A Look At K. E. Shade & 'Muir Bhreatan' ~ @PamBitner @breathlesspress #pirates

Today we have author K. E. Shade visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* K. E. Shade is multi-published author Kastil Eavenshade in disguise pandering her romantic shenanigans. When not catering to the whims of three rescued kitties, she's dreaming up her next heart-beating tale. No period in history—past, present, or future—is safe from the clutches of her muse. Her passions beyond writing are drawing, cooking, and watching Pittsburgh Penguins hockey. She credits her parents for her free spirit as they've always supported her in every aspect of her life. Without them, she wouldn't be here. :D

What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
* Muir Bhreatan is a historical pirate tale based in and around Ireland. It is the first in what I hope will be a series.

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
* I love doing historical fiction and the base of the story surrounded two brothers but grew into something much more. Every ship has a berth and most men of the sea have a woman they call their own. The more I read on the 17th century, the more the story grew into a journey into getting back to that one lass that holds the heart of the hero.

Describe the hero in five words.
* Passionate, cunning, torn, determined, and PIRATE!

Describe the heroine in five words.
* Fiery, temptress, loyal, strong, and unwavering.

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* Daithi, the brother of the hero. It's his ultimate sacrifice that helps his brother return to his beloved Kaitlin.

What's your favorite line in the story?
* [Daithi] "I decided to take a more chivalrous road."
* "Oh aye?" Aedan chuckled. "Has it fallen off yet from yer chivalry then?"

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* Aedan O' Loinsigh's only love beyond the sea is his Kaitlin. Captured, he uses his knowledge of the seas to get back to his love.
* Liberators of gold from the British on the high seas, Aedan O' Loinsigh and his brother have never shied away from a challenge on the open waters. Aedan's only tie to solid ground is the lovely Kaitlin who possesses him like no other. When the brothers are captured and awaiting execution, a mysterious man offers to free them if they pay off their debt aboard his ship. The brothers waste no time in agreeing to the proposal only to find their new lives are not much better than those of slaves. Desperate to reach Kaitlin again, Aedan must figure out a way to save not only the other indentured servants aboard the ship but get back to his true love. Salvation could come at a price. One that Aedan will have to live with for the rest of his life.
~ Excerpt ~
* "Kaitlin." He warned. Her coy smile answered his cautioned tone. Any sense of reason he had fled along with his blood flow to his swelling manhood. Words would not form on his lips as she sank to her knees. His wily vixen tempted him to utter the one thing she craved to hear. He murmured her name and sent a silent prayer to his brother to forgive him for his weakness.
* The booming crash of waves startled Aedan from his desires. "No." He stumbled back. The disappointment shone in her face, and he turned away. "Does our relationship mean so little to ye that ye trick me with ye wiles?" He laced up his trousers.
* "Does ye rule on having women on board mean so much that ye leave me time and time again to wonder if I'll see ye again?" She stomped past, but he grabbed her arm and spun her around. His hands grasped her shoulders.
* "I care about keeping ye safe, Kaitlin." He shook her. "Barbary Corsairs. That is who owned the ship we sunk that all those not of my crew had the displeasure of meeting. If they ran, their feet were struck with a cane. If their stomachs ached, their bellies met with the cane as well. Yer a woman, Kaitlin. Those men had wives—daughters! All sold into slavery."
* She tore from his grasp. "I can take care of me own." Her words were bold, but Aedan caught the tremble in her limbs. She ran back toward the tavern.
* He watched her go, scrubbing his face. If he wanted her to do unnatural things to his crotch instead of the pleasantries she had started, running after her would do the trick. He walked along the beach until he reached the rowboat. The best course would be to sleep off the altercation in the calm of the water and hope Kaitlin came to her senses by morning.

A Look At Dianne Hartsock & 'The Dark Bokor' ( @diannehartsock @GoddessFish #zombies #erom #glbt )

Today we have author Dianne Hartsock visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I'm the author of m/m erotic romance, both contemporary and fantasy, the psychological thriller, and anything else that comes to mind. Oh, and a floral designer. If I can’t be writing, at least I have the chance to create with the beauty of flowers and bring a smile to someone’s face. Currently I live in the Willamette Valley of Oregon with my husband with both children attending college close to home.

What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
* I'd like to talk about THE DARK BOKOR today. It's not part of a series, but my publisher Breathless Press put out zombie stories for Halloween and this is part of the anthology of individually released books.

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
* I've always been fascinated by hoodoo magic and love reading suspenseful stories of its use in New Orleans. When Breathless Press put out the call for zombie stories I was like yay! Here's my chance. I knew that hoodoo bokors created zombies so I did my research and added them to create my romantic zombie thriller.

Describe the hero in five words.
* Matt: strong, stubborn, intelligent, big heart, integrity

Describe the other hero in five words.
* Jesse: passionate, powerful, honest, loyal and trustful

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* In the beginning Jesse was my favorite, but as the story went on, Matt became my hero. He's stubborn but willing to believe in Jesse despite his own views. He's a strong man but able to show his more passionate side to the man he loves. He's not afraid to put his life on the line for his friends.

What's your favorite line in the story?
* "You better come back," Matt said, voice thick.
* "I will. You stay alive. I'll always come back for you."

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
When it comes to the dark weavings of hoodoo magic, only a few can survive.
* It's started. Bodies have been found in the French Quarter, torn limb from limb. The undead have been seen walking. For Detective Matthew Rieves, this is the worst news he can imagine. Having spent his entire life in Orleans Parish, Matt's no stranger to the bizarre. Though, despite the growing evidence, he still has a hard time believing in the occult. But when two hoodoo bokors vie for supremacy, it's the innocent civilians that pay the price.
* For Jesse Dalembert, he'd left New Orleans to sever his ties with hoodoo. But when a friend is brutally murdered by the bokor's zombies, he returns, falling at once into danger and into Detective Rieves's bed. With their lives on the line, their simmering attraction flares into a passion they can no longer deny.
* Working against time, can the lovers find a way to stop the hoodoo war, or will they fall victim to the dark magic, maybe becoming zombies themselves?
~ Excerpt ~
* "Don't move."
* Jesse froze, heart pounding in the semidarkness, as an arm like a steel band clamped around his chest, holding him immobile against a hard body. A warm exhale fanned his neck, sending a not-unpleasant shiver through him. The man drew in a breath, nose nuzzled at his nape, and heat pooled instantly in Jesse's gut. Shit. Had it really been that long since he'd been in someone's arms?
* The cold voice in his ear thawed with a slight laugh. "At least you don't smell like them. That's something."
* Jesse's pulse leaped, and his gaze darted around the small office, searching the shadows. "Are they here?"
* "No." A hand tangled in his shirt, jerked him around to face his captor. "But I know your voice. Just who the fuck are you?"
* Jesse blinked at the dark gaze raking over his face. He couldn't see much in the faint light seeping through the closed window blinds. The man had strong features, classically handsome, with a twist of humor to the full lips that had Jesse moistening his own, though he'd have to stand on tiptoe to reach them.
* The man swore under his breath and hauled Jesse toward the windows. "Can't see a thing..."
* The blinds went up, and Jesse winced as yellow streetlight flooded the room and stung his eyes. He would have laughed at the man's yelp of surprise if disgust hadn't immediately swept the attractive face.

A Look At Michaela Rhua & 'Guardian Possession' ( @MichaelaRhua @breathlesspress #paranormal #erom )

Today we have author Michaela Rhua visiting. Welcome back!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Michaela Rhua always dreamed of writing but this never happened until she met the lovely group of ladies known as UCW. Their passion for writing and encouragement inspired her to see if she could do it too. Now she is multi published and loves writing!
* She has teenage children and a husband, who also keep her busy. However, it is whilst travelling into work that she has time to create her characters and imagine other places in which they exist as her world skims by the window. Conversations overheard often lead to the birth of new ideas that she scribbles down in her trusty notebook.

What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
* Guardian Possession is book 2 of the Guardian series. The first is Guardian Awakening, which starts the whole series off. Although book 2 is the next one in the series it is not imperative that you read book 1. Of course I would be delighted if readers chose to do so.

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
* As soon as Guardian Awakening was completed I knew this next book had to be written. As I started writing the story just emerged. So I just followed along really.

Describe the hero in five words.
* Zachriel is powerful, confused, strong, tormented and lost.

Describe the heroine in five words.
*Royanne is divided, feisty, sexy, determined and needy.

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* Zachriel for sure. The book started out about Royanne but as I wrote it, I soon discovered that is was more about Zachriel and his life and future.

What's your favorite line in the story?
* That's a hard one! Maybe….. Fire met ice.

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* Royanne longs to be free of everyone's expectations. Meeting a mysterious stranger who she is drawn to confuses her. He feeds her longing to be free and ignites a fire inside of her. She is aroused by this tortured soul. When he kidnaps her and reveals his plan, she is torn between loathing him and wanting him.
* Zachriel is under orders from the Dark Master—kidnap Guardian demon Royanne. Only hiding away until the coast is clear draws him closer to her, especially as she seems to see the real man in him.
* Rescued at last, Royanne feels uncertain what to do. For Zachriel his past is revealed and he must face the truth. This truth cuts to his very soul and questions who he really is. Now he must come to terms with the lie that has been his life. Royanne fights her feelings for Zachriel. She begins to see him as a kindred spirit. There is only one thing to do reveal her love for him. Can she convince him her feelings are real and he is worth loving?
~ Excerpt ~
* He could feel she was unhappy.
* "It all helps for the future, you know." He sensed her need for freedom.
* Royanne moved her hand away, but he noticed she lingered at little as they released their grips. He had her now; her mind was his, but he needed more. A taste of her, then the link would be stronger. Damn, there were too many people passing the entrance to the alleyway for him to make his move now. If he got her wanting him enough to go to a hotel room, that would be perfect.
* He could read strands of desire in her mind. He planted more, he planted himself. This little Guardian was proving easier to manipulate than he had first thought. But what did they know of strength? All their kind was good for was the torture of the young and weak. He was no longer young or weak. The Dark Master had ensured they took care of him, nurtured, and trained to be a warrior of worth. Zach reached out and touched her bare arm lightly. With feather-like fingers, he stroked her skin. Royanne's gaze drifted to his fingers playing on her skin. She had not recoiled, which was good. He became bolder as he moved his hands to her shoulder. Her skin was warm and smooth. Zach maintained eye contact, knowing it would strengthen his bond with her. He caressed her cheek, and he slid his other hand lower to hold her curved hip and then her rounded ass. He massaged her ass cheek, and when no resistance was apparent, he lowered his lips to her pinky full lips, that called to him to kiss and claim. She seemed frozen to the spot. Yes, just as he liked them, under his control, helpless. He had her mind.

A Look At 'La Bella Isabella' by Raven McAllan ( @RavenMcAllan #FF #writer )

Today we have author Raven McAllan visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I live in Scotland, along with my husband and two cats—our children having flown the nest—surrounded by beautiful scenery, which inspires a lot of the settings in my books.
* I'm is used to sharing my life with the occasional deer, red squirrel, and lost tourist, to say nothing of the scourge of Scotland—the midge.
* As a lover of reading, I appreciate the history inside a book, and the chance to peek into the lives of those from years ago. I admit that I enjoy the research for my books almost as much as the writing; so much so, that sometimes I realize I've strayed way past the information I need to know, and not a paragraph has been added to my WIP.

What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
La Bella Isabella, is book one in my Regency Series Ladies Of London. Book two is The Best Man's Bridesmaid, and will be published in November. The third book, The Perfect Gift, is a Christmas story and will be published in December. They can be read in any order, but I think they'd be better read in one, two, and three.

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
I was doing my usual procrastination, er research, and arranged marriages in Regency times popped up. I then started to think how a young girl might rebel, how someone older might, and La Bella was born.

Describe the hero in five words.
Book One. Harry…Swoonworthy, elegant, macho, intrigued and interested.

Describe the heroine in five words.
Amanda… Tall, feisty, clever, determined, intriguing.

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
It has to be Amanda, she will settle for nothing less than she deserves. It is all or nothing, no compromise. The way she set out to see if she can have a good life is funny and romantic.

What's your favorite line in the story?
There are quite a few, but, said by Harry… ‘Anticipation was almost as satisfying as the actual event...almost.’

A look into the story La Bella Isabella
~ Blurb ~
* When your life is all arranged for you, there's only one thing to do—enjoy yourself while you can.
* When Amanda finds out whom her parents have chosen for her to marry, it puts her into despair. The one man occupying her dreams is to be hers in name only. Determined to enjoy life before it's all too late, La Bella Isabella and Her Dancing Girls is formed.
* The beautiful girl he keeps meeting by accident intrigues Harry. There is something familiar about her...he just cannot place.
* A private performance by La Bella Isabella provides a little knowledge, but is a little knowledge a dangerous thing?
~ Excerpt ~
* The snow was beginning to fall faster, and there were no cabs to be seen.
* "Bloody hell, I'll be too cold to warm anyone up at this rate," he muttered as he slid through the thickening snow, his footsteps muffled by its depth. "My prick will be so shriveled up, it'll take a week to be normal again. Even with help."
* So engrossed in keeping warm and muttering to himself, he heard nothing until a snort and a jangle of harness immediately behind him almost made him loose his footing.
* A black carriage had drawn level.
* "My lord," said a soft voice from inside, "this snow is getting thicker, and walking must be hazardous. As I trust there are no dogs out and about, I believe it is safer traveling in a carriage. May I give you a lift anywhere?"
* He recognized that voice. So did his body. No, not a week, after all. He felt light-headed and somewhat giddy. Not even a minute.
* "That would be kind...miss? Lady?"
* She laughed. "Yes, wouldn't it. Now, if you wish, get in and tell my coachman where you are heading."
* "Smithson Gardens," he said to the coachman, knowing that was near enough to his destination without revealing exactly where he was heading. He opened the door and swung inside, shutting it quickly after him to keep as much snow out as possible. The occupant was cloaked in dark velvet, a hood covering most of her face. She showed no inclination toward removing the hood.
* "I do hope I'm not taking you out of your way," he remarked urbanely. "For I believe on our earlier meeting, you were heading in the opposite direction.
* "I was, wasn't I, my lord? But as you see, now I am heading in this direction. And indeed, you will not take me out of my way."
* Harry sat back against the squabs. It was definitely his damsel in distress. And she obviously felt secure enough to invite him into her carriage even though she had no companion. But who was she? Obviously quality, but surely no lady of quality who valued her reputation would be in a carriage without a companion, let alone would invite a gentleman to share it with her. "I feel you have the better of me. You know me, but do I know you?"
* Again, that musical laugh.
* "You feel so, my lord? I wonder why? Because I call you 'my lord'? Are you a lord?"
* "I am. As to why? I thought I did feel so, perhaps I will feel so again." Such gentle innuendo, but realized—and judging by the brief laugh he heard—appreciated. "Are you a lady?"
* She considered. "Well, I am female, so that makes me a lady. Am I a lady? One of life's mysteries, my lord."
* Harry moved slightly, so his thigh rested against her cloak. "I love a mystery."
* "Oh, so do I."
* The coach came to a halt. "I believe we have reached Smithson Gardens, my lord. Are you sure you do not want to be taken all the way to your destination? We wouldn't want you to catch a chill and be unable to...shall we say...help Lady Mellissa, would we?"
* The minx! So she did know who he was! And about his involvement with Mellissa, something he was sure very few people were aware of.

Welcome special guest: author Raven McAllan

Today we have author Raven McAllan visiting. Raven lives on the edge of a Scottish forest with her husband and two cats, her children having flown the nest. She loves good books, fine wine and chocolate, and hates midges and liver. Especially midges!

So, Raven, what inspired you to become a writer?
Winning a competition at primary school. The prize was chocolate.

When did you attempt your first story? What length was it? What's become of it?
As a proper try? A very long and rambling effort about living in a Scottish Castle, it's probably in a box in the attic. I wrote it (or attempted to about 20 years ago. But I've always written stories, often to the disgust of my teacher. "Facts dear, facts!"

How many stories did you complete before you sold your first?
This was the one of the first I completed, (I think I had three written) and there were a few more almost done.

What genre(s) do you write in? What drew you to write in it/them? What’s your favorite genre of all to write in?
I write romance in one form or another. Regency, contemporary, paranormal, mystery— both sweet and sinfully hot! M/f, m/m, f/f, menage, I love them all.

What are the best and worst pieces of writing advice you ever received?
Best? Write as you can not as you think you should! Worst? You can't write!

How do you celebrate/deal with acceptance/rejection letters?
Wine and chocolate, both times!

In regard to the book you’re promoting, which actor and actress do you envision playing the roles of your hero and heroine? If there’s a villain or other characters who are pertinent to the story, who would play those parts?
This is the only thing I can't do. I never ever base my chracters on real people, they are truly a figment of my imagination. I know what they look like, but it isn't anyone I know! I like my readers to make their own minds up. If you see Ivo as Daniel Craig, or Alexander Skaarsgard, that's fine by me.

The book you’re promoting, is it a stand-alone story or part of a series? If it’s part of a series, please list the order the books need to be read in for maximum reading enjoyment.
I'm really lucky here, because Rogue Scandals is the 3 in 1 paperback of 3 of my Regency stories.Wallflower's Don't Wilt is the first, then To Please A lady. These are both available as ebooks. The third story, A Most Unusual Mistress is out on August 17th. So if you want to know what happens you have to get the peprbsck. It's very losely a series, in that the characters from book one pop up in the others. They can be read in any order but, much better like that!
*The first book was written in response to a dare by my crit group, but once I started to realize the problems they encountered in trying to get their relationship to work I was hooked. And my love of all things Regency increased.

*** Now for some fun info… ***
Are you a cat, dog or both kind of person?
I have cats, but love walking with my friend and her dogs.

Which do you prefer: rain or sun & warm weather or cold weather?
Oh sun, sun and heat!

Are you a morning person or night owl?
Morning, I get up and write!

*** About Raven’s book… ***
So, Rogue Scandals. Due in paperback on June 15th.
*Researching these books was so much fun. The more I did the more I found how hard life was for anyone who wished to live a non conventional lifestyle. I remembered some of the stories my great aunt (who herself wasn't what you called conventional in her younger days—there is definitely a story or two there) had told me about her great grandma, and thought hmm! There's a book in all this. I also love rummaging through junk stalls, antique shops and old book stores, and it'd amazing what you find. To say nothing of what you find when you put stuff into your search engine!
*I was looking a stall in China and saw a very interesting piece of jade! I researched it later. (there was no way I was going to ask my son who spoke mandarin to query if it was indeed a carved part of a gentleman's anatomy. And yes it was!) We bough a tiny jade elephant instead!
Here's the blurb...
*Rogue Scandals. Where rogues and ladies, love fight, and play
*Beneath the prim and proper surface of the ton, intrigue and scandal was only a gossiping word away.
*For many men and women, the fear of ruin and worse accompanied them at all times. Some defied propriety, took hold of their happiness and hoped for the best.
*Meet the men prepared to defy convention to win their ladies.
*But are those ladies prepared to let them have it all their own ways?
*Of course not, for their partnerships are as unconventional as the ladies themselves.
Wallflowers Don't Wilt
*Two women on the verge of freedom. One man looking for adventure. Can he persuade them that freedom comes in many forms, including three bodies entwined?
To Please A Lady
*When your lovers are lovers themselves, and want you to help them make the perfect triangle, what do you say? Persuade me of course!
A Most Unusual Mistress
*Why be a wife if a mistress has more fun? All Adriana has to do is get Ashley to agree.
