mistake.
* What genre(s) do you write in? What drew you to write in it/them? What’s your favorite genre of all to write in?
So far I have a time travel, a paranormal and a contemporary published, I like to spread it around. I don't plan to write in any one genre. Historical fascinates me the most. I love the research when doing historical or historical characters. I also love the tortured heroes in paranormals. Ah hell, I love tortured heroes, period.
* What are the best and worst pieces of writing advice you ever received?
I don't know if I have ever received bad advice, if I did, I probably dismissed it. Besides the standard "write about what you know", the good advice was just get the story down, type 'the end', then goes back and edit. It is good advice. I follow it to the letter.
* How do you celebrate/deal with acceptance/rejection letters?
I haven't had that many of either yet, but I will say the second and third acceptances of contracts was just as exciting as the first! The rejection letter I did get, I handled it better than I thought I would. It was a nice letter; at least they didn't say I sucked. I usually open a bottle of wine (white) to celebrate a contract offer at least that is what I have been doing so far!
* In regard to the book you’re promoting, which actor and actress do you envision playing the roles of your hero and heroine? If there’s a villain or other characters who are pertinent to the story, who would play those parts?
Oh great question. I see Naomi Watts in a dark wig for my heroine, but she may be too attractive. My heroine borders on plain, but that doesn't matter in the movies!
For the hero, since Lucius Black is 6'5, I am going with Jared Padalecki from TV's Supernatural. Dye his hair black and he would be perfect.
My strong secondary character Wolfram, I see Henry Cavill in that role, though Henry is starting to get big movie roles, playing second fiddle may not appeal to him!

* The book you’re promoting, is it a stand-alone story or part of a series? If it’s part of a series, please list the order the books need to be read in for maximum reading enjoyment.
Well, I do have two sequels finished, if I ever get around to editing them and submitting, I hope they will see the light of day. The second story is about Lucius' half-vampire father and the third is about Lucius full-blood vampire grandfather. Editing and submitting these are on my to-do list in the new year.
*** Now for some fun info… ***
* What’s your favorite color?
Green! Must be the Irish in me.
* What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
Butterscotch Ripple
* Are you a morning person or night owl?
I am sooooo not a morning person, for at least two hours when I get up, I am the walking dead. Until I drink copious amounts of tea.

*** About the book … ***
BLACK LUST BLURB:   Lucius Black lives a debauched and wild nightlife. Being a ‘Quarter’ (1/4 vampire), blood and sex are what he is. However, his existence wears thin after a century of hedonistic pleasure.
Trevina Patterson lives a quiet, happy life running a hair salon in a village on the east coast of the United Kingdom. It was a perfect life and all she could ask for, until a chance encounter with Lucius Black.
What was it about him that was so unsettling and yet so attractive?
For Lucius, no woman had ever been enough, until Trevina. She awakened in him feelings he had not thought possible. Passions considered by him to be little more than vampiric mythology. She awakened his...black lust.

I had fun setting up my Shadow World, and I hope to continue with this series, lots of possibilities and directions I can go. One little tidbit, this was originally for a Halloween Anthology submission, Evernight said it would work better as a novella or novel. They were absolutely right. I expanded it from 9000 words to 28,000 and resubmitted and it was accepted!
