Katrine Smithson, what would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Well, I’m from St. Elainseville, which I use to think was the center of the world until I discovered there are whole other worlds out there. Not in the sky or anything, just out there, as if by magic.
* There I was walking to work one day - I work at the local convent, helping the sisters, mainly in the infirmary – when I saw card lying in the middle of the path. I picked it up, to put it in a bin if nothing else, but there was writing on it. Directions really, and they kept changing. It may have been a bit impulsive to follow them but that’s what I did. Almost as if it was meant to be. I guess that’s where the story begins, because it was the card that led me to Lerrendor, a land filled with magic. More importantly it led me to Prince Wilhelm and my destiny.

Are you happy with the way people perceive you?
* It wasn’t something I used to think about and then when I ended up in Lerrendor at a castle, with royalty I felt so out of place. I suddenly became aware of my humble origins. It was hard to believe that Wilhelm might love me for myself when surrounded by so many ladies that sparkled. I mean seriously they had jewels sewn into their dresses.
* Many of them weren’t kind though. It’s who you are inside that counts, that’s what I’ve learned through this story. Now I’m more aware of how people perceive me and I value those who see past the clothes I came with.

Does your author ever try to take over the story? And how do you deal with it?
* We were getting along fine, the story was just the way it should be for a fairytale, with the magic firmly dictating what happened, then came edits. Suddenly my author’s talking about adding in a whole new dimension, creating some kind of link between what happens in my world and a book in her world’s library. Luckily she talked round in circles about it with a friend and someone heard when I whispered the word Fairy Goodmother. So much easier.

If you were taken out of the story and placed into your author’s world, what would be the first thing you’d do?
* Check I had a magic card to guide me. It’s crazy enough jumping world without some magical help.

If you could pull your author into your world, what do you think would happen to them?
* Maybe they’d find love too. Anything can happen in a Fairytale.

What was the best sexual experience you’ve had?
* Now, you’re making me blush. I mean the things Wilhelm come ups with… I can’t say, just read the warning on the book.

Moving On is the series title and With His Handy Man is the book that launches the series and my writing of gay fiction. There are plenty more planned that will cross different genres but all with the theme of a main character moving on from a past relationship. Welcome!

Tom, what would you like to tell readers about yourself? For instance, Where are you from? Do you have an interesting job? What brought you to the setting/point in the story where you come in? Etcetera...
* Telling someone about oneself is always the hard part isn’t it? The questions make me think of online dating and having to write an ad with all your best features laid out. I don’t think I would have been very good at that so I’m glad I don’t have to. Sorry, I’m jumping ahead, yes the questions. Here goes.
* I’m Tom, a fairly normal sort of bloke, from London originally but living and fairly settled in Suffolk for some time now. Up until recently I owned and ran a property management company, with my ex- partner Liam. And that’s where the story starts I guess. Liam and I used to be partners in every sense, till our relationship ended. It was a bit of a blow to be honest. It would be strange if it wasn’t after being together nine years. But it was also that I hadn’t really known anything was wrong, we were comfortable together, he just wanted something more. The tricky part was I still had to see him all the time at work, neither of us wanted to leave the business. I imagine it’s a bit like if you have kids together. So it was all semi-amicable for the sake of the company, then a year on Liam decides to tell me he’s seeing someone else and wants to move. Suddenly feelings that I hadn’t known were brewing away all came clear. I realized I really didn’t want Liam back, I wanted my own life back. It was time to move on and focus on what I did want: to be with someone I wanted, who wanted me. There was only one man this could possibly be, Jax.

Are you happy with the way people perceive you?
* I think I worry a lot about how people see me, so I always try to create a good impression. Being a bit of an introvert I worry that people think I’m too quiet or boring. At the end of the day I’m happy with myself though and that’s what matters.

Is humor important? Why or why not?
* Humor is so important, that’s something I’ve recently discovered, because the more you can laugh with people the happier you feel, it’s that simple.

Does your author ever try to take over the story? And how do you deal with it?
* My author likes to think they’re me, which is great when we connect over shared experiences and stuff, but sometimes I have to shout out and say “Look I’m not you, I wouldn’t do that. This is my story, so that’s not going to happen. Let me have my say, my way.” Even so…

What was the best sexual experience you’ve had?
* I’m grinning here, because the number of great sexual experiences I’ve had keeps growing since getting together with Jax. This week we went night paintballing. Not the most romantic activity you might think, especially when you’re wearing overalls, sloshing through mud and getting shot at, but when you’re laying low in a bunker, out of sight, and your boyfriend steals in behind you and presses you further to the ground with the weight of his body, his erection rubbing insistently against your buttocks it’s a whole different story. Luckily not one where we got caught!

If you were to spend a day with a reader, what would you two do together?
* Paintballing? Just kidding! I’d probably be quizzing them, because since Liam and I sold the business I’ve taken up writing. Just so they didn’t notice I’d take them wherever they liked, fancy restaurant maybe.

Where do you see yourself in the future? What do you hope to accomplish?
* Being Happy.
* With Jax!
* Bit more travel.
* It’d also be nice to be able to make some money as writer, although I’ll continue to enjoy the creative outlet regardless.
* Something that changes the world for the better, I just haven’t worked out what yet.

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Hello everyone! The first thing to say is I’m so excited to be here. This is all very new for me; I’m normally at the day job. Helping to create positive change is really important to me so as well as getting involved in lots of community projects I work in Charity Management. When I’m not at work I’m often being a princess, pirate, monster or whatever takes my four year olds fancy.

What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
* My first book Duty to Love, a regency ménage, is stand alone, but I enjoyed writing it so much I’ve started another set in a similar period.

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
* I’m a huge Jane Austen fan - when I was younger I named my dog Darcy - so writing a regency romance really appealed. I also love ménage, as I enjoy reading a man’s point of view and feeling the depth of his emotion, with two men there is all the more of this. The story itself came from the question I posed myself of how might a happily ever after ménage actually come about during regency times. When I first started thinking about this story it was important to me that it be well crafted and convincing: a regency ménage that doesn’t require a complete suspension of belief. I hope I’ve succeeded.

Describe the hero in five words.
* Noble, dominant, caring of others.

Describe the heroine in five words.
* Innocent, passionate, all natural woman.

If ménage/multiple partners, then pick a third hero or heroine to describe in five words.
* Second Hero ~ Impetuous, dashing, and very endearing.

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* That’s really hard to say, the three central characters are so closely bound together. At a push I’d say Arthur as he is the lead hero and it is his honourable intentions and giving nature that allows love to grow between the three. I admire Arthur, but have a soft spot for James.

What's your favorite line in the story?
* The one I most enjoyed writing was when James said this to Arthur: “I would be in agony. I am already in agony. If I thought I could kill you I would call you out. If I thought I could hurt you the first you would have seen of me would have been my fist.”
