Phil Fragasso & 'Still Counting' @PhilFragasso @GoddessFish #ChickLit

Today we have author Phil Fragasso visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Phil Fragasso sold his first article at the age of 16. Since then he has written and published a wide variety of books, articles and essays. After many years as a corporate marketer, he left to pursue endeavors that were more fulfilling personally and more contributory on a societal level. Today he focuses his time on writing and teaching.

A look into...

* Adam Donatello and Nina Morales share an immediate and powerful attraction, and their future together seems assured. But love is difficult enough without adding complications – real or imagined – to the mix. Nina sees life as a thousand shades of gray, while Adam tends towards black-and-white. He wants to move fast; she needs time. Nina sees her past liaisons with women as immaterial to their relationship, while her disclosure drives Adam to a state of irrational jealousy. He doesn't know how he could compete with a woman; and his suspicions – which Nina views as hypocritical – lead them both to make decisions they may live to regret.
~ Excerpt ~
* Like its somewhat snootier sister island Nantucket, the Vineyard is perfect for biking. There are numerous bike lanes, beautiful scenery, cool breezes, and very few hills of any meaningful size. There are also just as many bike rental shops as year-round residents and—surprise, surprise—they’re all situated a stone’s throw from the ferry dock in Oak Bluffs.
* I thought Nina was going to pee her pants from excitement. “We have to get bikes,” she announced. “It’ll be fun.”
* “You sure you don’t want to just walk around for a while and then take a taxi to Edgartown?”
* Nina took a short skip-step and then whirled around so she was standing directly in front of me. She was wearing a pink New England Patriots hat and I watched the brim tip back and forth as she silently counted, using her fingers as a digital abacus making calculations that only she could understand. “Reason Number forty-seven why we can’t get married. We’ve never ridden bikes together.”
* “You’re really reaching now,” I said. “We’ve also never snow-shoed or ridden a camel together.”
* “You’re right. So maybe those should be Reasons Number forty-eight and forty-nine.”
* “You’ve lost your mind.”
* “I thinkest my lord doth protest too much. Perhaps Lord Adam doth not knowest how to rideth de byzzicle.”
* Only Nina could get away with morphing Olde English into cartoon French and not sound like a freak. Perhaps that was Reason Number eighty-seven thousand that I loved her.
* We rented a two-seater. It was my idea.
* “Here’s my concern,” I explained with the solemnity of an attorney arguing a case before the Supreme Court. “I have agreed to go bike riding with you in order to satisfy Reason Number forty-seven. However, based upon the randomness and ever-expanding nature of these capricious reasons-why-Nina-cannot-marry-Adam, I suspect the fact that we have never ridden a bicycle built for two could very well make an appearance on that list sometime down the road. Thus, we can kill two reasons with one credit card swipe.”
* Nina nodded. “Nicely done. You are way smarter than you look.”

A look at Austyn Sherrie & 'Love Resurrected' @austynsherrie @WildRosePress #SweetRomance

Today we have author Austyn Sherrie visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
Austyn Sherrie is a high school Language Arts teacher by day and a romance writer by night. When she’s not teaching students, or taking care of her husband, sixteen-year-old son, and cat named Dracula, she’s in her office penning stories close to her heart. She is the author of eleven novels, and several journal articles under different pen names.

Today Austyn Sherrie will be talking about what sparked the idea for her series and this story.
* Love Resurrected was sparked by my love of everything that encompasses theater, and the idea of childhood sweethearts resurrected lost love. Prior to my career as a high school teacher I worked in theater. I’ve always loved the idea of romance blooming in the creative atmosphere of live production, so with a little push from my muse, I wrote the first story in a (3) book series - Center Stage.
* My hope is that my readers come to love Julia and Parker in Love Resurrected as much as I do. The thought of resurrecting lost love amongst the backdrop of a revival of Jesus Christ Superstar warms my heart. I hope the story touches my readers in the same way it did me.
A look into...

Title: Love Resurrected | Series Name: The Center Stage Series
Theme(s): Reunion, Second Chance Love | SubGenre(s): Contemporary | Imprint: Sweetheart
Rating: Sweet (PG) | Length: Rosette | Page Count: 79 | Word Count: 18000 | Digital Price: $1.99
Praise for Austyn Sherrie
“Austyn Sherrie captures readers with charming characters and a quick wit. I highly recommend her stories.” ~ Johanna Riley, author of For the Love of Matty
“This author is one to most certainly keep your eye on, her writing keeps you intrigued and she demonstrates creativity with her story lines, characterization, and adorable humor. I am definitely going to keep reading Austyn Sherrie.” ~ Susan Tkaczuk
~ Blurb ~
* Parker Davenport is the best actor in Broadway Theater. Although he’s achieved golden status as the romantic lead in various productions, he still aches for the woman he left standing at the altar eleven-years earlier. He accepts the lead role in a well-known revival as a way of winning back Julia Sloan’s heart.
* Julia Sloan is an actress with the voice of an angel with a reputation for giving an emotional performance that leaves not a dry eye in its wake. She jumps at the opportunity to work with a famous director as a lead vocalist in a play. A barrage of emotional turmoil breaks loose when she discovers the man who failed to appear on their wedding day is the lead actor. Will she forgive him and accept their resurrected love?
~ Excerpt ~
* Her stomach clenched with excitement as she made her way toward the alley to find the backstage door. Under the guidance of famed director Jacqueline Van Busen, Julia would learn technique in its rawest form. A desire every serious theater actress yearned for.
* In her anticipation, she hauled open the door, beelined through the entrance, and headed down the narrow hallway toward the stage. Her body tingled with eagerness as she walked onto the round platform.
* After a quick familiarization of her surroundings, she scanned the theater looking for Ms. Van Busen, but instead of finding the director, she found something else. Correction, someone else.
* You’ve got to be kidding me.
* She did a double and then a triple take.
* Her heart palpitated, as if it’d stopped a beat. The intense gaze of his familiar green eyes hit her first. Like a freaking ton of bricks. Memories of why she’d never returned to Orlando for more than a few days each year flooded her. Choking back the urge to be sick, she bit back a gasp to keep from drowning in her own emotions. The words her therapist told her to never forget whispered in her mind. A man can only hurt you if you allow it.
* She pulled herself together at least for the present time. A once-over of him couldn’t hurt. So she let her gaze roam.
* Parker Davenport, looking like a Greek god, leaned against one of the prop pieces and stared. A lock of ebony hair swept across his forehead, and a stray piece plastered against his brow. His form-fitting jeans hugged every inch of his sturdy body. He wasn’t bulky muscular, just down-right perfect. His white T-shirt clung to his body, and the patches of sweat near his armpits and neck even looked sexy.

* Grief over the death of a beloved cousin deepens to shock when Kristen Delmont is given custody of her cousin’s four-week-old son, Matty. When the birth certificate reveals Matty's father is none other than her sexy next-door neighbor, she is torn. Should she hand over the infant to his father and walk away, or should she honor her cousin's wishes and raise the baby as her own?
* The more he behaves as a playboy, the more Kevin Grady wants a family of his own. The beautiful realtor next door and her “inherited” baby seem like the perfect opportunity. The startling discovery that her baby is his couples disbelief with anger, and he storms off with his son.
* Two people, one dream. Will Matty be the glue that keeps them together, or will a heart be shattered forever?

* Museum director Tasha Banner needs a miracle. Without a great deal of luck and even more money, the pioneer museum will close. But when they demonstrate a Scottish New Year’s tradition, a tall, dark, and yummy stranger walks through the door. Have the faeries sent her a miracle wrapped around the man of her dreams or will altering time bring disaster to them all?
* Blacksmith Dougal MacBride walks into his home after a long day and finds strangers celebrating Hogmanay when it’s just days before Christmas. Confused beyond belief and incredibly aroused by the curvaceous bundle in front of his hearth, he is torn between the need to return to his time or remain in the present with the woman who may be his soul mate.
~ Excerpt ~
* “Mac, you can’t be serious.” Tasha looked at him. He definitely looked the part with his clothing and speech but that was impossible. “If he was really Dougal MacBride, he’d be 200 years old.
* Look at him. He’s a thirty-year-old gym jock.”
* “A what?” asked Dougal.
* “What if he is really from the past?” Mac lowered her voice and shrugged. “We wished for help and he showed up.”
* Tasha glanced at Dougal. He did look like he belonged in this log cabin. “He can’t be.”
* “You have to admit, he looks and sounds authentic enough.”
* Every time she looked at him, Tasha wanted to push him onto the rope bed and ride the hell out of him. “So do people in the movies, but they aren’t real either.”
* “’Tis rude to be talking about me while I’m standing in front of ye.” Dougal glowered at them.
* Mac pulled Tasha to her feet and led her across the room toward Dougal. “Mr. MacBride, I’m Mackenzie Smith, Mac for short, and this is Tasha Banner.” She extended her hand to Dougal. “Pleased to meet you.”
* Dougal glanced down at Mac’s hand but didn’t take it.
* Mac dropped her hand to her side when he failed to grasp it. “We, Tasha and I, wished for the faeries to help us save the village museum and you walked through the door. The faeries have smiled on us this fine day.” “Mac stop,” said Tasha.

Susan Edwards & 'Summer Of The Eagle' @susan_edwards @GoddessFish #Romance #Western

Today we have author Susan Edwards visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Susan resides in California with her husband of thirty + years. She love animals. Cats currently number six as she just rescued a kitten named Luna last fall. She now considers herself to be a crazy cat lady! She also has three dogs. Two adorable Chiweenies named JJ and Abbey and temporary (ha!) custody of Shasta, her daughter’s six year old, Great Pyrenees mix.
* Susan also enjoys crafts of all sorts including quilting, sewing, cross-stitch and knitting. Knitting and crochet are her current passions although with the arrival of her first granddaughter, her sewing machine as seen the light of day. She is also an avid gardener. Through her love of all things Native American, she designed a 26-foot Medicine Wheel Garden. It’s a big project but one that she loves, except when the weeds threaten. Right now, with her crazy, busy schedule, the weeds are winning the war!
* Camping, fishing, biking and hiking (when not hot) are other outdoor pursuits she and her husband enjoy. She is of course, an avid reader and hates cooking and housework. While writing, she listens to a wide variety of music, including Neil Diamond, Celtic, Native American, New Age, Classical, and mood music (bagpipes and howling wolves drive my family nuts). Her current favorites are Blackmore’s Night and David Lanz.
* Native American/Western romance writer Susan Edwards is the author of the popular “White” Series. She was nominated for the Romantic Times Career Achievement Award for Western Historical and Reviewer’s Choice Best Book Award. She is very pleased to be able to offer to her readers her White series in Digital Format, along with her SpiritWalker series.

A look into...
~ Blurb ~
* The most powerful woman in her tribe, Blaze can heal with a touch, control the elements, merge her mind with any living creature and more. Yet, she is an outcast. Her people fear her and she herself is afraid of the things she can do. There is darkness in her visions, along with a tall, buckskin-clad stranger with golden-brown hair and eyes as green as the leaves on trees. Somehow, he is her destiny.
* Luc Cordell is done with trapping. He yearns for civilization and a normal life. His only regret is leaving behind his family. But his father’s second wife is a SpiritWalker, and now, so is his father. How can Luc live with people who run with the wolves or soar across the heavens with the owls? Yet when a haunted healer with stars in her colorful eyes enters his life, he is drawn into the mystical world whether he likes it or not.
* The winds of change are sweeping across the land, taking Luc and Blaze into a world of lies, deceit, and murder. Together, they search for truth and must turn to the eagles for answers.
~ Excerpt ~
* The sound of a whine drew her attention. The injured wolf limped into the tall, dried grass. He turned and gave a low keening howl. It took a moment for her overwhelmed mind to spot the booted foot poking out of the brush. When she did, she hurried over. Parting the grass, she stilled and the air left her lungs.
* “Oh, no.” She stared into open, sightless green eyes. These same eyes she’d seen in her crystals, those of the handsome trapper. Blaze rushed to his side, tears sliding down her face. “I’m too late!” Staring down at strong, rugged features, she pulled out her clear crystal and held it in one hand. It was completely blank. No green eyes, no red blood. Just the stars that seemed to pulse with life. Braced for the horror of death, she cupped her palm to one side of the young trapper’s face, feeling as though she’d lost part of her soul.
* Setting the crystal on his chest, she was startled when a tiny spark of green flickered in the heart of the stone. She kept her palm on his face and leaned close, her breath fanning his face as she stretched out her other hand, holding it over him. She lowered her palm to his bloody chest. There was no heartbeat, no sign of air going in and out of his lungs, yet she felt something, not physical but deeper. His body might have given up, but the spirit of the man remained.
* “No.” She pressed her hand hard onto his chest and gripped the side of his face. Tears slipped from her eyes. One dripped onto his cheek. “You cannot go.” Beneath her hand, she felt a sudden jolt, and hope flared in her soul. “I’m not too late.”
* Without thought to the danger of retrieving a soul that had already departed the body, she merged with the stranger. He didn’t feel like such a stranger to her heart.

Sydney St. Claire & 'BEAUTY SUBMITS TO HER BEAST' @Sydneystclaire @GoddessFish #romance

Today we have author Sydney St. Claire visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Sydney St. Claire is the pseudonym of Susan Edwards, author of 14 Historical Native American/Western/Paranormal romances and the author of the popular “White” Series.
* Sydney loves writing and sharing stories of love, happiness and dreams come true with her readers. She credits her mother for her writing success. Encouraged to read as a child, she always preferred happy endings which meant romances were her favorite genre. Sydney takes her readers into the world of erotica romance where her characters come together in explosive passion as they solve life’s problems and find true love along with the best sex our hero and heroine have ever experienced.
* Sydney’s office is quite crowded with three dogs at her feet and five cats to keep her company while she writes. Three cats always insist on beds on her desk, barely leaving enough room for her monitor and keyboard. Life gets fun when all five insist on supervising…
* When not writing, she enjoys crafts of all sorts including quilting, sewing, cross-stitch and knitting. She and her husband of 30 + years are avid gardeners. He takes care of the veggies, and Susan is in charge of the ‘pretties’. Her medicine wheel garden is in a contact state of war: flowers vs. weeds. Sadly, right now the weeds are wining…
* While writing, she listens to a wide variety of music. Her current favorites are Blackmore’s Night and David Lanz.

What are you going to tell us about today?
* My story, BEAUTY SUBMITS TO HER BEAST.
A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* Rancher Caitlin Olsen is in complete control of her life. After years of taking care of others, she’s on her own and loving every minute. She has her horses and her ranch. What more does she need? Yet deep inside, she yearns to give up all her responsibilities and simply experience life. When a friend suggests she try a bit of BDSM role-play, she does her research and accepts an invitation to Pleasure Manor for a fairy tale event.
* War hero and Dominant, Damon Steele is a loner. His failure to keep his men alive destroyed too many hopes and dreams. He won’t be responsible for anyone else's life or happiness ever again. There’s no room in his life—or his heart—for romance. Instead, he satisfies his needs at BDSM clubs and never with the same sub. Taking part in the fairy tale event at Pleasure Manor is difficult enough, but when Beauty challenges him both in the bedroom and out, he’s not sure he can control his inner beast.
~ Excerpt ~
* “Damon, could you come over here?” She held the reins of the two in bad shape.
* He joined her. “Caitlin—”
* “Look at them. Mistreated, abused, and abandoned. Now they’ll find hope, contentment, and happiness. They’ll never go hungry or be alone. They’ll learn to trust and love. Their lives start here. And they’ll live to be old and die here.”
* “I’m not a horse to be saved, Caitlin. I’m not abused or mistreated or starved.” He shoved aside the abandonment he’d felt as a child. He’d gotten over his childhood a long time ago but knew he’d never forgive himself for abandoning his men.
* She met his gaze, her whiskey-dark eyes churning with emotion and the sheen of tears. “You abuse yourself, Damon. You mistreat you, and you are as starved as any of these horses. Not of food but of acceptance and forgiveness. Like each of these animals, you’ve lost hope. These animals were helpless to change their situations. They couldn’t fight for happiness. But you can.” Her gaze turned intense. “And you will.”
* She cupped the side of his face with one hand. “I’m not asking you to stay for me, not even asking for you to give us a chance. I want to help you heal and find your way back.”
* He lowered his forehead to hers. “Caitlin…”
* His throat closed off, stopping him from telling her he didn’t deserve what she offered. He closed his eyes. He was better off alone, but her touch, her scent, her voice arrowed deep into his being. Some long-denied part of him screamed for what she offered.
* A hard nudge to his shoulder threw him off balance, and he landed on his ass. Blinking, he glared at the black horse with sad eyes staring down at him. She lowered her head and snorted, her breath fanning his face. “What the hell?”
* Caitie laughed gently. “I think you’ve been claimed.” She reached down and helped Damon to his feet. She handed him the reins. “She’s yours.”
* “What?” This time when the animal butted against him, he was braced and ready.
* “While you’re here, you are responsible for her care. You’ll feed her, clean her stall, exercise her, groom her, make her feel safe, and teach her to trust and love.”
* “That’s a tall order for a couple hours.” He eyed the mare and swore he felt a connection as he stared into her large, soft, brown eyes.
* Caitlin patted his shoulder. “Oh, I think you’ll be here longer.”
* The sound of wheels crunching gravel had him whipping around. “Dammit.” Glorie rolled down her window. “I packed what I could for you while you were in the shower.” She wrinkled her nose. “Might need to wash most of them first.” She waggled her fingers, then she and her car shot down the drive toward the highway.

She's the co-author of the best selling and award winning, "Lessons from the Mountain, What I Learned from Erin Walton," with the actress Mary McDonough. A member of the RWA and ACFW, she also blogs, tweets and Pinterests when she’s not dreaming up new stories or planning a 'round the continent RV trip when said husband retires.

What are you going to tell us about today?
* My suspense, thriller story: The Kaleidoscope.
A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* Harold Donaldson unwillingly becomes the custodian of a beautiful, handcrafted kaleidoscope that changes the viewer’s future and becomes the focus of evil operatives intent on capturing the kaleidoscope for nefarious purposes. Brilliant but socially inept, Harold has distanced himself from any connection to his dysfunctional childhood. Abandoned by a father accused of his mother’s death, Harold trusts no one until the ’scope forces him to accept a circle of friends he must rely on. To protect all their lives from imminent danger, Harold must discover the source of the ’scope’s mysterious powers. Just as he is on the verge of learning how it works and why his past connects to his future, he must face disturbing truths he’s run from all his life.
~ Excerpt ~
* She yanked off the scarf and dropped it into his lap, climbed up on the bench and began leaping from one bench to the next, her sandals slapping the concrete.
* Harold was afraid she would slip and fall, and wondered whether he should first call someone, or check her for ABC’s if she did. But she jumped lightly, a sprite among the forest of potted birds of paradise. Airway, breathing, c...what was the C for?
* “I’ve always wanted to do this! Haven’t you?” Where the benches were too far apart, Pepper scissor- kicked to the ground and danced. Harold could breathe as long as she was safely on the ground, her arms aloft, her body swaying. Then she would leap up again, the sun reflecting off bald spots between shags of spirally hair. And she laughed. Not a scary, maniacal sound, but a child-like whiffle that whisked Harold back to the elementary school when Edna Velasquez had tried to jump around the lunchroom but fell and broke her arm when she slipped in pudding. Harold was the only one Edna didn’t pester to sign her cast. Circulation. That was what C stood for.
* Pepper collapsed next to him, panting, her caramel skin aglow. She was a china doll with kewpie lips and taffy-pulled earlobes. “That felt good, Harry.” She dabbed at her upper lip with the scarf, a tiny rattle in her breath. “You should dance more. We should all dance more.”
* The warmth from her body awoke something in him that had long been dormant. Confused emotions tangled somewhere in his soul, and he met her gaze.
* “What makes you dance, Harry? What stirs your soul?”
* She’d dared to pull at the thread he’d buried underneath years of proving himself worthy, smart. Sane. “I find satisfaction in my work.”
* “And what is that? No, wait. Let me guess. You’re a Pez-head designer. No, a sign spinner for discount plastic surgeons. I could use one of those by the way.”
* He knew better than to acknowledge her cosmetic surgery remark. Honest answers to conversations beginning with “Am I pretty enough?” and “I’m thinking of getting work done” had never gone well with Georgia. “I’m a fraud investigator.”

The renaissance fair is filled with characters and romance, but will it end in storybook love?
* Schoolteacher Connie Meyers is suddenly a young widow, her husband killed in a horrific car accident. Heartbroken to find out he had gambled away everything they had, she moves to her sister-in-law's Midwest home to rebuild her life. A trip to the local Renaissance Faire with her nieces leads to a summer job as a costumed storyteller.
* Avowed bad boy and fair performer Gage Younglood is infatuated with Connie at first sight. Despite his deliberately commitment-free life, and Connie's don't-touch-me attitude, he soon has her in his arms, realizing quickly she is also in his heart.
* When she is threatened by her late husband's bookie, he steps into the role of protector, his fate forever sealed with hers.
~ Excerpt ~
* “Who said anything about a relationship?” he said, standing up so he could tower over her again. “I’m just trying to have a little fun. You know, fun?”
* If he’d been an animal, she was sure he’d have had hair raised on the back of his neck, he seemed so angry, and it struck her painfully. She hadn’t wanted to anger him or hurt him. She turned away from him and closed her eyes to tamp down the tears she knew would come if she let them. She crossed her arms over her chest, to hold in the pain. Being tired made her much too vulnerable.
* “Yes,” she finally said. “I know about fun. Life isn’t always fun, though.”
* “Princess.” His voice was soft, tender. “I won’t hurt you. It’s not in my plan.”
* Despite herself, she felt the shivers of desire race down from her shoulders, down her arms and legs, and back up to that secret, soft place at her core. She bowed her head and gritted her teeth, hoping for the feeling to go away.
* “And what is your plan, Gage?”
* “It’s a simple plan. I want you to feel good. I want to feel good, too.”

Today we have author Cait Jarrod visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Hi everyone! I have an official street team, Cait’s Classy Chicks, that launched the day of my latest release! To join, click here
* As a child, I entertained myself for hours playing pretend, but not with dolls and such. I created stories and pictured them in my mind, sometimes even acted them out, my well preserved secret until now. I spent years after leaving school trying to figure out my niche. Not being a literary enthusiast, I never thought my childhood pastime would lead in this direction. In life, one door closes and another opens, so I’m told. This was true for me. I lost my mother, my best friend, to cancer. After a year without her, I picked up her favorite hobby…reading. After one book, a romantic suspense, I was hooked. In the past, I’d fall asleep after a few minutes of reading. Now, books rank up there with a good red wine. It didn’t take long for my childhood muse to come back in adult version urging me to put the scenes in my head on paper. Why do I write romantic suspense? I love writing and creating the meet-cue (the point where the hero and heroine meet) to the blossoming of the romance. Add a suspenseful plot or a good mystery to the equation and the perfect book is born to curl up to and lose yourself in, taking you away from reality, troubles. I hope I have provided you with the escape similar to the ones I conjured in childhood and rediscovered as an adult, and I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I have loved creating them. Cait’s debut novel, Kidnapped Hearts, won awards in the categories of Best Happily Ever After and Best Suspense. Cait lives in Virginia with her husband and three daughters.

What are you going to tell us about today?
* My story Breaking All Barriers and a comfort food recipe.
* A bit about Breaking All Barriers: Businessman Cole Dunbar breaks away from inventing the latest gadgets when the woman who has broken through his protective walls turns up missing. A deadly storm and a sex trafficking ring have Cole racing against time and breaking all barriers to find Dina Wright. But does Dina need saving?
Now... Can anyone say comfort food?
* Before all hell broke loose in Breaking All Barriers, Vince had planned to cook his famous chili for his best friend, Dina, her love interest Cole, and Dina’s roommate, Monique. They planned to eat chili and watch movies while they waited out the deadly storm hitting New York City. Eh, sometimes things don’t go according to plan, but here’s the recipe for you to enjoy!
Two Beer Chili
Ingredients
2-4 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 pounds boneless beef chuck, cubed
2 large onions
3 green peppers
2 teaspoons of moist garlic
3 28 oz cans of tomatoes-diced or whole
2 cubes of beef bouillon
1 large can of red kidney beans
A dash of Salt
A couple shakes of pepper
1/3 cup chili powder
½-1 teaspoon of granulated garlic
Jalapenos-the number depending on how hot you like it.
Thickening—either flour or cornstarch—*always mix with water before adding to soup. Otherwise, the broth will turn out lumpy.
Directions
In a large pot, brown the cubed beef in vegetable oil over medium heat. Add a tablespoon of moist garlic. Once done, transfer meat to a plate.
Add more oil to the pot, if necessary. Add the chopped onions and peppers. Add another teaspoon of garlic. Cook until the onions are golden and the peppers are tender.
Once done, add tomatoes with juices, chili powder, kidney beans-no need to drain, jalapenos, and return the beef back to the pot. Add salt and pepper and thicken the broth a little with either flour or cornstarch—*check the note above. Drop the beef bouillon into the pot.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, partially covered for 2-4 hours. Stir often, making sure you’re mixing the ingredient off the bottom of the pot so nothing sticks.
I test taste the chili in about an hour and add more salt, pepper, garlic, or chili powder according to your taste.
Toppings
Shredded cheese, sour cream or macaroni elbows.

* A little tidbit of about how I came up with the name:
* Years ago, my then boyfriend—now husband—would make the chili extremely hot. It took me two beers to get through one bowl, hence the name Two Beer Chili.
* Hope you enjoy! ~ Cait
Breaking All Barriers snippet...
* “Tell me, Dina. Is this what you want?” Love and sincerity reflected in his heavy-lidded gaze.
* She wanted this, them together, him, forever . “Yes,” she said around the thick ball of emotion lodged in her throat. The expression she couldn’t name moments ago shined deep within his eyes… belonging . “I want you.”
...and another
* “Would you explain something to me?”
* His deep voice combined with the sexual undertones of his hot gaze spread warmth over her entire body. “What?”
* “Explain why I want you so damn bad, I can’t think of anything else, but you? Explain why I want to take you until you cry out my name?”

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* Businessman Cole Dunbar stays focused inventing the latest techno gadgets. When he learns of his deceased wife’s betrayal, he shuts the door on any personal relationships.
* There’s just one problem—the sexy Dina Wright who lives down the hall. He can’t keep her out of his thoughts and fantasies. When he sees her frightened on a New York City street, he tosses aside his reservations and kisses her.
* Dina is high on life. Not only is she starting an advertising agency and her best friend returns to NYC, an honest-to-God hunk is sending her spine-tingling looks.
* Despite past betrayals interfering, the budding romance picks up momentum, but Mother Nature spins her wrath. Amidst the chaos, Dina vanishes.
* Cole can’t sit still while the FBI investigates. He takes matters into his own hands and breaks all barriers to find her.

* A single gunshot echoed in the night.
* An invisible death-grip tightened his throat. The road and buildings warped. Sound faded. Cole’s fear came to fruition, the worst moment of his life.
* He needed eyes on Dina now!
* Cole forced his legs to move faster into the darkness. The small amount of glow, seeping around the trailer from the junker’s headlights, gave him a visual to the only other intact car, parked next to the overturned truck.
* The cloud pattern shifted and the moon brightened the darkened sky. Beyond the downed trailer, demolished truck, past the crinkled unmarked car, hope soared, clenching Cole’s heart and stealing his breath. He stopped and stared, not sure if he could believe his eyes.
* The moon spotlighted Dina standing in the middle of the wreckage, staring at the road, her body shaking. Fright and pain visible in her profile felt like a bullet to his chest, forcing the wind out of his lungs and weakening his muscles.
* Her gaze left whatever caught her attention and she peered over her shoulder. Their gazes locked. In that moment of time, no one else existed, not the swirling bright blue and red lights approaching or the loud sirens demanding attention.

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* Raven Hart, a succubus bounty hunter for Hell, is on a hunt. With her query in sight, she hits a brick wall, or rather the very hard chest of a giant sexy man. She might have lost the prize for now, but she's a winner when the hottie wants to get physical.
* Marcus Dionysius, a Nephilim working for Heaven, has one mission—to prevent Hell’s beauty from stealing souls meant for the higher plane. But he soon realizes he’s met his sexual match. She’s naughty enough to tempt his senses, but her innocence means he can’t walk away when she needs him most.
* Working together to discover who’s snatching souls from Heaven, they realize the true danger is falling in love.
~ Excerpt ~
* Raven looked over at him. “Marcus, this is the coroner, Doctor Hill. Doc, this is my new partner, Detective Marcus Dionysius.”
* Marcus extended his hand to the doctor, but he just paced back and forth, ignoring the proffered handshake. “Oh, my dear, you shouldn’t see this.”
* “Doc, I’m a detective. There isn’t much I haven’t seen.” Raven’s no-nonsense tone had no effect on the doctor. “No, dear, not this time.” He took her by the elbow and led her a few feet away from the body. Shaking his head, he continued, “This time it’s too personal. You don’t need to see this.” He pointed at the body on the ground. “It’s Stephen, my dear.”
* Marcus watched shock flash across her face for a moment before she got control again. She wasn’t expecting to see her late partner. She hadn’t done this, but that didn’t clear her of the other attacks.
* The captain was sleazy. Everyone in heaven and hell knew it. And everyone thought that because Raven worked so closely with him, she was part of his plan. Marcus hoped the sexy succubus wasn’t connected with hell’s mess. He moved closer to the body.
* Doctor Hill glanced at him and stopped talking.
* Clearing his throat, Marcus said softly to Raven, “I’ll handle this if you’re not up to it. The captain can assign another detective to work the case with me.”
* Raven looked up at him, anger flaring in her eyes as she answered, “What do you think I am? Some fragile female who can’t do her job?”
