A Look At Ravage from 'The Alpha Gladiator' @BethDCarter @evernightpub #erotic #SciFi

Today we have Ravage visiting from the story The Alpha Gladiator (Warriors of the Arena). Welcome!

Is expressing love difficult for you? Why?
* I firmly believe a good Alpha is ruled by the love for his people. And when it comes to my mate, Aleirah, I’ve known she was to mine from an early age. But that comes with the knowledge that I’ll do anything to protect those that I love.

What’s your take on Felix Crispus?
* Felix is the lanista of the gladiator house I was taken to. He is a pompous little man who need chains to protect himself. Fighting one on one I would decimate him. But his money hires the raiders and the arrogant fools of Kappuah have elevated him into the upper echelon of society. I must find a way to use his influence to keep my people safe.

Where do you see yourself in the future? What do you hope to accomplish?
* The raiders of Sennex Prime was able to attack and capture us at our most vulnerable time. My people value tradition, but now I’m going to have to rethink tradition versus safety. We can never be careless again.

Now for some author information!
* My author is Beth D. Carter. Beth D. Carter says ~ I like writing about the very ordinary girl thrust into extraordinary circumstances, so my heroines will probably never be lawyers, doctors or corporate highrollers. I try to write characters who aren't cookie cutters and push myself to write complicated situations that I have no idea how to resolve, forcing me to think outside the box. I love writing characters who are real, complex and full of flaws, heroes and heroines who find redemption through love.
* I’ve been pretty fortunate in life to experience some amazing things. I’ve lived in France, travelled throughout Europe, Australia and New Zealand. I am a mom to an amazing little boy. I’ve walked a red carpet event and visited the USS Voyager. I hate washing dishes but I love cooking. I hate washing clothes but I love wearing them. Writing my bio is difficult because I never know what to say so I hope you like this one. My favorite color is red but I look best in black (it’s slimming). I hate people who don't pick up their dog's crap in public places, people who don’t use turn signals, and I really hate people who are rude and condescending. I especially hate discrimination in all and every form. And although I love holding a book in my hand, I absolutely adore my ereader, whom I’ve named Ruby. I love to hear from readers so I’ve made it really easy to find me on the web.

~ Blurb ~
* Ravage is the fierce Alpha of his people, the Lycans. During the mating celebration, while their guards are down, his people are attacked and twelve are captured for the gladiator games of Kappuah, including Aleirah, the woman Ravage wants above all others.
* He tries to resist, but he’s unwilling to see his men and his female harmed by the ruthless tyrants of the games. He must make the ultimate sacrifice of taking lives if he’s to protect his people.
* But there is one secret no one knows, and Ravage is more than willing to show how some myths are based in truth, by letting his inner wolf come out to destroy all those who enslaved them.
~ Excerpt ~
* Across the way on the other side of the bonfire, Aleirah strolled along, keeping an eye on people. Her long dark hair caught the glow from the bonfire and swung with a blue gleam. His cock hardened with interest. He wanted Aleirah, but so far, she had rejected all his attempts at courting. He had known his whole life that Aleirah was destined to be his, just as he had known from a tender age that he would someday be Alpha. It was an innate awareness beyond comprehension, a primitive call to be leader. Alphas were bigger, tougher, and more dominant than other Lycans and once he had reached maturity, his body had finally caught up with the power he’d been born with, filling out with muscle and strength. Ravage had risen quickly through the military ranks until the old Alpha recognized who Ravage was meant to be. Then he declared they fight in the Dominance Battle, although Ravage had been reluctant to fight someone so old. Still, it was the only way to become Alpha, so he’d fought and won. It had been the last time he killed a man.

Looking at Cassandra James from 'Developing Cassandra' @TameriEtherton #humorous #erotica

Today we have Cassandra James visiting from the story Developing Cassandra. Welcome!

Cassandra James, what would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I’m from a little town in Kansas I’m sure you’ve never heard of, but now I live in Los Angeles. I’ve been here three years and love it. Especially my job. I’m an assistant for one of the finest erotic photographers in the world. He really knows his stuff, which can be a problem sometimes…

Is expressing love difficult for you?
* Expressing love difficult? Naw, why would you ask that? Oh wait, have you been talking to my ex? What did he tell you? I’m not a cold bitch like he thinks, I just needed something else, something he couldn’t give me. I’m not even sure what I need, but I have an idea and it isn’t what anyone would expect from me.

If you could pull your author into your world, what do you think would happen to them?
* Seriously? She’d be asking questions and poking her nose into everyone’s lives. I’m pretty sure she’d convince Stephan and Luca to—oh crap, don’t ever let her in my world, okay? It would be best for everyone.

What was the best sexual experience you’ve had?
* Mmmm, my first Christmas with Luca. He gave me one hell of a present. Oh, and then there was that time in Didier’s playroom when he did this thing with his red riding crop. Yeah, that was nice. So very nice.

What was the least interesting thing that has ever happened to you? (In bed or out.)
* Tenth grade. All of it.

If you were to spend a day with a reader, what would you two do together?
* Well, first I’d take them to the beach to just chill. Then we’d go shopping because LA has some of the best boutiques in the world. Afterward, we’d head to Didier’s studio for a salon shoot. If he or she had any energy at the end of the day, we’d go to a club.

Where do you see yourself in the future? What do you hope to accomplish?
* Oh crap. I hate these questions. I want to be working for myself, traveling the world, and having radically hot sex with Luca. Not necessarily in that order.

Now for some author information!
* My author is Tameri Tiara. Tameri Tiara spends her days creating worlds where love is love no matter size, coloring, or sexual attraction. She believes love is something to be celebrated everyday. Currently, she makes her home in Southern California with her husband, three fish, two dogs, and a finicky cat. An adventurer at heart, Tameri has been known to fly to foreign lands at a moment’s notice, but has never been base jumping.
* (Note: At the time of this interview my author was in the process of changing her pen name from Niki Hart to Tameri Tiara, so if you see the name Niki, don't panic. She's actually Tameri Tiara. :) )

The camera never lies…
* When it comes to sex, Cassandra James is about as exciting as dryer lint. Until one night when her boss, a famed erotic photographer, invites her into the scene. Her world explodes with new desires, hidden fantasies, and an insatiable need to experience all she can. Including the wicked crops and crosses in her boss’s playroom.
* The only thing keeping Cassie from truly committing to this new lifestyle is the gorgeous model who lives across the hall. But a guy like him would never understand the wants of a woman like her…
* Luciano De Moreno is more than just an international model. Once the premiere stud in one of Hollywood’s top producer’s stable, he craves more from life than being someone’s pony. What he desires just happens to live across the hall. But there’s no way a good girl like Cassie could ever love a man like him. A man with a sordid past and a penchant for crops and floggers.
* Just when it looks like he might have a chance, their future is threatened by a power player from Luca’s distant past. It will take a daring choice, but Luca is determined to be free from his blackmailer.
* First, he must confess his sins to Cassandra.
~ Excerpt ~
* She tried not to notice his muscled abs or well-defined arms. Or his bare chest and long legs. Silky basketball shorts hung dangerously from his hips. Just one tug would have them off in a moment. Flustered at the thought, she stared at his bare feet, which weren’t in the least bit sexy.
* At the second floor landing, he held out his hand to her. “I’m Luciano. My friends call me Luca.”
* She took his hand in hers, delighting in the warmth and strength of it. “I’m Cassandra. My friends call me Cassie.”
* “Cassandra. Very beautiful name.” His hand held hers and he leaned in to whisper, “And woman.”
* A player. Just her luck the hot new neighbor would be a player. She moved in front of him, releasing his grip on her hand. It felt cold and empty. “Thanks.”
* “You don’t sound sincere in your gratitude.” His perfect lips edged toward the ground in a little boy pout.
* She mocked surprise. “I don’t? Oh gee whiz, I’m sorry.” She flashed him a knowing grin. “Look, I’ve lived in this city long enough to know I’m not one of the beautiful people. Usually when guys hit on me, they just want one thing. After they get it, they’re on to the next ‘beautiful woman’ they see. Why don’t I save us both the time and trouble and let you know, I’m not interested.”
* Where the hell did that come from? Of course she was interested. Wasn’t this the same guy who was starring in her fantasies every night?

Looking at character Taryn Rose Galendrin from 'The Temple of Ardyn' @TameriEtherton #Epic #Fantasy

Today we have Taryn Rose Galendrin visiting from all the books in the series The Song of the Swords. Welcome!

Taryn Rose Galendrin, what would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Well, that’s kind of difficult to answer. I thought I was from Earth, but recently discovered I was born on another planet, one far from Earth and vastly different in almost every way. It’s beautiful and dangerous and shimmering with an ancient power.

Are you happy with the way people perceive you?
* Yes and no. People on Aelinae fear me because they’ve been told I’ll destroy their world, but what they don’t understand is I’m trying to protect them. I’ll admit, I don’t make a habit of announcing my intentions. A little fear goes a long way when sussing out your enemies.

Is humor important? Why or why not?
* If I couldn’t laugh at myself, or some of the ridiculous situations I find myself, I’d probably lose my mind. Have you met my family? They seriously need counseling.

If you were taken out of the story and placed into your author’s world, what would be the first thing you’d do?
* I’d get a cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate shake. Or maybe some proper fish and chips. Oh! Pizza. Yes, I’d have a pizza with the works.

If you could pull your author into your world, what do you think would happen to them?
* Tameri on Aelinae? Ha! I’d spend all my time keeping her out of mischief. She’d be enthralled with every little thing. And we’d definitely have to keep an eye on the crown jewels. That woman has a thing for tiaras. One look at my star crown and she’d be a goner.

If you could time travel and/or live anywhere in the world, where would you go and/or where would that be?
* A year ago I would’ve said I’d time travel back to the day before my grandfather died, but now? Now I don’t want to be anywhere or in any other time than where I am. My life is difficult, but has purpose. Plus, there’s Rhoane to consider. That man wouldn’t know what to do with himself if I weren’t here. I tend to make his life interesting. Not always in a good way, but that’s what keeps it fun, you know?

Now for some author information!
* My author is Tameri Etherton. Rocker of sparkly tiaras, friend of dragons, and lover of all things sexy, Tameri Etherton leaves a trail of glitter in her wake as she creates and conquers new worlds and the villains who inhabit them. When not masquerading as a mom and writer, rumor has it she travels to far off places, drinking tea and finding inspiration for her kickass heroines—and the rogues who steal their hearts—with her own Prince Charming by her side.

It’s hard to save a world when your family is out to kill you…
* Taryn banished the phantom, but someone, or something, is invading her thoughts. To escape the torture and bring balance to Aelinae, Taryn must do the one thing she fears most—unlock her Dark powers.
* Rhoane swore an oath to protect Taryn, forsaking all others to keep her from harm, yet her independent spirit and lack of trust almost cost her life. Now, he’ll do what it takes to save the woman he loves from the Blackness growing inside her.
* But there’s evil in this world, and it’s just as desperate for them to fail.
(Author note: The Temple of Ardyn is the second book in the Song of the Swords epic fantasy series about honor, family, and love—of what it takes to become someone you never thought you’d be and to find the strength to face your inner demons.)
~ Excerpt ~
* “You have not been dismissed.” Lliandra stood to block Taryn’s path and the two women glared at each other in a stalemate. Lliandra’s power swirled with a constrained vengeance, slipping around Taryn’s body.
* She waited until her mother’s Mari wrapped her fully and a look of triumph clouded her mother’s eyes. The blue threads tightened about her, clammy and smelling of rot. Taryn blew gently on the strands and they crumpled into blackened snarls and fell to the floor.
* Lliandra gasped in horror at the sight of her power, visible and defeated at her feet. “How?” She choked. “How is this possible?”
* “You told me yourself, I am the Eirielle. Within me is the trinity of power, but that’s not all I possess. The phantom touched my soul with his Black ShantiMari. Perhaps if you were young and robust, your skills would be enough to overpower me, but your fade weakens you, Mother.”
* She scooped up the pile of ash and blew it into the air, where it became glittering motes of dust. “You really should control your anger. It isn’t becoming for an empress to be so disrespectful of her gifts.” With that, she pivoted on her heel and strode across the sitting room. When she reached the wall of crystal, she stopped.
* Lliandra stood in the doorway of the dining room, eyes wide with disbelief.
* “Never again use your ShantiMari against me. Are we agreed?” Lliandra gave the slightest of nods and Taryn swept from the rooms, her legs trembling beneath her full skirt.
* Her mother also had highly underestimated her.

A Look at Kailiri Summers from 'The Dark Places' @DorisDmartin @evernightpub #SciFi

Today we have Kailiri Summers, the main character and narrator, visiting from the story The Dark Places. Welcome!

Kailiri Summers, what would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I came from a mining colony on Dearleth. It’s not the type of place that would make anyone teary and nostalgic after escaping from that frozen desolation either. I’m an artist and writer at heart, but my talents haven’t paid any bills to date, so I became a junior assistant librarian at our settlement’s library and all was well. That was until I had to leave because my parents were conspiring with some isolated miner that I’d never met in a clandestine arrangement to marry me off.
* My family—like most of the colonists there—came from traditionalistic, insular Old Terran cultures and the practice of arranged marriages was alive and well on my birth planet. There wasn’t any place else to run on Dearleth except off it. And that’s exactly what I did: I took my meager job savings, a few possessions, and escaped on a passenger spaceliner to Harnaru. That’s where I ended up working as a bartender near the local space port—and praying my family didn’t want to spend money tracking me down and dragging me back to honor a marriage contract I’d never made nor agreed to.

Does your author ever try to take over the story? And how do you deal with it?
* Yes. She thought my story was a straightforward modern fairy tale wherein all my problems would end when I recognized I’d found my handsome prince. But he possessed some mysteries I had to solve first. I had to make my author understand by refusing to cooperate until she allowed me to search into Matt’s background before I left Harnaru with him. My author hadn’t realized how much mystery he had hidden inside him either until then. Then she backed off with the script orchestrations and started letting me tell my story.

What was the best sexual experience you’ve had?
* My wedding night with Matt—if you can call getting bespelled into marrying someone immediately after kissing them for the first time a wedding! But what a night! There might be something in his insistence that I was his soul mate. I’d never felt so bound and connected to a man before Matt. In truth—after escaping an arranged marriage, I never thought I’d ever enter a marriage contract after fighting for my independence and freedom from the old customs on Dearleth.

What’s your take on Matt Lorins?
* What an attractive male specimen! And his mannerisms are so smooth, steady, and unflappable. He has the beguiling tongue of a poet, but he’s resourceful and capable. I think he can handle anything thrown at him in his own quiet way. That quiet manner of his is deceptive, because after you spend a little time in his company, you soon realize that he’s not someone you’d want to have as an enemy. And did I mention that an aura of prosperity and success surrounds him—like he’s a winner? When I first met him, I thought he was just one of my Real Quiet bar customers and that he was only passing through during a ship stopover at the port.
* A portside bar attracts a lot of troubled spacers, but something about Matt—despite all the brain-numbing stuff that I was serving him—seemed to cast a deep sadness over him. It drew me to him and I wanted to reach out and lift it from him. An after work dinner with him became something else entirely. I never dreamed that Matt Lorins and his mysterious past would become my destiny.

Now for some author information!
* My author is D. Martin. D. Martin likes science and finding out how things work. She was one of those annoying kids, who drove her mom and teachers nuts with continual questions of “Why?” Her career as science researcher gave her the opportunity to play in labs and create some pretty neat stuff—and maybe advance technology a little.
* She believes a person can never have too many books. She reads everything, but is fond of science fiction, fantasy, and romance. World cultures fascinate her. She loves science fiction movies and once wanted to be an astronomer to find out what’s ‘out there’. She lives in the Midwest with her husband and daughter, who are both very understanding when she’s off the planet writing.

~Editor's Pick~
* Kailiri Summers narrowly escaped an arranged marriage by fleeing to another planet. She has artistic ambitions, but life isn’t cooperating. Bartending seemed like a good option to stay afloat. She thought her future bleak until Matt Lorins walked into her bar.
* One dinner with the charming and wealthy space trader binds her into a passionate marriage bargain. But he’s a man surrounded by mysteries that she can’t unravel. It's while she's traveling alone with him on his star ship, isolated far beyond all help, that he reveals a terrifying secret. She must choose between battling the darkness—or losing Matt forever.
~ Excerpt ~
* “You’re not from around here.”
* It was more of a statement than question….
* I grabbed a towel and busied myself with ambitious swipes at condensation that the flimsy napkin coasters provided under the patrons’ drinks hadn’t absorbed. I figured if I kept quiet, he’d go back to his blue study. I had no desire whatsoever to talk about my aspirations and heartaches.
* He took the hint and became quiet again for the next half hour or so. In the last half-hour stretch remaining in my shift, however, he fixed an intent stare on me and spoke. “Would you care for dinner at a Sauran restaurant?”
* No disarming preamble about my looks or charms—or other opening gambits most men resorted to before a meal invitation. Just that dead serious, quiet voice and an intense stare fastened upon me.
* I stared into the green-gold glitter points swimming in those black eyes as I considered the offer. I didn’t accept patron invitations. A lot of unwary—and also very wary—barmaids on Harnaru ended up missing or horribly abused in the aftermath of dinner-after-work offers if their companions turned out to be nut cases….
* A lot of girls end up with some pretty exciting romantic stuff to hang in their memories, to shake out and smile over whenever life gets grim, desolate, and plain unkind….
* My Real Quiet One unwaveringly met my questing stare….
* Then I, Kailiri Summers, made up my mind to sample a little indulgence. Life had been pretty grim, desolate, and unkind as of late—and he seemed to be the strong, steady-going type… I continued studying his relaxed expression and peering into his fireworks eyes.
* I nodded slow acceptance. “A Sauran restaurant it is.”
* He smiled and indicated his empty glasses needed refilling.

A Look At Darci Diamond from 'Diamond Moon' @celiabreslin @decadentpub #shifter #romance

Today we have Darci Diamond visiting from the story Diamond Moon. Welcome!

Darci Diamond, what would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Hi, I’m Darci Diamond, human-wolf hybrid. I’m 25 and fresh out of grad school, with a degree in Computer Science. I was born and raised in Ashland, Oregon. My parents died when I was little so I lived with my human aunt. It was hard living among humans and having to keep my true identity a secret. Shifting is a problem for me, so I came to Los Lobos, in the Black Hills of South Dakota, to get some help with it. If I don’t find help soon, my next shift might kill me…

Are you happy with the way people perceive you?
* Yes and no. In Ashland, my circle of friends was quite small. It’s hard to make deep connections when you’re keeping this huge secret. I felt like an isolated superhero most of the time, but without the fun powers. That said, I was well liked by my teachers and fellow students – I worked hard and treated everyone with respect. In Los Lobos, it’s a mixed bag. I’m half human and some Wolves can’t see past that to get to know me.

Is humor important?
* God, yes! Life is messy. And for me, I mean that figuratively and literally. I’ll spare you the gory details of my shifts… Laughter lightens the load, ya know?

If you were taken out of the story and placed into your author’s world, what would be the first thing you’d do?
* Get coffee! My author Celia lives in San Francisco, and I love Four Barrel Coffee in the Mission District. It’s nuclear powered goodness served up in a sweet little cafĂ© with friendly service and easy going customers. Great, now I’m totally in need of a cappuccino and one of their bacon maple donuts…yum!

If you could pull your author into your world, what do you think would happen to them?
* Ha, Celia’s a bit of a city girl, but I bet she would love it here, anyway. I have wi-fi so she would feel connected to the outside world. Plus, she grew up in the land of wicked cool thunderstorms, so I know she’d love storm season here. Though on super hot and sunny summer days, she’d probably hide inside until sunset. Sometimes, I think she’s part vampire.

What was the best sexual experience you’ve had?
* Ross. Enough said. :-)

If you could time travel and/or live anywhere in the world, where would you go and/or where would that be?
* Oh, time travel… Well, I’d go back to the day my parents died and stop them from getting on that damn plane. But, wait, if I did that then I would never have gone to South Dakota, never met Ross, and who knows what else might change in the world for better or worse, so maybe I shouldn’t play God… This is the easier part of your question: if I could live anywhere in the world, I would pick wherever Ross is. I love the woods, and so does he, so Los Lobos suits us just fine.

Now for some author information!
* My author is Celia Breslin. Celia lives in California with her husband, daughter, and two feisty cats. She writes urban fantasy and paranormal romance, and has a particular fondness for werewolves, vampires, and the Fae. Her award-winning vampire series - The Tranquilli Bloodline - is available from Champagne Books. Diamond Moon is her first werewolf story for Decadent Publishing’s Black Hills Wolves shifter line.
* When not writing, you’ll find Celia exercising, reading a good book, hanging with her family, or indulging her addiction to Joss Whedon’s TV shows and movies.

* Human-wolf hybrid Darci Diamond spends every full moon locked in auntie’s basement in Southern Oregon. Her excruciating shifts terrify her, the last one causing her heart to stop beating. Seeking a cure, she journeys to Los Lobos.
* Ross Luparell returns to the struggling Tao pack, using his millions made in the tech industry to build homes for pack families in need. He never imagined he would also find his one true mate. But when a hybrid with the biggest green eyes he’s ever seen lands on his doorstep in the middle of a wicked summer storm, there’s no denying it. She’s the one.
* She wants a normal human life, free from pain-filled shifts. He won’t give up on her Wolf, and will do whatever it takes to help her accept her true nature. But can he convince her to trust him with her heart?
~ Excerpt ~
* Darci hurried along the gravel edging the worn pavement masquerading as a road leading into Los Lobos, population unknown, exact location not even listed on her Rand McNally map. Her boots kicked up enough dust in the growing wind to make her sneeze, even as the hairs on her nape rose from the incessant sensation of being watched.
* For the millionth time since she’d abandoned her little VW Beetle a few miles back—where the road devolved into a post-apocalyptic joke of a highway—she palmed the pink SABRE mini taser in her jacket pocket, comforted by the hard plastic deliverance of doom her aunt had insisted she take with her on her journey to the middle of nowhere.
* Rolling hills, rocky cliffs peeking out from the densely packed pine trees, meadows encouraging a Sound of Music gallop with arms stretched wide. America’s Heartland. Beautiful and remote Black Hills, South Dakota. Too bad the pretty place had goose bumps tracking up her arms and chills scurrying down her spine.
* The wind kicked up, and she grabbed the bill of her baseball cap, holding tight. If those cranky black clouds started spitting rain, she’d need this little protection. She hadn’t packed an umbrella. Rain rarely happened at home this time of the year. Too bad she’d neglected to Google the weather for South Dakota in June. Judging from the swirling cloud cover, a world of oh, hell no might unleash on her head before she managed to make it to town.
* If the town really existed.

A Look At Ares from 'Bleeding Love' @BethDCarter @evernightpub #erotic #futuristic

Today we have Ares visiting from the story Bleeding Love. Welcome!

Ares, what would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I was a cop. Damn good one, too. Had a great family. Great life. Until the Overlords showed up. One day, everything I had was gone. I almost lost my life to them but when I opened my eyes in the hospital, and realized I was still alive, I made it my vow to destroy the assholes who stole everything from me. So I tracked them and finally found them in a place called Paradise. Now that I’m this close I will have my reckoning.

Are you happy with the way people perceive you?
* Honestly, I don’t give a shit how I’m perceived. My mother and sister were raped and murdered. That changes a man on a fundamental level and their ghosts demand justice. If I have to bash in a few heads then so be it. You can either applaud me for making a difference or you can condemn me, but at least people will be safer once the cancerous Overlords are destroyed.

Is expressing love difficult for you? Why?
* Love. My brother and sister were married to some wonderful people. But love made them weak and now they’re just a memory. I can’t let that happen to me. There’s nothing left but my drive for vengeance and I can’t be distracted by love. Faith is…a complication I wasn’t expecting.

Does your author ever try to take over the story? And how do you deal with it?
* She tried. She thought it might be a good idea to make me a leader of this biker clan hunting the Overlords but I was like Hell no! I’m not a leader type. I may be the type of man who gets the job done, but I hunt alone.

If you were taken out of the story and placed into your author’s world, what would be the first thing you’d do?
* I don’t know…be confused? My world is tough. Unforgiving. It’s killed or be killed. Suburbia and white picket fences are forgotten concepts, so I wouldn’t know what to do without a blaster in my hand.

If you could pull your author into your world, what do you think would happen to them?
* I think she’s a pretty strong woman. I don’t think she’d have much trouble adapting, but she’d have to learn how to fight, and sometimes fight dirty.

What was the best sexual experience you’ve had?
* This may sound clichĂ©d as hell, but sinking into Faith’s tight little body was euphoric. I lost control and I’ve never done that before.

What was the least interesting thing that has ever happened to you? (In bed or out.)
* My life before the Overlords was ordinary. I lived near my parents and siblings, so there was always dinner over some family member’s house. It wasn’t very interesting, but looking back now, it was some of the best times of my life.

What’s your take on Faith?
* NaĂŻve. Idealistic. She grew up in a convent, so she has no idea the sadistic things men can do to innocents like her. She infuriates me with her religious nonsense. Still…she’s far stronger than I ever gave her credit for, and for that, I respect her.

If you were to spend a day with a reader, what would you two do together?
* Go to the gun range. Seriously, World War Three is coming and y’all need to learn to survive. I’ll teach any reader how to aim, fire, and clean a blaster.

Where do you see yourself in the future? What do you hope to accomplish?
* I see myself in a world free of the Overlords. If it’s the last thing I do, I will punish those responsible for the deaths of my family. And…I see Faith by my side. Somehow, she’s wheedled herself under my skin. Other than that, not sure where we’ll end up. If I survive, that is.

If you could time travel and/or live anywhere in the world, where would you go and/or where would that be?
* It would be wherever Faith was. I can’t live in a world without her.

Now for some author information!
* My author is Beth D. Carter. This is what Beth has to say...
* I like writing about the very ordinary girl thrust into extraordinary circumstances, so my heroines will probably never be lawyers, doctors or corporate highrollers.

A look into the story

* In the year 2112 and civilization is in ruins. The world has fallen from war. People live in designated cities.
* Ares has one mission: to destroy the Overlords, the men who killed his family. To accomplish this, he is ruthless. Unforgiving.
* Faith has grown up in a convent. She's heard what the world is like, but now she'll experience it first hand. Saved by Ares, he will demand her utter submission as payment.
~ Excerpt ~
* At the top of the landing, he halted and turned to face her. Faith’s heart once again pounded at the heat in his dark gaze. He traveled his hands around to her behind, gripping her cheeks until he picked her up. “Wrap those pretty legs around my waist.”
* She did as he asked, although she didn’t know why she was so compliant with his demands. He walked with her through the hallway to their room. She didn’t even notice the dĂ©cor as she stared into his eyes, which were no longer cold and unfeeling. Instead, he looked at her with a sharp hunger. A call deep inside her body answered, rocking her soul. What was happening to her?
* They entered a bedroom and he kicked the door shut behind him. He sat down on the edge of the bed with her still wrapped around him. Ares curled his hand into her hair and pulled her head back so he could lick up her neck.
* “For the next five days, this is our room,” he said in a deep voice. “I don’t want you to leave here. You bathe, and you make yourself pretty for me, and when I come back after my business, you and I will finish this little dance. You understand me, Faith?”
* Dazed, she nodded.
* He claimed her mouth again, once again making all her thoughts disappear. All she could do was hold on to the rush as he plundered her mouth with his tongue. Tingles sparked through her. She was so close to something monumental, but before she could even begin to explore it, he pulled back. Gently he stood back up, holding her like she weighed nothing, and laid her down on the mattress. He smoothed out her hair until it fanned around her head.
* “You’re mine, Faith,” he said thickly. “I’m your protector now, which means my cock is the only cock you’ll know. Any other man touches you, and I’ll kill him. If someone tries to help you escape, I’ll string him up by his balls. I may be a bastard, but I won’t hurt you unless you try to leave, touch another man, or put yourself in danger. Then I’ll spank that gorgeous ass of yours until you can’t sit for a week. Do you understand?”
* Mutely, she nodded.

A Look At April Patterson from 'Elysium' @TheaLanden @decadentpub #1NS #1NightStand #scifi

Today we have April Patterson visiting from the story Elysium. Welcome!

April Patterson, what would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I’ve lived in Connecticut my entire life, though I just recently moved from Bridgeport to West Hartford. Working at Elysium is definitely far more rewarding than my old job at a sandwich shop! I never would have imagined myself living here and working at this kind of job, but then again, for the past two years, I didn’t really envision any sort of future for myself. Though I’ll never forget the past, as it’s shaped who I am and brought me to where I am today, I’m grateful for the fresh start.

Are you happy with the way people perceive you?
* I don’t like anyone to see me as a victim (even though I kind of am, though I’ve been working hard to move forward). I want people to understand my background so they know where I’m coming from, but at the same time, I don’t want their sympathy or pity. Especially pity. I hate that.

Is expressing love difficult for you?
* I’ve never really been an open person with any of my emotions; I have a tendency to keep things to myself. However, there are times where I just feel so strongly, I can’t help but take a risk and tell someone how I much I care for them.

If you were to spend a day with a reader, what would you two do together?
* Stay away from work, that’s for sure! Elysium is one of those strange companies where while we want to stay in business, of course, we feel bad for those who use our services. I’d hope that whoever came to visit wouldn’t be in need of what we offer, so we could go do something fun instead, like eat lunch at one of the quirky restaurants in town.

Where do you see yourself in the future? What do you hope to accomplish?
* I definitely want to finish up my degree. Maybe one day I’ll go on to grad school, but for now, I just want to counsel clients at Elysium as best I can and help them move on in their lives.

* Thea Landen lives in New York with her husband and a variety of houseplants. A former educator, she strives to encourage creativity and passion in all those around her, and uses writing to help inspire. Though she reads and writes in nearly all genres, she has a special fondness for science fiction, fantasy, and adventure and anything that pushes the imagination beyond its usual limits. When she’s not writing, or thinking about writing, her hands and mind are occupied by either yarn crafts or role-playing games.

* Two years have passed since April Patterson’s husband was shot and killed in the line of duty, and she’s trapped in a haze of grief and uncertainty. Having grown frustrated by all other efforts to engage her in activities where she could meet new people, her cousin pays for a date via 1Night Stand. Not thrilled with the idea, April nevertheless contacts Madame Eve and requests the impossible: a date with her deceased husband.
* Brilliant software engineer Drew Monroe created his company, Elysium, to help give closure to those who have suffered the loss of a loved one, through the use of virtual reality. Though passionate about his work, being constantly surrounded by heartache and death has taken a toll on his mental health. When he accepts the case of a young widow referred to him by Madame Eve, her tragic tale depresses him further, but he commits himself to programming April the romantic date she desires.
* April arrives at Elysium and prepares to enter Drew’s virtual realm. Will she find the solace she seeks within? Or will she discover she doesn’t need a fantasy world to discover happiness again?
~ Excerpt ~
* A likeness of April appeared on one of the monitors. For that singular moment, she was mine, the starring character in the show I’d engineered. She explored the world I’d crafted just for her, and a sense of accomplishment melted my heart when she ran her fingers over the grass and smiled. It helped dull the cruelty of the situation, that the woman Madame Eve delivered right to Elysium’s doorstep hadn’t come for me.
* I could have sat there and watched her play in this fictional universe for hours. As it stood, I tried not to think about how soft her hair had felt when I helped put the headset on her or the way her hand gripped mine as if she needed me. But I had a job to do, and it was time to accept this was not a date for us to share together and I had to take on my own role in the production.
* When I input the next commands, Kevin’s avatar joined her in the park. I made sure my own headset sat in place and adjusted the microphone properly. The software altered every word I spoke to come out in his voice, but I still tried to match his cadence and mannerisms. “Hey, kitten,” I said, using his pet name for her.
* I’d seen the same amazement that crossed April’s face a hundred times on previous clients’ faces. Shock, doubt, disbelief, and an overwhelming desire to believe what she saw, all clearly displayed as if I’d read written words. After the surprise wore off, something in her entire demeanor shifted. Her eyes lit up as she gazed upon him, and she reverted back to the woman I’d seen in the photographs. Another pang of envy stabbed through me. No one ever viewed me like that, especially not someone as enthralling as her.

A Look At Ryan Walsh from 'Susceptible to Him' @AuthorLynnBurke @evernightpub #characterinterview #romance

Today we have Ryan Walsh visiting from the story Susceptible to Him. Welcome!

Ryan Walsh, what would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I grew up a foster kid in Ohio, and once I finished up my college education, ditched my past for Boston. My buddy and I started up an online company, and once we made our fortunes, we sold out. Living a life of leisure, now, and loving it.

Are you happy with the way people perceive you?
* I really don’t give a shit how people perceive me. I’m comfortable with myself. That’s all that matters.

Is humor important?
* Humor is always good. Keeps us laughing and young at heart.

Does your author ever try to take over the story?
* Yeah, she tried giving me a buzz cut. Took her a while to realize I wouldn’t be caught dead with hair that short.

If you were taken out of the story and placed into your author’s world, what would be the first thing you’d do?
* Do what I’ve always done – get on some dating sites and meet some women.

If you could pull your author into your world, what do you think would happen to her?
* Since we both live in the Boston area in the 21st century, she’d probably just miss her kids and focus on getting back home.

What was the best sexual experience you’ve had?
* Shit. That’s one hell of a question. Truth – the first time I got my hands on Lia Risso and her lush curves.

What was the least interesting thing that has ever happened to you? (In bed or out.)
* In my teenage years, I dated this girl who didn’t know what a blow job was. She literally thought it was blowing air across my cock. Probably not the least interesting thing, but it sure was funny as hell.

What’s your take on ‘Papa’ Risso?
* Lia’s dad is super protective, a smart business man, and gifted his daughter with his temper. I’m not scared to meet him, and I doubt he’ll like my long hair, but as long as he doesn’t sway Lia’s thoughts about me, I could give a shit.

If you were to spend a day with a reader, what would you two do together?
* Gotta hit the gym first thing. Protein shake for breakfast, play a few rounds of golf, and go see the Sox or Bruins play. Grab some steak tips and beer before calling it a night.

Where do you see yourself in the future? What do you hope to accomplish?
* I’ll probably end up starting another company or two. While I have no need to work, I’ll probably grow bored eventually. I’ll take a world tour or two – if Lia’s with me. Other than that, I don’t have any goals other than enjoying every second of every day.

If you could time travel and/or live anywhere in the world, where would you go and/or where would that be?
* I love Boston, and while I’ve spent time in various countries, I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

* Lia Risso walked in on her fiancĂ© and three other women on Valentine’s Day. Two celibate years later, her roommate creates a profile for Lia on a dating website—without her knowledge—and sets up a date. On Valentine’s Day.
* Ryan Walsh, a self-made millionaire and libertine, refuses to commit to any one woman. Tossed from foster home to foster home as a child, Ryan is on guard against becoming vulnerable ever again.
* One dinner…one night of dancing and flirting with the attraction between them, puts both Lia and Ryan in danger of heart break.
* They have a choice—open themselves to the possibility of hurt or walk away, never knowing what might have been.
~ Excerpt ~
* My nerve endings stirred as the subtle scent of sandalwood wafted across the table time and again. What man used sandalwood-scented soap anymore? By the cut of his suit and the Rolex on his wrist, Ryan Walsh had money. And plenty of it. Why no expensive cologne? The chick-lure nectar of the gods his type bathed in?
* He grinned again, and heat filled the empty place only Mr. Pink had seen or stroked in two years. Ryan’s attention drifted to my lips and lingered as our waiter took his time pouring our wine.
* I forced myself to breathe as my treasonous nipples pebbled, begging for attention.
* Damnation. I do not want this.
* He was too friggin’ sexy for his own good. And by his suggestive grin and the twinkle in his eyes, he knew it too.
* “Are you ready to order, Lia?” Ryan asked, his focus staying on my face instead of dipping downward like most men’s did.
* Praying my voice didn’t betray my arousal, I turned my attention the waiter. “I’ll have the shrimp Fra Diavlo.”
* “And for you, sir?”
* Ryan spouted off a few words in Italian, never once breaking eye contact with me.
* My lips twitched. Papa would be impressed.
* When the waiter ambled away, a smile—a real smile, not the cocky, you-know-you-want-me ones he had offered until then—revealed straight, white teeth. “So.”
* His low voice caressed my ears, and I pressed my thighs together. Thank God I hadn’t shaved. No doubt he had little trouble getting women into his bed. Or their bed. Or against a wall.
* Holy shit.

An Interview with Charm from 'Charmed' @JaceyHolbrand @evernightpub #menage #sci-fi #futuristic

Today we have Charm visiting from the story Charmed. Welcome!

So Charm, what would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I'm an Earth female who'd been looking for a way to get off of the dying planet but not having much luck. I tried to get a job in the casinos a couple of times, but they turned me down, so I was still stuck working for an unethical trader who wanted to sell me off to a horrilbe alien. Being a smart, sassy and innovative chick, I wasn't going to put up with that, so I left. That's when I literally dove into my men's lives and our story starts.

Did your author ever try to take over the story? If so, how did you deal with it?
* No. She was quite good letting us tell our tale, though there had to be some shifting around after it was accepted since it'd been written for a specific line and didn't fit that line. But that's okay. It came out more splendid in the end than it had been.

What was the best sexual experience you’ve had?
* It's a tie between having sex behind the waterfall and having sex during the commitment ceremony.

If you could time travel and/or live anywhere in the world, where would you go and/or where would that be?
* Once upon a time, I would have said I'd go anywhere as long as it got me off Earth. Now? I don't want to go anywhere. I'm quite happy where I am with my new family.

Now for some author information!
* My author is Jacey Holbrand. Jacey believes love comes in all forms and should be celebrated. She’s committed to her muse and writing so she can share those kinds of stories with readers.
* Hot days. Sexy nights. Come play in her world.
* Jacey loves to hear from readers! eMail her: JaceyHolbrand@gmail.com

* Charm knows how to get what she wants, but when faced with opposition, she tends to make bad choices. After a plan to subdue a Rullix goes wrong, Charm forces her way into two Auraths’ lives. They have a ship after all and can help her escape Earth and the Rullix.
* Step-brothers, Thorne and Wade, are discussing Earth and mates when Charm dives into their presence. Each man believes her to be the partner he’s been waiting for. The men allow her passage in their spaceship, but are shot down by the Rullix and crash in a canyon.
* Charm finds them sanctuary, yet even in the middle of nowhere, she still gets into trouble. Thorne and Wade have to figure out how to travel to Aurath before Charm’s bad choices lead to their demise.
~ Excerpt ~
* “Tell me again why we left the comforts of the room at the hotel and are here at this detestable little dive, breakfasting al fresco? Could we not have stayed with our ship while the mechanic tries to figure out what is wrong with it?”
* Thorne Tyril peered over the large sheet of paper that stated the news of the month for the city humans called Las Vegas. He’d bought it down at the hotel and casino on the Strip before they limped their ship to the mechanic’s warehouse. His stepbrother, Wade, narrowed a grey eyed gaze in his direction. Thorne smiled at his family member, refusing to accept Wade’s negativity. “For one, we are not engine mechanics. We are developers of ideas. We are warriors. As for why we are sitting here, it is near the repair shop that was recommended to us, and I was hungry.”
* “Hungry,” Wade scoffed. “You just wanted to observe the humans again. I do not understand your compulsion to learn about their cultures. Once we each find our mates, their pasts will not be of consequence. They will become Aurath.”
* “You are correct on all accounts. You forget, though, I told you before we left Aurath and again as we left Little Italy in New York. I have a feeling my mate and yours will appear. I am certain.”
* “You have said as much many times.” Wade flipped the hood of his brown cloak off his bald head, scratched a spot behind one of his pointy ears and then moved the hood to cover himself again. He smoothed his hand over the white, but sand covered table cloth. Brushing off his fingers, his brow furrowed. “Yet, here we are. Still mateless. Suffering in the infernal heat inside this valley’s fenced communal.” His gaze jerked away from Thorne’s as his nose scrunched. “Oh, good God. What now?”
