Six Sentences from Tracked
What gall it has coming out to brighten everything when my day’s so bleak no amount of sunshine would do any good. She stopped anyway and kept her face lifted up to the sky to feel the warmth of the rays for a few seconds.
In an instant, her head felt like it had exploded. The stolen moment was snatched away from her in a blast of pain. Horrified, her eyelids flew open, and she was no longer looking at the sky but at the ground.
The earth rushed up to meet her and greeted her with darkness.
