What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Kiru Taye is the award-winning and best-selling author of His Treasure.
* As a young adult, she read a lot of books. Mostly, she loved the romantic stories for the fantasy of being swept away by dashing heroes to exotic locations. Though her reading tastes have matured since then, she still loves reading romance novels.
* Having always dreamt of writing novels, she finally 'bit the bullet' in 2010 and wrote her first contemporary romance novel which she submitted the first chapter as an entry to New Voices writing contest in September 2010. It was shortlisted for ‘call-back’.
* She writes historical, contemporary and paranormal romance. Her stories are sensual and steamy, her characters passionate and sassy and her settings, atmospheric and exotic.

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?

* K. L. Brady is a D.C. native but spent a number of her formative years in the Ohio Valley. Her writing career started in the pages of diaries when she was 7 or 8 years old. But it wasn’t until her 40th birthday and an Oprah “Live Your Best Life” moment that she finally answered her calling and wrote her first novel–The Bum Magnet. The originally self-published novel was picked up by Simon & Schuster in a two-book deal, and K.L. hasn’t looked back since, penning the follow-up, Got a Right to Be Wrong and self-publishing the first books in two young adult series and a spy thriller series based on her 20+-year career in the U.S. Intelligence Community.
* She has a B.A. in Economics, an MBA, and is a member of the Maryland Writer’s Association, Romance Writers of America, Sisters In Crime, and International Thriller Writers. She’s addicted to writing and chocolate—not necessarily in that order—and currently lives in the Washington D.C. area with her son. She is hard at work on several projects, including the next installment of the series.

Today K.L. Brady will be talking about how she became a writer and what inspired her in regard to the story she's promoting.
* I’ve been writing since I was 7 or 8. My mother told me I was an early reader and she bought me diaries with locks on them to encourage my writing. My personal journey into publishing came on the heels of a major break up and right before turning the big 4-0. After a "What am I going to do with the rest of my life?" moment, I dug deep down and finally decided to explore this gift.
* I never thought I could be a published author.
* To me, authors were like gods on Mt. Olympus that worked a special brand of magic unavailable to mere mortals to write my favorite books. They didn't sit down and grind every day and type. Oh, what a rude, but happy, awakening it was when I realized how wrong I'd been. This is definitely something that everyone can do, but you have to work really hard to do it well, and consistently well, through every book. I wrote my first book in four months, published it a year later—and it was eventually picked up by Simon & Schuster. The rest, as they say, is history. That was six years ago, this year (2015), and I'm eight books in now. Pretty incredible journey.
* 12 Honeymoons: A Novel came from a thought I had about finding one’s true purpose.
* Some people are born knowing exactly who they want to be. From young ages the show some talent or predilection for something and they spend their lives fostering and honing their gifts to fulfill that purpose, which may involve making a boat load of money.
* Some people don't have a clue about who they want to be. Zero. They drift from the thing of the moment to the next thing of the moment and find their purpose from a process of elimination.
* The people in my group, the third group, are born knowing is exactly what their callings are from a very young age, but they don't trust it. They doubt their calling, they doubt their ability to achieve it. So they wander through life, from the thing of the moment to the next thing of the moment, trying to figure out what they've known all along.
* That's the story at the heart of 12 Honeymoons--the search for the true calling, wrapped in a story about finding true love. Who are we kidding? Both have very similar processes--just change "thing of the moment" to "boyfriend of the moment." Sometimes we know "the one" at first sight. Other times, it's a process of elimination. And yet other times, we know but we have to go through a process of elimination to figure out what we've known all long.
* Miki, the main character, is so enamored with the beginnings of things (the honeymoon phase) that she never lets life go beyond the honeymoon period. So she can't get past herself to find what it is (or who it is) that really makes her tick.
* 12 Honeymoons is mostly about Miki's journey to figure it all out. But there's other good stuff in there too.
* Pam, her best friend, lies in the opposite end of the spectrum. She's known from a very young age that her calling is to paint. But under the weight of adult responsibilities and a shaky marriage, her dreams of being an artist got buried--that is until she meets a man who helps release the inner artist bottled up within. The problem is he's not her husband--and she's going to have a lot of choices to make about how to keep her dream alive...and whether or not to save her marriage.

Please tell us a bit about your book, Goddess by Chance.
INSPIRATION FOR THE NOVEL: Anyone who knows me is aware that I love all things Greek mythology. After I completed my first novel, Goddess of Legend, I started to wonder could there be more Demi-god Daughters out there that needed their stories told. To start with I had to decide what Greek goddess would be a good candidate to have a half mortal daughter. I’m sure who I chose will surprise many.
* After that I thought about what kind of heroine I would have this time around. Since I’d created such a take charge, kick your butt heroine in the first novel in the series, I wanted to go for a much softer and more vulnerable heroine and thus Arienne was created. As for the god in this story, I wanted somebody a little rougher around the edges with more of a dark side. I’d say he’s more of an anti-hero than a hero and as a result he was a lot more interesting to write. _book cover pic

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?

* LaKisha Johnson is a girl after God’s own heart; doing what she believes to be her purpose…writing. In addition to being a self-published author, she’s also a wife of 15 years, mother of 2 and native of Memphis, TN. She comes from a huge family and has always been the go to girl whenever someone needed a poem written or read, an acknowledgement that would convey just what they were thinking or even an occasion written for that special day. She’s an all-around talented lady that makes everything she touches turn to gold. She has 2 degrees from Southwest TN Community College both in Information Technology and has worked in the corporate field for over 15 years. She is also a dedicated blogger, delivering a devotional blog 5 days per week entitled “Kisha’s Daily Devotionals.”
* LaKisha wants readers of her books to step outside the box and read with imagination. She wants them reeled in from the front cover to the last word, enjoying every second in between, asking for more. She doesn’t proclaim to be the best writer or even author in the world…she just proclaims to be blessed because her motto is “God’s purpose is bigger than any problem!”

They are all career women with different businesses, husbands and even children but something is missing and they can’t seem to find it at home, in a store or even in a book. They enjoy the thrill of sneaking, creeping and even vacationing on someone else’s dime but they soon find out that all good things come to an end. What happens when it becomes too much? From secretly wanting someone who doesn’t want you, loving only to not be loved back and being caught up in a dream that you’re about to be awaken from; will it be worth it in the end? Will they regret their actions or stand by them? Will they finally question whether this secret is really worth keeping? ~ Excerpt ~ * Girls, this has been an amazing trip. I’m kind of sad that it’s ending but I am ready to get home to see my babies.
* “Well, good for you; I can’t say the same,” said Kerri.
* “Listen ladies, I know that these trips are supposed to be a release to renew our minds but they do no good if you go back to home and accept the same mess you left. If you all are not happy then make some changes. Life is too short to keep living in hell. You all are beautiful, educated and capable of taking care of yourselves so why continue to take less from your husband than what your husband is supposed to do? Please don’t get me wrong, I am in no way saying that you all should head to divorce court, however, I am saying stop lying down and accepting everything. Stop accepting less than what your husband should be giving. Why should you have to find part time love in the hands of someone else? Why should you find pleasure in the bed of someone else when your husband should be fulfilling your every fantasy and you should be filling his?”
* “Shelby, I hear you but you have all that at home, we don’t” Chloe said with tears streaming down her face.
* “Yea, you have a husband whose eyes light up when you enter the room, one who notices your new hairdo, one who doesn’t mind shopping with you, one who holds you when you cry, sit with you when you’re sick, stay up with you when the baby is sick; you have all that,” Kerri added.
* “Yes, I do but this is because I wouldn’t accept anything less. Understand, we have our ups and downs but we work through them. We are not perfect and I’d be lying if I said anything differently but he knows my faults and accepts them and I know his and accept them.” I said.
