What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
* I'm sharing my most recent release A Wish Across Time. It's an erotic contemporary romance where a blast from the past comes back into Cassandra's lifew. It's the third book in my Raritan Manor Ranch series.

How'd you/your muse come up with this story/series?
* Many years ago I came up with ideas for a few stories that revolved around a particular family and a matchmaking cat. There was a house and piece of property up the road from my family’s place that I’d been enamored with and I used it as the house in the series, though please note, I’ve taken artistic liberties with its architectural plans. ;) Not sure how the idea for the series was sparked. I don't remember that detail. It has been betwee 10 & 20 years since I came up with it.

Describe the hero in five words.
* Ryan: Charming, sexy, handsome, romantic, persistent

Describe the heroine in five words.
* Cassandra: Wiccan, stubborn, smart, beautiful, cautious

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* The cat, Myrddin. He's modeled after my fur baby and has a sassy personality.

What's your favorite line in the story?
* She felt so alive, so connected to the earth and sky. It was as if she could touch the universe, feel the heat of the stars, burn hot and fast like the cosmic rays just by being with Ryan.

A look into the story

What's your favorite line in the story?
* It's a tie. Here's the first one. Trent is talking. “… Feel the vastness of the universe. Connect to Mother Earth. Sense her power. Become one with her, and you will become one with me.”
* Here's the second one that's in Julie's point of view: Darkness fell. A nighttime chill settled in the air. She shivered, but didn’t care. She’d stay on the ground until time stood still if that’s what it took to mend her soul, to bring him back.

A look into the story

~ Blurb ~ * There is magic on the ranch.
* A woman examining life. A man on a quest. Time restores his spirit and her love.
* Trent, a man in the past on a mission to discover where he belongs, embarks on a spiritual journey. His spirit guide, to his dismay, is a frisky feline named Myrddin. During a ritual, the cat brings the soul searcher forward into Julie VanAlder’s world.
* Julie is attracted to the newcomer on the ranch, but his strange mannerisms and speech dictate she use caution, especially when she learns where he’s from. A botched relationship, supposed time travel, spiritual mumbo jumbo…it’s almost too much for Julie to take.
* Can Trent make her believe in destiny and win her love before it’s too late? ~ Excerpt ~ * But now Trent doesn’t even look like he was ever affected by the car ride. Amazed at how much energy he had, she sat up and crossed her legs. Boy, what a sight he is.
* Trent, shirtless and showing off his built body, strolled from the water, moving with precision. The women around her tittered, whispering fast and lewd phrases about “the hunk.” Her gaze swung to one group of females whose attentions and words confirmed their obvious appraisals of the man. Beads of water trailed down his light brown skin, glistening on him like pixie dust. He bent over, then quickly straightened. His long black hair made an arc in the air, casting off the seawater. * Poseidon come to life. Beautiful Greek god incarnate. Julie sighed. No wonder he's making the women flap their lips. If one of her girlfriends were nearby, she’d be chatting up a storm with them about him too.

I may not be able to contain myself.” His gaze whipped back to Julie and he winked.
* Drawn to him by his charm, Julie rolled her eyes and smiled back. She couldn’t help it. Talk about arousing. His six-pack abs were right there, two feet from her face. All she’d have to do was lean forward, extend her hand, trail a finger along the dark divots of the muscles.

A Holiday Treat! #holidaybaking #mockthinmintcookies

......Happy holidays everyone!
......I wanted to let you know that for the next few days my blog will be quiet as my family and I celebrate the holiday. But I also didn't want to leave you hanging, so I'm sharing a treat with you all!
......Growing up I didn't like to cook all that much, but I was big on baking. As an adult, my baking time took a hit due to other responsibilities. Over the past year though, I've been getting into cooking, experimenting with new meals, and returning to creating delectable treats. Thing is I'm still a 'it has to be fast and easy' type of girl. So, how can one make cookies and not spend an inordinate amount of time in the kitchen? A bit of a quandary.
......Then I remembered...
......Back when I'd been in real estate, an agent I knew gave me the recipe for mock Thin Mints. Bingo! A quick and easy cookie. Three ingredients. A baking sheet and wax paper and voila! Only problem is they're so addicting and easy to eat you may need to make more than one batch. ;)

....First ingredient is Chocolate. I decided on this brand because one: I like it, two: it says no tempering is needed & three: the darker chocolate seemed closer to the real cookie's chocolate.






....Second ingredient is Peppermint Oil. There are lots of

recipes out there with varying ideas on this. Most use extracts. You could, too, if you can't find the oil, but oils do give a cleaner flavor and are stronger. Also, don't use extracts if you plan on tempering the chocolate. Extracts have water and alcohol which will cause the chocolate to seize. (Info on tempering chocolate and why can be found HERE.) If you're going to use the same chocolate I used, oil is a must since these chocolates shouldn't have any water mixed in. If you only can find an extract, feel free to use a bag of chocolate chips*.
....Third ingredient... Ritz Crackers. Yes. Ritz. Use the regular brand for the utmost in buttery, salty, chocolately, minty cookie goodness.

....Tools you'll need -- a bowl or double boiler to melt your chocolate; a silicone spatula to stir the melting chocolate; a fork; a baking sheet covered in wax paper

....Melt chocolate according to package directions.








....Once melted, add in 1/8 teaspoon to 1/4 teaspoon of the

peppermint oil. Do this to your taste but don't over do it right off the bat. If you put in too much, you won't be able to correct it, and you'll have mouthwash flavored chocolate.

..Dip a cracker into the minty chocolate mixture. Use the fork to remove it by lightly scooping it up from the underside. Allow excess chocolate to drain off through fork tines or gently shake the cracker so the excess comes off a little faster. Transfer the cookie to the baking sheet.
..Repeat until all the chocolate is used. A 12 oz bag of chocolate yeilded about 36 cookies.

* Why can’t I open both eyes? Why is my cheek killing me? Desperate for answers, Seana attempted to speak and couldn’t. Her heartbeat raced. She swallowed hard. “What’s wrong with me?” Her voice—more like a soft frog’s croak than her normal lilt—cracked on the question. Her vision blurred for a moment.
* She turned her head at some rustling to her left. A harsh pounding at the base of her skull and knife-like slashes in her temple rewarded her for the movement. The bit of sight she had wavered again. She squeezed her eye shut. Beeps and whirs grew louder. The pinch of something on her finger registered along with the discomfort of objects stuck in the back of her hand. She shifted on the uncomfortable padding. Adhesive stickers with attached wires pulled and nipped the skin along her chest. Anxiety welled within her. Seana’s breathing hitched. To calm down, she breathed in through her nose only to discover cool plastic tubing at her nostrils and stretching down the sides of her face.
* Can’t move. Intense light. Tubes and wires. Oh my God, I’ve been abducted by aliens!

Well, it’s almost the "official" end of summer. Why do I have the word official in quotes? Cause where I live I’ll still be able to enjoy summer like weather and wear shorts until the end of October and into November if the temps hold out. That’s the one nice thing about living in the southwest, being able to experience nice weather almost year round. Granted, June, July and August can be unbearable at times when it comes to 110+ degrees of heat, but the rest of the year makes up for it. Plus, I’d rather be in the heat than the cold.
