Help ghosts, stop a thief, and try not to die...
* Necromancer Selene Vanream helps ghosts settle their affairs so they can move on. But when breaking the rules gets her in trouble, she's bumped down to tracking ghosts trying to avoid the afterlife. Ghosts like Ethan Lance, who claims he was kicked out of his body when someone else jumped in. Which might be plausible—if such a thing were possible. And if Micah, Selene's partner, didn't pull her into an investigation of brutal murders that lead directly back to Ethan.
* But when the whole mess puts Selene's life in danger, she suddenly has very personal reasons to get Ethan's body back. Between her uncomfortable relationship with Micah, and problems with her boss, Selene learns just how much trouble it can be when you don't follow the rules...

~ Book 2 Requiem for the Living Blurb ~
Selene is slowly dying...too bad that's the least of her problems.
* You could say that Selene Vanream has a lot of problems. First there's the Rot that's slowly killing her, despite everything Ilyse and Micah are doing to find a way to save her.
* Then there's Andrew, the ghost of her boss who is anchored to the living world. Selene would like to ignore him, but anchored ghosts with unsettled business turn into anchored beasties, so she can't write him off. The government has sent a team to post up at Affairs of the Dead and keep an eye on her, which includes making sure she plays up to Andrew to keep him from turning.
* On top of that, someone is using Selene's new power to create anchored ghosts for their loved ones to keep around. Not good since the culprit doesn't have a clue about that whole anchored beastie angle. Now Selene has a criminal to catch while trying to stay out of the hands of government goons who have stripping her reanimation power on their agenda.
* When Micah and Ilyse finally find a way to save her, Selene thinks she can cross one bad thing off her list--until she learns the terrible price that must be paid to keep her alive. Full plate doesn't cover it. Overflowing plate doesn't cover it. Selene's plate has damn near exploded.

~ Book 3 The Ravaging In Between Blurb ~
Sometimes death is only the beginning...
* Selene Vanream died—for two minutes. After being revived, she spends over a month in a coma before she awakes, free from the Rot and the reanimation power that caused her so much trouble. No one can explain how Selene survived killing Renton while he possessed her reanimation power, and her reunion with Micah is marred by the choices they each made to save her and stop Renton.
* But even though she's Rot free, she isn't problem free. First, she no longer has a job at Affairs of the Dead. And Ethan is missing and she can't track him down. Not only that, ghosts that were sent to the Afterlife with unfinished business have somehow crossed back and are trying to settle the score in violent ways. If that wasn't enough, Selene discovers that dying briefly has more consequences than she realized, because when she was revived, not all of her came back. Now she's straddling both the living world and the dead, and she will find out what it means to come back to life but leave part of her soul behind.

Deborah Camp & 'Through His Heart' @authordebcamp @GoddessFish #RomanticSuspense

Today we have author Deborah Camp visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Author of more than 40 novels, Deborah lives in Oklahoma. She has been a full-time writer since she graduated from the University of Tulsa. She worked for a few years as a reporter for newspapers before becoming a freelance writer. Deborah’s first novel was published in the late 1970s and her books have been published by Jove, New American Library, Harlequin, Silhouette, and Avon. She has been inducted into the Oklahoma Authors Hall of Fame and she is a charter member of the Romance Writers of America. She is widely published in non-fiction and writes and edits for a magazine focused on small businesses. Deborah taught fiction writing for more than 10 years at a community college. She is currently working on a series of novels featuring two psychics who work with police nationwide to identify and track serial murderers.

Today Deborah Camp will be talking about: Seven Sensuous Kisses of Levi Wolfe
* Aren’t kisses wonderful? They can be a quick “thanks” to a slow, simmering build-up, to an all-out assault on the senses. Levi Wolfe, one of the main characters in the Mind’s Eye series is an expert at seduction, so kisses are part of his repertoire. He knows how to woo women with just the right lip action.
* Trudy Tucker, his lady love, thinks he kisses like he invented it, so here are the top seven kisses performed by Levi Wolfe!
1. The Stamp of Approval. A quick, hard kiss against the lips with sound effects – mwaaa! Used as a “thanks,” “you’re cute,” and “I can’t resist you.”
2. The Brand. Another quick, hard kiss, but this is accompanied by a sweep of the tongue across her lips. It’s a “you’re mine,” possessive kiss. Just a little reminder.
3. Three’s a Charm. Three, slow, sweet, simmering kisses with the press of his tongue against hers. Used as a “warm up” for things to come!
4. Love that Lip. Sandwiching her upper lip between his and sucking gently.
5. The Whole Enchilada. Kisses each corner of her mouth and then the middle. Small, savoring kisses.
6. The Swirl. Open-mouthed, swirling his tongue around hers. Usually happens when he’s in the throes of passion.
7. Nip and Lick. Alternating between licking into her mouth and biting her lower lip. Hot, hot, hot!
* There are others, of course, but these show his love of variety! They might not be original, but they are very effective!
A look into...
~ Blurb ~
* “Sending you an SOS.”
* When psychic Trudy Tucker hears this plaintive cry in her mind and then connects psychically with a little girl’s kidnapper, she is drawn to a small town in Missouri where everyone is suspect – including herself and her lover, celebrated psychic detective Levi Wolfe. As she and Levi work together to sort through whom and what to trust, an innocent life hangs in the balance.
~ Excerpt ~
* Levi shifted his shoulders as if a weight had settled on them and his black brows knitted. His thick, sooty lashes tapped his cheeks as he squirmed a little. After taking a lung-filling breath, he let it escape in a long hiss. Trudy wondered what he was experiencing, what was going on in that brilliant mind of his. What did he see? Shadows moving in the distance? Souls stepping forward? A young girl emerging and answering his call? From the movement of his eyes behind his closed lids, she knew he was there . . . there among the spirits.
* “Gregory,” he whispered.
* His spirit guide! She sat forward, watching, waiting. He hadn’t connected with Gregory very much during the past few months. He’d told her that it bothered him, but that Gregory had reminded him that he only appeared when Levi needed guidance or centering. So, why had he appeared now? Was Levi having trouble? Had she been wrong to prod him into looking for Rachel over there?
* “What’s going on?” Levi asked, his raspy voice carrying a sliver of doubt. “Who’s that? Is it . . . that’s not . . . no. No!” His eyes opened, wide and wild. He gasped for breath and emitted little grunts of panic with each exhale.
* Trudy’s heart and spirits plummeted. “You saw her there? Rachel’s there?” A sob tore at her throat. How could she tell AmyLynn? Did the FBI know already?
* “No . . . I . . .” Levi shot to his feet and scrubbed his face with his hands. “Fuck, fuck, fuck!”
* “She’s there? Oh, my God, she’s dead. He killed her.” Trudy wrapped her arms around herself as she began to shake with the horrible knowledge. She’d failed. She’d been useless. Ineffective. A bad joke. The little girl . . . gone. Gone!
* “I didn’t see Rachel.”

A Look At Terri Herman-Ponce & 'In This Life' ~ @TerriPonce @GoddessFish #suspense

Today we have author Terri Herman-Ponce visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I look for any opportunity to make stuff up and think anything that can’t so easily be explained is worth an extra look and often makes a great story. I lovelovelove red wine, scotch (yep, I do!), sunrises, Ancient Egypt, the beach—and a host of other stuff that would take too much real estate to talk about. I’m the last of five children and live with my husband and son on Long Island. And, in my next life, if I haven’t moved on to somewhere else, I want to be an astronomer. I’m fascinated with the night skies almost as much as I’m fascinated with ancient Egypt.
* I’m a member of member of Sisters in Crime and Mystery Writers of America, and you can read about me at http://terriponce.com/. If you love social media, you can also find me on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Terri.Ponce.Author and on Twitter at https://twitter.com/TerriPonce. Come visit. I’d love to hear from you!

What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
* I’ve just re-released In This Life, Book 1 of the Past Life Series. And I’m so very, very excited about it! It’s the story of second chances…the whole concept of, if you could do it all over again, would you? The book is written from a paranormal premise of past lives, where the characters have a chance to fix past mistakes and right previous wrongs, but who soon discover that doing so doesn’t always mean better. It can also mean deadly. In This Life opens with Dr. Lottie Morgan recovering from the flu and experiencing dreams of a lover she’s never had before. As a psychologist, she’s thinking the dreams will go away when the fever breaks, until she gets a call from a mysterious man claiming he’s the one she’s dreaming about…

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
* Every time I tell this story, I get an eye roll. Or a laugh. A long time ago (sheesh, it must be 18 years now) I fell totally in love with Star Trek: The Next Generation. I mean, I couldn’t get enough of the series or the characters. But watching the show, even as reruns, wasn’t enough and so I started writing fanfiction. I’d written one, in particular, about my being sick with the flu and going to bed in real life and then waking up the next day on the Enterprise. I know, cute. Or weird. Or something, right? Anyway, during that time I met my now best friend who also became my beta reader, and one day she told me that I should do more with my writing. That maybe I should branch out on my own and write something mainstream. I hadn’t thought about it before, and didn’t know where to start, so she suggested I use that ST:TNG story, focusing on the concept of “what if reality wasn’t what you thought it was?” Then I started thinking about second chances, and what if second chances weren’t as promising as you thought they were? What if you made a mistake in the past, maybe a distant past, and had the chance to fix it? And what if things didn’t turn out as you expected? Well, all those what-ifs charged up my creative brain and In This Life was born. It’s a story about dangerous secrets, resurrected revenge, second chances, and the hope of true love.

Describe the hero in five words.
* Yikes. This will be hard. Ummm… Loyal. Intense. Deep. Passionate. Strong-willed.

Describe the heroine in five words.
* More yikes. This is equally hard! Thinking… Empathetic. Curious. Devoted. Quiet Strength.

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* Oh, my favorite is also my passion. I have a lust-fest going with my sexy male lead David Bellotti. He’s perfect in his imperfection. His looks can stun a room into silence. His body can kill in more ways than one. He hates lies and hates being lied to. And his single-minded way of looking at life is his Achilles heel, as is his love for Lottie Morgan. He’s perfect in his imperfection.

What's your favorite line in the story?
* “We do not remember days, Shemei, we remember moments, and the richness of life lies in memories we have forgotten.”

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* Hidden memories. Buried secrets. Resurrected revenge.
* Psychologist Lottie Morgan knows something is wrong when she relives memories of a lover she's never had. At first she attributes them to fever-induced dreams. But when the fever disappears and the visions don’t, Lottie realizes something else is going on.
* Then she meets Galen. Their first encounter is as intense as it is eye-opening, and his revelation that they shared a passionate relationship thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt entices Lottie into wanting to learn more about her past. Her decision, however, comes at a price. Galen may hold the answers but he could destroy the devoted, lifelong relationship Lottie has with her current lover, David.
* It also could mean her death—again.
* Someone is protecting millennia-old secrets, determined to keep them buried while exacting a revenge on Lottie for a mistake made a very long time ago. A mistake she could be destined to repeat.
* Take a trip to mysterious ancient Egypt, where Lottie becomes caught between two lifetimes, two men, and long-buried deceptions. Hank Phillippi Ryan, Agatha, Anthony and Macavity-winning author, calls this paranormal suspense "Inventive, original and thought-provoking; this mystically romantic mystery will instantly intrigue."
~ Excerpt ~
* “Doctor Morgan?”
* Galen’s voice soothed me into a strange calmness that intrigued and scared me. I nodded because I couldn’t find my voice.
* “I am Galen Briscoe,” he said.
* He held out his hand and I took it, unprepared for the heat that surged between us, and the images came hard and fast—sweaty, intertwined bodies, his hungry mouth on mine, and a desire so desperate, so insatiable, it devoured everything we were.
* I tugged out of Galen’s grip, breathless and overheated and unhinged. I stared back at him and swore I could see the two of us in the depths of his sand–colored eyes. With a pounding heart, I headed for the window. I needed space and time to think, not to mention a good dose of cool, calming air.
* “Take a seat,” I said, unable to restrain the huskiness in my voice. Whether he took the seat or not didn’t matter. In fact, I didn’t even care that he may have considered my immediate disregard of him as rude, and when I opened the window and felt the fresh summer breeze rush in, it did little to temper my overheated body and the fine sheen of sweat that covered it.
* “Doctor Taletta Morgan,” he said, reading my diplomas from the other side of the room. “Unusual name.”
* Once again his voice blanketed me in a calm that eased my alarm as quickly as his touch ignited it. It was deep and refined with a hint of an accent thrown in, and I would have asked him to continue talking just so I could keep taking pleasure in it. I closed my eyes, determined to fight the startling and primal effect he had on me, and didn’t face him until the restlessness in my body subsided.
* “Taletta is a derivative of Taletha,” he said, peering over at me. “Did you know that?”
* I shook my head, still unable to find my voice while some baser part of me took pleasure in his, wanting more. “No,” I said after clearing my throat. “I didn’t.”
* He shoved his hands in his pockets and continued browsing around my office as if it were his own. I tracked his lean body and long legs, and the form–fitting silk T–shirt and black slacks that accentuated it. Understatedly wealthy. Supremely self–confident. And an unexpected enigma to me.
* “It’s a biblical name,” he went on. “Taletha is Aramaic for little girl and is taken from the phrase taletha cumi, meaning little girl arise. Jesus spoke the phrase to bring a little girl back to life.”
