The Beyond The Veil series started out as a fun exercise in our Sinfully More Erotic Street Team group and we’ve had such a great time writing them! So far, we have 5 books planned in the series, but I wouldn't be surprised if more sprout up along the way. All three of us fell in love with this mysterious world Beyond The Veil as well as our very overprotective Shifters on this side of the Veil.

When she stepped out of the bathroom, Donovan and Jason were waiting for her in the bedroom. Donovan sat at the edge of the king-sized bed while Jason looked at her from the armchair next to it. She didn’t miss the fact that they both ogled her bare legs as she stepped closer to them. She felt her entire body heat up from the intensity of their stares.

“I like the way my shirt looks on you, angel.” Donovan’s voice was low and husky. He got up suddenly from the bed to stand in front of her. “Talk to us, April. Please.”

“How could the two of you still possibly want me?” April’s words came out rushed and strangled. She closed her eyes, swallowing the rest of the speech she had prepared for them as if her vocal cords stubbornly refused to say goodbye to them.

“Cut that shit out, April,” Jason bellowed before he, too, stood before her. She flinched at the harshness of his tone. “I’m the one who failed you. Not the other way around.”

“How can you say that? It was me Kheelan was after all this time. Not you. He took Dee and God knows how many others, all to get to me. Oh God, Dee! Have they found her yet?”

“No,” Donovan said quietly. “But we will. I swear it.”

“He’ll just keep coming for me.” She reached out and placed her hand on Jason’s cheek. “I felt so helpless when you were in that cell. I can’t bear the thought of him hurting you like that again.” She turned to Donovan and put her other hand on his cheek. “And it’s not only Jason’s screams I dreamt about. Sometimes it was you I pictured Kheelan torturing. I’d rather die than to ever let him get his hands on either of you. Not when I can prevent it.” She took a deep steady breath. Her words would not fail her this time. “You both have to let me go.”

“Fuck that!” Jason growled. Before she even had time to blink, she found herself tossed on the bed. Her hands were held above her head by Donovan while Jason fiercely, unyieldingly took her mouth in a fiery kiss. She returned it with the same fervor, unable to help herself.

April had no time to think, to collect her thoughts, for as soon as Jason released her lips, Donovan took his place. He released the grip he had on her wrists, but instead of pushing him away, she wrapped her hands around his neck and pulled him closer to her. She’d only had a brief taste of him when he came to rescue her from the dungeons, so this felt like their first real kiss. She found her resolve quickly fading because she sensed their pain at the thought of her leaving them. She knew she didn’t have the strength to walk away from them on her own, and it seemed that neither of her stubborn men was willing to let her go.

When Donovan ended their kiss, he looked deeply into her eyes and cradled her face. Like that first night with Jason, she felt as if he could see the inside of her soul. He wasn’t repulsed by her or angry. Instead, he looked at her with longing and adoration.

“That’s not the way this works, my angel. Whatever happens to one of us, happens to all three.”

“And we would chase you to the ends of the Earth, April,” Jason added. “So don’t even think about running from us.”

“Let us show you how much we want you, angel.” Donovan nuzzled her ear as he spoke.

“Yes,” she whispered, closing her eyes, prompting Donovan to continue with his assault on her ear. He licked her inner shell then proceeded to torment her ear with soft bites and kisses, eliciting a few successive moans from her. He moved onto to delivering the same attention to her neck while Jason’s warm hands caressed her bare legs.

Donovan cupped her face. She opened up her eyes for a brief moment and saw him hovering over her. His lips quirked in an adorable sly smile before he pressed them to hers. He kissed her softly at first, their tongues barely touching, but when she hugged him to her tightly, he deepened the kiss, moaning into her mouth. His hand cupped her breast over the thick sweatshirt, but she felt it searing into her skin as if she had been wearing nothing at all.

She felt Jason shift in between her legs. His hands roamed up her thighs, and under her shirt, stopping at her hips. He placed his forehead on her lower stomach. “Do you have any idea how difficult it has been lying here, not touching you, knowing you had nothing underneath this sweatshirt?” His voice, muffled by said shirt, sounded strained.

Donovan hummed in agreement and moved on to kissing her neck. She nudged him a little so that he could give her room to sit up. She then lifted her hands in the air. It didn’t take long for them to catch her meaning. Donovan peeled off the sweatshirt from her body, slowly revealing every naked inch of her to their gaze.

ABOUT SARAH MARSH

Sarah Marsh was born in British Columbia where she still lives. She has only recently began her writing career, finding it the perfect outlet for taking the edge off a nine to five office job. She’s been a science fiction and romance junkie for years and when her imagination started to take the characters she’d read about even further in their adventures, she decided to try writing something of her own.

Sarah’s also a former pastry chef and spends a lot of time cooking and baking for friends and family as well as painting and knitting. Her biggest weaknesses are animals of any kind … she even loves the ones that wake you up at four in the morning because they can almost see the bottom of their food dish.

When it comes to life in general, she’s a big believer that laughter is the best medicine and that there’s no such thing as too much love, which is why she’s such a sucker for a happy ending.

Q: Every book is special to an author. What is it about this book that makes it special for you?
* A: This is the second book in a series of four and it all stemmed from an image I found that sparked my interest. That is one of the very real reasons I love writing! You find inspiration everywhere and a story idea can strike at any time.

Q: Sometimes things happen when you are writing a series that wasn’t expected at all. Have you had this happen to you?
* A: Heaps! I am not a planner. I am a write-by-the-set-of-your-panties kinda girl. There have been moments where I will finish up a scene and be like WTF? I did not see that coming! This whole series started with an image I found that I simply couldn’t let go of.

Q. Why do you always include a danger element to your books?
* A. I write what I love to read. I love books that take you on a journey, but where the characters face a challenge that adds an element of urgency to them and to the book. As a reader, there is nothing I like more than getting that goose bump, hair rising on the back of my neck feeling as I join the characters within the book I am reading on the journey to solve their mystery. I want to give that to my readers.

Q. What are you working on at the moment?
* A. I have book nine of the Grey River series, as well as book three in the Sniper Team Bravo series. There is also a new Shifter Ménage series coming soon and a standalone MM as well. Soooo many stories to tell, so little time!

Q. Do you have anything to say to your current readers or to those that haven’t yet read you work?
* A. If you have read any of my books, thank you so very much! It blows my mind that someone has actually read something that I wrote, but gosh I hope you enjoyed it! Did you? Please let me know, I find I suffer from a slight case of needy-nelly with my writing. ~ A Q&A ~ * Q: Where did your inspiration come from for this novella?
* A: Evernight asked for submissions for their Dark Anthology, and I submitted this book for it. I found out I am not so good at writing the darkness into my characters, there is too much humor and love for it to be dark, but I loved Liam an Scott and am grateful that their story has been told.

* Scott froze against the wall, blinking rapidly to get his eyes accustomed to the light. “How do you know my name? Who are you and what the hell do you want with me?”
* “There’s not a whole hell of a lot I don’t know about you, Scott,” the man answered dryly.
* Scott dropped his hand and looked up at his captor. In any other circumstance, the man before him would have captured his attention. He was exactly the sort of man that Scott liked and fantasized about. He was tall, at least six foot four, and built like he knew his way around a gym and worked his way around one every chance he got. He had wavy black hair, short on the sides but longer on top, a square jaw with a day’s stubble, and blue eyes that had Scott’s heart stuttering within his chest. Did he know those eyes? Shaking his head and blaming it on the knock to his head, Scott put that thought aside and concentrated on what the man was saying.
* “I know you are Scott Theodore Majors, you’re an ER nurse at St Luke’s, and you’ve just finished your shifts for the week. You’re not rostered on for the next four days.”
* Scott started to tremble. From his medical training, he knew that shock was starting to set in.
* Scott’s mind whirled. “I have a boyfriend, and he’s expecting me home. He would have called the police by now.” The man’s eyes narrowed, and Scott thought he might have just made a critical error.
* “Did I not just finish telling you that there isn’t a lot I don’t know about you, Scott?” He whirled away and walked to a door Scott hadn’t noticed before. He opened it and switched the light on. “We are currently in the basement of my house, on my property in the middle of nowhere. My nearest neighbors are more than fifteen miles away, and no one comes to visit. There are no windows in this room, or in the bathroom through that door. The only way out is the way we just came. If you simply stay put and do what I tell you to do, then you will be comfortable. However, if you try to escape, I will move up my schedule and that will not go well for you.”
* Scott’s stomach dropped. “Why?” he asked hoarsely, still none the wiser.
* The man sighed, and sadness filled his eyes. “Sometimes, it’s the children that must pay for the sins of the father. That’s simply the way life goes.”

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Maia Dylan lives, loves and works in beautiful New Zealand. She married her best friend and they have two adorable, but stubborn children who obviously take after their father.
* Maia’s career has featured a lot of travel, and she has filled her time at airports and in the air with books, books and more books. Her love of erotic paranormal romance has seen her amass a huge library. She has been an avid reader and lover of ménage romances since she read her first book in this genre about three years ago.
* Outside of writing, Maia loves to eat, so she loves to cook! Her herb garden is legendary, but she still has issues getting tomatoes to grow. She’s been a performer for years, and has even sung on international stages, she would love to own a classic Ford Mustang one day and of course have the opportunity to race it on a race track without fear of a speeding ticket.
* Although ultimately her dream is to be able to write full time on a sandy beach with a Mai Tai at hand, she is quite happy to fit her writing in when she can. As long as someone reads her books, gets a laugh and maybe come to love her characters and much as she does, then she feels that she is living her dreams no matter what!

What is it about this book that makes it special for you?
* A: This is my first MM. I have loved this genre from the first time I read Stormy Glenn, Sam Crescent and Cree Storm. There is something about the powerful expressions and imagery you can create with the scenes are between two male characters, especially the hot scenes!
Q: Sometimes things happen when you are writing a series that wasn’t expected at all. Have you had this happen to you?
* A: Heaps! I am not a planner. I am a write-by-the-set-of-your-panties kinda girl. There have been moments where I will finish up a scene and be like WTF? I did not see that coming! This whole series started with an image I found that I simply couldn’t let go of.
Q. Why do you always include a danger element to your books?
* A. I write what I love to read. I love books that take you on a journey, but where the characters face a challenge that adds an element of urgency to them and to the book. As a reader, there is nothing I like more than getting that goose bump, hair rising on the back of my neck feeling as I join the characters within the book I am reading on the journey to solve their mystery. I want to give that to my readers.
Q. What are you working on at the moment?
* A. I have book eight of the Grey River series over half way, as well as book two in the Sniper Team Bravo series. There is also a new Shifter Ménage series coming soon and a standalone MM as well. Soooo many stories to tell, so little time!
Q. Do you have anything to say to your current readers or to those that haven’t yet read you work?
* A. If you have read any of my books, thank you so very much! It blows my mind that someone has actually read something that I wrote, but gosh I hope you enjoyed it! Did you? Please let me know, I find I suffer from a slight case of needy-nelly with my writing. If you haven’t read my book, but you love erotic romance stories between strong men and an independent woman, where the path to their happily ever after can be a bumpy one, but there is always a happily ever after, and their love and laugher is real on every page, then you’ll find my books right up your alley! erotic romance, MM, Military, anal sex ~ Excerpt ~ * Forgetting all of his training and everything he should have done next to ensure the safety of his team, Devon ran forward, dropping to his knees beside the prone figure. “Oh, shit, Finn.” There was no missing the fear in his voice. With hands that shook, he checked for a pulse and breathed a sigh of relief at the rhythmic thumps he felt against his fingers.
* As gently as he could, Devon rolled Finn onto his back, and his breath caught at the sight of swelling and bruising around his left eye. “Jesus Christ, Finn, what the hell happened?” Devon ran his hands over his skull, searching for any contusions or swelling that could indicate a head injury or concussion. He breathed a sigh of relief when he found nothing.
* Finn moaned, and his eyes fluttered open, and not for the first time, Devon found himself drowning in his beautiful green eyes and wondering why in the hell Finn was in the house. “Dev?” Finn asked in a weak voice. An ache settled in his chest. He had heard that voice in his dreams on so many nights, but hearing it now, weak with pain rather than passion, just about killed him.
* “Yeah, Finn, it’s me,” Dev answered as he swept a lock of Finn’s dark hair from his forehead. “Where else does it hurt, baby? I want to get you up onto the bed so Sam can get a look, but I don’t want to hurt you.” A flash of hurt that Devon knew had nothing to do with his injuries flickered in Finn’s eyes before his anger apparently rose to mask it.
* “It’s none of your concern where the pain is, and I sure as hell am not your baby,” Finn said, sneering the last word and Devon nodded. He understood Finn’s anger and accepted it to a point.
* “LT, Sam’s headed out to your truck to grab his med kit,” Marcel said from the door. “You need any help getting Finn up onto the bed?”
* Devon looked in earnest at Finn whose eyes narrowed, attempting to read his mood. “No, Marcel, I do not need any help getting Finn into bed. I can do that all on my own,” he said with a bit of humor.
* Finn growled over the guys’ laughter in the background. “Get the hell away from me, Devon Roberts, I can make it to the bed myself.” Finn gritted his teeth and rolled to his side, a groan of pain caused any humor on Dev’s part to evaporate. Frowning, Devon swiftly swept Finn up and into his arms, wincing at his quick inhalation of breath.
* Devon moved swiftly to the bed, waiting while Marcel removed the dust cloth, then laid Finn down on the quilt, absently noting that it was the same damn one he had used all those years ago. “Stop it!” Devon ordered as Finn started to struggle to stand. “Stay there, Finn, and let Sam have a look at you.” Sam put his med kit on the bed and opened it, but Finn kept trying to stand. Devon reached out a hand and gently gripped his chin, tilting Finn’s face up so that their gazes locked together.
* “I mean it, Finn. Stop trying to move around, and let Sam have a look at you. Once we have you all squared away, you are going to tell me what the fuck happened.” A red hue rose up Finn’s face and his gaze slid away, but Devon gently turned his face so Finn had no choice but to look at him once more. “You are going to tell me who did this to you, Finn. I know what being beaten looks like, and you will tell me who turned their fists on you.”
* “What do you care, Dev?” Finn’s expression turned bleak and he kept his voice low, obviously uncomfortable with the attention, and Devon’s heart ached even more. “You’ve had eight years to pick up the phone and see how I was doing. Now, last time I checked my cell phone, I hadn’t missed any calls so I figure you didn’t really give a shit. So why bother now?”
