a look at Constance Phillips & 'Chasing Power' #FantasyRomance @CPhillips #NKBlogTours

Chasing Power ~ The Realm's Salvation
by Constance Phillips
Genre: Magical Realism/Fantasy Romance

This is the third book of a series, but it is a stand alone. It is not necessary to read the other books to enjoy this story.
For Keiran Saysin, protecting the fairy population from humans is more than a job. It is passion and his duty to the realm. Since Eero’s revolution failed—and the discovery of fairy power lying dormant in some of the human population, that job hasn’t been easy. Now that his sister and her husband are welcoming a set of twins, old enemies have come out of hiding, hoping the children will a serve as a key to reclaiming what has been stripped from them.

Enter Annie Valentine, the genetic researcher Daniel’s mother has employed. Keiran knows the smart thing to do is cast a spell and push the human away, but something about the way she stands toe to toe and eye to eye has him forgetting that getting involved with a human could cost him everything he values, including his power.

Monique can control any human with a flirtatious smile and an attraction spell. Until she meets Daniel Elliot, the only human who's immune to both.

After her parents' death and an unwanted proposal, fairy Monique seeks refuge in the human world. Her brother has warned her of the dangers, but she believes hiding will be a breeze. She can control any human with a flirtatious smile and an attraction spell. Until she meets Daniel Elliot, the only human who's immune to both.

Can Monique's brother find her and bring her home before she falls victim to whoever is killing fairies on the human world?

Will the reason Daniel's fairyproof be too much for them to overcome?

When Tristan Ipsly becomes eligible to fill a vacated Council seat, he thinks his chances are non-existent. Especially since he is the sole member to a house the fell to the revolution and his contender Edwin Vettore is an elder from a house that adheres to Canon teachings.

If fairykind has a chance at survival, it will come on Tristan’s wings of change. Or so Quinn Vettore believes. But voicing her support for Tristan will anger her grandfather, and he’s the one man who can stand in the way of a courtship between Quinn and Tristan.

Will Edwin successfully keep both Quinn and the position out Tristan’s grasp, or will the Council yield to change?

Please Note this is a Novella

Kristy Denice Bock & 'Divine Touch' @kdbock @GoddessFish #FantasyRomance #ParanormalRomance

Today we have author Kristy Denice Bock visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Kristy Denice Bock is an avid reader who fell in love with creating characters at a young age. She lives in Coastal Carolina and is quite the fan of the Crystal Coast. She is the mother of four unique humans who constantly keep her on her toes. She’s the proud grandmother of two, and the world’s greatest Aunt to ten pretty spectacular humans. Her parents bought her a typewriter at 14, and she hasn’t stopped writing since. Read Kristy Denice Bock’s Smashwords Interview

Today Kristy Denice Bock will be talking about how she became a writer and what inspired her in regard to the story she's promoting.
* When I was fourteen years old, my parents bought me an electronic type writer. I think I’ve been writing stories as long as I’ve been able to read them. There is simply something so magical about creating a world that only you know about, and then sharing that world with others.
* I remember when I was a child, I would write stories about princesses who could defeat insurmountable odds because I believed that the female characters I read about were undervalued. They were always waiting on someone to save them. Why couldn’t they just save themselves?
* Even in the books I read, I hate when the damsel in distress waits to be rescued. Girl please. Pick up a sword, swing it at the dragon and pick the lock with your hair pin. Then go find yourself a prince worthy of your time, and ride off into the sunset, at his side.
* What inspired me to write Divine Touch was a video game I used to play. I write a storyline as a volunteer for this game, and it centered around six gods and goddesses. They wreaked havoc on unsuspecting players. It was fun to play both the omnipotent characters, as well as the average person who had limits to what they could accomplish.
* When it came time to actually write the story, I decided that I wanted all my gods to be women. I wanted to create a world where women ruled. They rule with their hearts, as well as their common sense and the intelligence they were born with. It’s not always pretty, but it is always an entertaining ride.
* There are six Goddesses in Divine Touch. The premise is that these Goddesses came from another place, they left to avoid war and settled on Earth not long after the dawn of man. When man was created, guidelines were put in place to ensure that the Goddesses would never harm Earth’s natural inhabitants. A council was created to balance the omnipotent power of the Goddesses with the feeble nature of mankind.
* In Divine Touch, the lead Goddess, Noxia, has a daughter. In order to keep with the balance, her daughter has to complete three trials of Humanity. She has to prove she’s worthy to live among the humans with the power she was born with. If she fails, she will be put to death.
* This story is about learning to be who you were meant to be, while accepting accountability for your actions. Kate was born the daughter of a Goddess, but she’s still a sassy, strong independent female.
* I hope you enjoy reading Divine Touch as much as I have enjoyed writing it. I love to hear from anyone who has read my stories, please feel free to reach out!

~ Blurb ~
* Finding a naked man where Werewolf bones once were should have let Kate know she was in for an unusual day! Nothing could have prepared her for the discovery that her mother is a Goddess, and that nothing in her life would ever be the same. Zane DeSeville spent five centuries trapped in a prison of his own body only to be awakened by the image of the woman who caused his entrapment. After Kate discovers that she’s the daughter of a Goddess, another bombshell is dropped in her lap. She has to pass three Trials of Humanity, or she’ll be imprisoned as Zane had been, and Zane would be her judge and jury!
~ Excerpt ~
* Zane found himself liking the strange young man. His appearance was something Zane had never come across before, but that didn't seem to detract from his character, rather it enhanced it.
* “Okay look, I'm just going to get this over with,” Cole said. Without a further word on the subject, Cole's head leaned back as his body changed to a form Zane was all too familiar with.
* Zane tried to maintain rigid control on the beast within him. The desire to prove alpha status could not be contained. His fingers shook, the need to dominate drove him. The idea of harming the young wolf made him fight hard to control himself.
* It was a heedless battle, but the beast would not be contained. The harder he fought, the more the beast raged. He felt the change come upon him before he could control it. His senses heightened, he could smell the other wolf’s presence. With his last coherent ability, he projected his thoughts out, telling the young wolf to run. The beast was free.
* The young wolf cocked its head to the side, looking at the larger version. It dropped down on its hindquarters, extending its front paws forward with its head lowered. The beast recognized a sign of submission. The beast stood over the young wolf and growled. It remained unsatisfied with an unearned submission. Its jaws snapped at the young wolf’s ear, causing the smaller creature to jump back in surprise.
* The beast goaded the wolf until it openly attacked. Their sounds of aggression filled the room as they wrestled each other to the ground. Though the younger wolf was smaller, it made up for its lack of size by speed and agility. When its teeth sank into the foreleg of the older wolf the battle turned. It went from a token fight to a fierce battle of wills. The younger wolf continued to use its smaller statute to its advantage.
* Each time the beast would force the wolf down, it would find a way to escape the hold. With each passing moment a respect was gained. Respect, however, was not something that was worth losing over. The beast howled in delight as his teeth bit into the neck of the wolf, pinning it to the ground.
* “When your pissing contest is over, I was promised ice cream, a movie, and Holland.” The beast recognized the scent of its mate. It let go of the wolf and backed away.
* A scream caused all heads to turn in the direction of the door Kate had just entered. The beast watched in disgust as the pale creature crumpled to the ground.

Right now, with her crazy, busy schedule, the weeds are winning the war!
* Camping, fishing, biking and hiking (when not hot) are other outdoor pursuits she and her husband enjoy. She is of course, an avid reader and hates cooking and housework. Her current favorites are Blackmore’s Night and David Lanz.

* The most powerful woman in her tribe, Blaze can heal with a touch, control the elements, merge her mind with any living creature and more. Yet, she is an outcast. Her people fear her and she herself is afraid of the things she can do. There is darkness in her visions, along with a tall, buckskin-clad stranger with golden-brown hair and eyes as green as the leaves on trees. Somehow, he is her destiny.
* Luc Cordell is done with trapping. He yearns for civilization and a normal life. His only regret is leaving behind his family. But his father’s second wife is a SpiritWalker, and now, so is his father. How can Luc live with people who run with the wolves or soar across the heavens with the owls? Yet when a haunted healer with stars in her colorful eyes enters his life, he is drawn into the mystical world whether he likes it or not.
* The winds of change are sweeping across the land, taking Luc and Blaze into a world of lies, deceit, and murder. Together, they search for truth and must turn to the eagles for answers.

* The sound of a whine drew her attention. The injured wolf limped into the tall, dried grass. He turned and gave a low keening howl. It took a moment for her overwhelmed mind to spot the booted foot poking out of the brush. When she did, she hurried over. Parting the grass, she stilled and the air left her lungs.
* “Oh, no.” She stared into open, sightless green eyes. These same eyes she’d seen in her crystals, those of the handsome trapper. Blaze rushed to his side, tears sliding down her face. “I’m too late!” Staring down at strong, rugged features, she pulled out her clear crystal and held it in one hand. It was completely blank. No green eyes, no red blood. Just the stars that seemed to pulse with life. Braced for the horror of death, she cupped her palm to one side of the young trapper’s face, feeling as though she’d lost part of her soul.
* Setting the crystal on his chest, she was startled when a tiny spark of green flickered in the heart of the stone. She kept her palm on his face and leaned close, her breath fanning his face as she stretched out her other hand, holding it over him. She lowered her palm to his bloody chest. There was no heartbeat, no sign of air going in and out of his lungs, yet she felt something, not physical but deeper. His body might have given up, but the spirit of the man remained.
* “No.” She pressed her hand hard onto his chest and gripped the side of his face. Tears slipped from her eyes. One dripped onto his cheek. “You cannot go.” Beneath her hand, she felt a sudden jolt, and hope flared in her soul. “I’m not too late.”
* Without thought to the danger of retrieving a soul that had already departed the body, she merged with the stranger. He didn’t feel like such a stranger to her heart.

Journal entry #38
Some call me weird. I’ve heard the whispers that I’m crazy.
   I’m not.
I want him near me like I have never wanted anything in my life. Dreams of having his arms around me plague my every thought. I can’t control my driving urge to be with him. Emotion takes over and I see nothing, know nothing but my compulsion to get back to him. I would do anything to be with him. Be the center of his world. I would do anything to…Get. Him. Back.
That is my wish, my want, my absolute need. With thoughts focusing on when we’ll be together, all else fades from my mind. My fantasies run rampant. I imagine him stepping forward and claiming me. Telling me everything I want to hear. Oh, my imagination is fantastic, but I can’t wait until it’s for real.
To see him but not be able to be near him, touch him, is the madness. Oh, I’ve tried to get to him, but haven’t had any luck. God, I hurt inside when I can’t see him, and it seems like forever between the times I do. Doesn’t he understand what’s going on with me? I pray one day he’ll wake up and see the truth. And when he does, we will become inseparable. I will please him. With him I will love and be loved. Finally.

~ Fateful Decision ~
At the mercy of Lady Tyche and Herr Sehend, Jill, a woman betrayed, is set on a very personal, erotic, paranormal journey. The choices she makes during her travels will determine if the end result of her adventure is good or bad. Either way, Jill is in for the time of her life.
Stories contain Adult Situations and Language and are not suitable for those under 18 or who dislike mature subject matter.
~ Excerpt ~
Unconcerned about the others, Tresa focused on the blonde-haired man and positioned the scythe in preparation to swing. Her intent was to decapitate Ned, the bastard she once knew as Jurgen, but she didn’t expect it to happen. The blade couldn’t hurt a body on the physical plane since it existed on a spiritual one. Still, her hope was her assault would do some kind of damage. She shifted her hands and caught the man’s attention.
His blue-eyed gaze widened in surprise. His skin paled to match the church several yards away. Tresa?
Her name whispered in her mind, a soft caress she hadn’t experienced since she had been transformed into the Grim Reaper. For a brief moment she considered dropping her weapon but didn’t. She had waited lifetimes to inflict her revenge, to repay him for the hurt he had caused her. She smirked. Hello, Jurgen. The blade swung down and sliced through his neck.
