Top 10 & #Giveaways ~ Jessica E. Subject & 'Bryce' @jsubject #SciFi #Romance

Today we have author Jessica E. Subject visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Jessica E. Subject is the author of science fiction romance, mostly alien romances, ranging from sweet to super hot. Sometimes she dabbles in paranormal and contemporary as well, bringing to life a wide variety of characters. In her stories, you could not only meet a sexy alien or two, but also clones and androids. You may be transported to a dystopian world where rebels are fighting to live and love, or to another planet for a romantic rendezvous.
* When Jessica isn't reading, writing, or doing dreaded housework, she likes to get out and walk with her giant, hairy dog her family adopted from the local animal shelter.
* Jessica lives in Ontario, Canada with her husband and two energetic children. And she loves to hear from her readers. You can find her at jessicasubject.com.

Today Jessica E. Subject will be sharing her Ten Favorite Lines from BRYCE: Galactic Defenders book one (without any spoilers).
1 - Bryce raised his crossbow, lining his sights on the creature standing amongst the bushes, its branch-like tentacles undulating in the gentle breeze. Focusing the crosshairs on the alien’s torso, he drew in a deep breath. He had one shot. (Author Note: These are the opening lines of the story. To me, it displays the intensity of the opening scene, and what is going to happen throughout the story.)
2 - What child wanted to know her mother came from another planet? Or could keep the fact a secret?
3 - She’d heard the alien hunters used wormholes, but had never seen or traveled through one, and hoped to never again.
4 - “He’s probably really tired right now. Wasn’t very cooperative at first, but I managed to tame the beast.”
5 - Bryce had both Katrina and a young Kalaren on the ground doing push-ups. “Anytime you feel like releasing a little energy, this is what I want you to do.” He crouched in front of them while the other Defenders in the room watched in amusement.
6 - A little girl dashed out in front of her, jet-black curls bouncing along her shoulders. In her tattered white gown—probably a hand-me-down from an older generation—she stared up into her eyes, no reservations about approaching royalty. “Princess Lalia, where have you been? They taught us in school you were killed in the Erebus attack.”
7 - And what was she supposed to have told them? You must meet with me because I’m an alien princess? No doubt the truth would have landed her in a mental institution, or worse, a lab.
8 - A tiny head with jet-black hair peeked out from under a tree root. “Princess, is it really you?”
9 - “A planet has just been destroyed.” The thought of growling at the young Vella crossed his mind. Instead, he sidestepped him and headed to the control room to meet the leader of the Galactic Alliance. “There is no good news today.”
10 - “You may be responsible for sending them to Niesgoo, but you’re only responsible for their deaths if you leave them there to die.”

* A dedicated Defender…
* Bryce fell in love once, but after Lalia was ripped away from him, he locked his heart from feeling anything for anyone else. Instead, he devotes his life to the Galactic Alliance, killing every bloodthirsty Erebus he comes across.
* A shunned princess…
* Lalia Comosova fell in love with the wrong man. When her parents learned of her transgressions, they sent her to Earth to hide her error in judgment from the rest of the kingdom.
* A second chance?
* When these lovers are reunited after many years apart, they have a chance to find happiness together. But fate steps in and threatens to rip them apart as it did years ago.
~ Excerpt ~
* Bryce raised his crossbow, lining his sights on the creature standing amongst the bushes, its branch-like tentacles undulating in the gentle breeze. Focusing the crosshairs on the alien’s torso, he drew in a deep breath. He had one shot. If he missed, the Erebus would cry out and alert the natives of Terra to its existence, resulting in more casualties. At first glance, no one on the planet, also called Earth, would believe an Erebus anything more than an overgrown bush, but Bryce knew the truth. He’d trained to hunt the creatures from childhood.
* Each step carefully placed, he advanced until he stood twenty feet from the Erebus, no chance to miss the shot. With a slight movement of his finger, he squeezed the trigger, sending a zuranium-tipped arrow racing toward the alien.
* “Quinn, would you grab me another garbage bag?”
* Fornax. The creature lunged toward the female voice, Bryce’s arrow stuck in one of its tentacles. A kill, but not instant.
* He loaded another arrow. At the risk of being seen, he charged through the hedges. He had to cut the Erebus off before it had a chance to kill the Terran. He leaped over metal furniture and large urns, keeping his focus on the creature.
* “What the hell? Get out of my yard!”
* The woman rushed him, but Bryce darted around her. When the Erebus lumbered in front of him, he raised his weapon and fired. A clean shot to the middle. The creature dropped like a fallen log, crushing the furniture it landed on.
* Bryce loaded the crossbow again. No time to celebrate the kill. He had to worry about the possibility of other Erebus in the area, along with the Terran woman who had seen him. Instead of running away screaming, as he’d expected her to do, she stared, wide-eyed in horror. Not at him, but the Erebus. Her body trembled as she shuffled backward, mumbling incomprehensible words.
* An unexpected sense of familiarity washed over him. He couldn’t draw his attention away from her slim figure, the way her long brown hair flowed over her shoulders. Far more attractive than he’d pictured the Terrans when others talked about them. He took a closer glance. Lalia? How had she traveled so far from home without anyone knowing? She was no stranger, and definitely not Terran. Or, perhaps she was simply a doppelganger of the woman he’d once loved. He had the sudden urge to comfort her, relieve her worry. Hold her in his arms the way he had many years ago. But what if the missing princess had somehow made her way to a planet unaware life existed beyond their own? After she’d left Hemera and him behind without so much as a goodbye, he’d searched everywhere. Though not once had he thought to look on Terra.
* A ground-shattering bellow pierced the night. Bryce spun around, finding himself face-to-face with another Erebus. It stared at him with beady red eyes. Thick black goop dripped from its mouth.
* Bryce raised his bow, but the creature slammed him with one of its tentacles, flinging him back. The Erebus lunged at Lalia.
* Rolling to his knees, Bryce aimed and fired. He hit the alien from behind, launching it forward. Onto his former lover. Slinging the bow over his shoulder, he raced toward her. The creature’s tentacles still pulsed, even though dead. Careful not to trip himself up, he shoved his hands under the creature’s torso and heaved it off her.
* Lalia stood immediately and wiped the black goop from her clothes, as if she hadn’t been flattened by an alien. “They weren’t supposed to follow me. I was supposed to be safe here.”

Steve McHugh & 'Lies Ripped Open' @StevejMchugh @GoddessFish #Adventure #Fantasy

Today we have author Steve McHugh visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Steve’s been writing from an early age, his first completed story was done in an English lesson. Unfortunately, after the teacher read it, he had to have a chat with the head of the year about the violent content and bad language. The follow up ‘One boy and his frog’ was less concerning to his teachers and got him an A.
* It wasn’t for another decade that he would start work on a full-length novel that was publishable, the results of which was the action-packed Urban Fantasy, Crimes Against Magic.
* Steve McHugh lives in Southampton on the south coast of England with his wife and three young daughters. When not writing or spending time with his kids, he enjoys watching movies, reading books and comics, and playing video games.

Today Steve McHugh will be talking about how he became a writer and what inspired him in regard to the story he's promoting.
* Before I was about 13, I didn’t want to write, I probably wanted to be a ninja or astronaut or something else that was as exciting to a 10 year old boy. A ninja astronaut possibly, if such a thing exists, and if it doesn’t, it really should because that would be awesome.
* Anyway, I was probably 11 when I was given Treasure Island to read, along with a bunch of Sherlock Holmes stories and some others I can barely remember. The Sherlock ones stuck out the most in my mind, they were the ones that made me go to the library in search of others to read. At some point in the local library, I moved from there into the realm of the choose your own adventure books.
* I devoured these like a ravenous beast, always hungry for more and never really satisfied that I’d read enough, right up until I was 13 and my English teacher told me to branch out, to read something more challenging, more diverse. I took him at his challenge and went to the library again (something I’d find myself doing more and more over the years), and picked up Terry Pratchett and David Gemmell. They were soon joined by Stephen King and countless others, and that was it. I wanted to be a writer.
* When it came to writing out my school report about what we wanted to do when leaving, I wrote author and was told by my teacher to write something more realistic, something more… well, boring to be honest. I choose accountant. I have never been an accountant.
* That’s not to say I went straight from age 16 and leaving school to become an author. It took me 9 years, until I was 25 and about to become a father for the first time, when I finally decided to get serious about it. It took another 8 years before I’d get published, the majority of that time just learning my craft and trying not to suck at something I’d fallen in love with.
* Since that day in April 2012, I’ve become a best selling author with five published books, the most recent of which is Lies Ripped Open. And frankly it’s been an incredible 3 ½ years.
* Lies Ripped Open is the accumulation of the previous four books worth of story and questions. It answers a lot of those questions, and asks several of it’s own, but it’s a story I knew I was looking forward to writing from the first word of book one, Crimes Against Magic.
* I can tell you wholeheartedly that writing is the greatest job I’ve ever had, or could ever imagine doing, the fact that I get to tell stories for people to read and enjoy is something I will never ever get tired of. And long may that continue.

Tegon Maus & 'Machines of the Little People' @TegonMaus @GoddessFish #Technothriller

Today we have author Tegon Maus visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I was raised pretty much the same as everyone else... devoted mother, strict father and all the imaginary friends I could conjure. Not that I wasn't friendly, I just wasn't "people orientated". Maybe I lived in my head way more than I should have, maybe not. I liked machines more than people, at least I did until I met my wife.
* The first thing I can remember writing was for her. For the life of me I can't remember what it was about... something about dust bunnies under the bed and monsters in my closet. It must have been pretty good because she married me shortly after that. I spent a good number of years after inventing games and prototypes for a variety of ideas before I got back to writing.
* It wasn't a deliberate conscious thought it was more of a stepping stone. My wife and I had joined a dream interpret group and we were encouraged to write down our dreams as they occurred. "Be as detailed as you can," we were told.
* I was thrilled. If there is one thing I enjoy it's making people believe me and I like to exaggerate. Not a big exaggeration or an outright lie mine you, just a little step out of sync, just enough so you couldn't be sure if it were true or not. When I write, I always write with the effort of "it could happen" very much in mind and nothing, I guarantee you, nothing, makes me happier.

* When Ben Harris' sister passes away, her husband, Roger Keswick, is mysteriously absent from her funeral. It's not until 6 months later that Ben is pulled back in to Roger's life, only to find that he's moved on. His new wife may be called Jessica, but she's the spitting image of Ben's sister. Things escalate when Roger claims there's a factory under his house run by little people called the Katoy.
~ Excerpt ~
* "Ben?" Audry called from the far gate.
* "Here, Audry," I said, getting to my feet.
* Roger did the same.
* By the time we made it to the front yard the police were driving away.
* Jessica and Audry approached us, each slipping an arm around Roger and me.
* "Jessica, Audry. I..." Roger stammered before he broke down into tears.
* Arm in arm we went into the house.
* "Come over here, all of you," Roger said, rushing into the living room. Opening the wall cabinet that held his computer, he flipped it on. "Let me show you. I have proof."
* The girls moved, one to each side of him and I in the center, just far enough not to interfere. The monitor hummed to life.
* Audry silently wiped tears from her face and held my hand tightly.
* Roger opened file after file until reaching one called 'Katoy.'
* Excitedly, he got up, knocking over his chair, and rushed to turn on the stereo. He adjusted it, making it a little louder than usual before righting the chair, retaking his place.
* "You must promise never to speak of this outside of these four walls," he said, covering the screen with his left hand.
* We looked at each other and vowed our oath of silence.
* "Ok, Bob," Roger said and a new image jumped to the screen.
* "Bob is your computer?" I asked a little bewildered.
* "Yeah. Cool huh?" he said, grinning, half turning to me. "I have him hooked up all over the house."

A Look At Michelle Diener & 'Dark Horse' @michellediener @GoddessFish #SciFi

Today we have author Michelle Diener visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Michelle Diener writes historical fiction, fantasy and science fiction. Having worked in publishing and IT, she’s now very happy crafting new worlds and interesting characters and wondering which part of the world she can travel to next.
* Michelle was born in London, grew up in South Africa and currently lives in Australia with her husband and two children.
* When she’s not writing, or driving her kids from activity to activity, you can find her blogging at Magical Musings, or online at Twitter, at Google+ and Facebook.

What are you going to tell us about today?
* My science fiction story, Dark Horse.
A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* Some secrets carry the weight of the world.
* Rose McKenzie may be far from Earth with no way back, but she's made a powerful ally--a fellow prisoner with whom she's formed a strong bond. Sazo's an artificial intelligence. He's saved her from captivity and torture, but he's also put her in the middle of a conflict, leaving Rose with her loyalties divided.
* Captain Dav Jallan doesn't know why he and his crew have stumbled across an almost legendary Class 5 battleship, but he's not going to complain. The only problem is, all its crew are dead, all except for one strange, new alien being.
* She calls herself Rose. She seems small and harmless, but less and less about her story is adding up, and Dav has a bad feeling his crew, and maybe even the four planets, are in jeopardy. The Class 5's owners, the Tecran, look set to start a war to get it back and Dav suspects Rose isn't the only alien being who survived what happened on the Class 5. And whatever else is out there is playing its own games.
* In this race for the truth, he's going to have to go against his leaders and trust the dark horse.
~ Excerpt ~
* Her jump surprised them as much as their jump surprised her, she guessed, from the way they reacted to the sight of her suddenly crouched on the roof of her little spaceship.
* With a hand signal and a barked command, the big guy whoʼd been standing in the middle, the one sheʼd exchanged a look with earlier, had them all letting the cords on their fancy automatic grappling hooks winch them back to the top again, weapons trained on the gryak. He stayed behind, though, eyes never leaving the gryak, and walked carefully to her ship.
* He was going to climb up to her.
* The gryak had stopped when sheʼd jumped, and gone very watchful when the soldiers had dropped into its cave, but now it prowled up and down in front of her craft, confused and distressed.
* The black helmet and then the enormous shoulders of the Grih whoʼd stayed below with her rose up, her rescuer easily pulling himself onto the roof with her.
* They stared at each other again, not that Rose could see much of his face through the helmet, and she mentally called up the Grih sheʼd learned over the last eight weeks.
* “Iʼm Rose McKenzie. Pleased to meet you.” Grih informal greetings required her to touch her nose to his left cheek, and he to hers, but they were on more of a formal footing, she was guessing, and his helmet was in the way anyway, so she extended her hands palms facing each other, waiting for him to either cover hers or let her cover his. She couldnʼt remember who should do what, right at that minute.
* There was a moment of silence, and then the thin, gray-tinted glass on his helmet retracted, and she looked directly into startled pale blue eyes with a dark outer-rim of navy blue. “You speak Grih.”
* “Iʼve been studying it.” She looked at him, and tears pricked her eyes.
* Sazo had said the Grih were as close to being like her as it got in this part of the universe. But sheʼd thought heʼd been talking in general terms. Bi-pedal, with two eyes, a nose and a mouth. That was the most sheʼd hoped for.
* She even thought it didnʼt matter. She would be happy to be alive, and wouldnʼt care if she looked completely different to the people who would hopefully take her in.

Welcome special guest: #author KC Klein @kckleinbooks #SciFi #SpaceOpera

Today we have author KC Klein visiting.
What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* KC Klein has lived most of her life with her head in the clouds and her nose buried in a book. She did stop reading long enough to make a home with a real life hero, her husband, for over twenty years. A mother of two children, she spends her time slaying dragons, saving princesses, and championing the belief in the happily-ever-after. An award winning author, KC Klein has written her gritty, sci-fi, Dark Future Series, and The Omega Galaxy Series, but she has become most widely known for her popular Texas Fever contemporary romance series. KC loves to hear from readers and can be found desperately pounding away on her laptop in yoga pants and leopard slippers or more conveniently at www.kckleinbooks.com.

So, KC Klein, what/who inspired you to become a writer?
* I wanted to become a writer when I was in second grade after reading Super Fudge by Judy Blume. I didn’t even know exactly what an author was, but I knew I wanted to be that person who wrote stories and other people read them. :)
When did you attempt your first story? What length was it? What's become of it?
* I didn’t really try to write until around 6th or 7th grade. I started to write long hand in notebooks and then eventually got an electric typewriter that I burned out over one summer by keeping it on for too long.
How many stories did you complete before you sold your first?
* Dark Future was both the first novel I wrote and first that got published, but that doesn’t take into account that I re-wrote that book like seven times. :)
What are the best and worst pieces of writing advice you ever received?
* Both the worst and best piece of advice was the same, “Just write. Everything can be fixed later.” It was the best because in the beginning that was what I needed to hear. I needed to practice writing and getting any words down on paper was the best way to do that. It was the worst because around novel five I realized I needed to learn how to plot. Writing by the seat of my pants made editing sheer hell.
The book you’re promoting, is it a stand-alone story or part of a series?
* My latest book is a space opera romance, The Space Captain’s Courtesan. It’s the first book in the series, but really can be enjoyed as a standalone.
What sparked the idea for the story/series?
* I was talking to a bunch of authors on the way to a publisher party and we came up with an idea of having a themed anthology. We loved the idea of an “accidental courtesan” but shown how that could play out through time. I volunteered for the futuristic time period and The Space Captain’s Courtesan was born.
* In case you were wondering, the anthology never came to fruition, but it was too late for me. I had already fallen in love with the story and knew I needed to write it.
*** Now for some fun info… ***
Would you/have you own(ed) a snake or some other exotic pet?
* Nope. Never.
Which do you prefer: rain or sun & warm weather or cold weather?
* I’m a total desert rat. I hate to be cold or wet. Sunshine all the way, baby!
If you could live anywhere in the universe, where would it be and why?
* I’m not sure. Paris maybe because it seems as if art is more respected there. Really though, I could be happy anywhere my family was.
If you were stranded on a desert island and were only allowed to have five modern conveniences with you, what would they be?
* Shade (I burn so easily); Laptop; Internet; Cell phone; Coffee maker
*** About the book… ***
~ Blurb ~
* Mya is having a crap day.
* Princess Mya Centauri is stranded and alone on the shady Bates Space Station. With rumors of her father’s dethronement escalating, she needs more than her wits and entitlement to protect her—she needs a hero. So when she unexpectedly finds herself mistaken for some whore by Centauri’s most notorious assassin, and at one time her father’s most trusted man, she decides things can only get worse.
* Jax is having a crap decade.
* Framed for a crime he didn’t commit, Captain Jax Rouss, an ex-Royal Guard, is now an escaped prisoner with a price on his head. Embittered after years of trying to clear his name, Jax wants nothing whatsoever to do with the family he once swore to protect. So when he wakes up to find that the sweet, smelling patron-pleaser he’s purchased is not only lovely, but already in his bed, he decides things can only get better.
* But with lives at stake and kingdoms in jeopardy, Mya will do anything to convince the one man who hates the Royal family above all else to become her hero, even if it means being the one thing he can’t resist…The Space Captain’s Courtesan.

A Look At M. Pax & 'Precipice' @mpax1 @GoddessFish #SciFi #spaceopera

Today we have author M. Pax visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* M. Pax is author of the space adventure series The Backworlds and the contemporary science fiction series The Rifters, plus other novels and short stories. Fantasy, science fiction, and the weird beckons to her, and she blames Oregon, a source of endless inspiration. She docents at Pine Mountain Observatory in the summers as a star guide, has a cat with a crush on Mr. Spock, and is slightly obsessed with Jane Austen.

Today M. Pax will be talking about...
Five Steps to Balancing Life and Writing
1. Make a list of priorities and times they take place.
2. Where can you squeeze in writing/writing related activities?
3. Make a schedule of writing times/activities.
4. Stick to the schedule.
5. Adjust where necessary.
* It sounds so simple, right? Yeah, way easier than it is to do. No matter if an author writes full time or in her/his spare time, life loves to creep in and steal the writing time.
* The less distractions I have, the better I do at hitting my goals. I rarely succeed at turning away from the internet, so require myself to get to a certain point before I check in with social media. It helps. There are programs you can purchase to temporarily turn the internet off. Google “program to temporarily disable internet”.
* Like anything else, finding balance is about figuring out how to work with yourself instead of against yourself. If writing time is scheduled during a conflicting with another priority, it’s never going to work.
* I know many writers who get up before dawn or stay up extra late to get some coveted time for their manuscripts. I write in the mornings. It’s my most creative time, and I have the most energy. So I’m working with myself.
* Setting manageable goals helps keep projects on track. Just be sure to make them ‘manageable’. If the set goals are unrealistic, frustration and disappointment will soon be on the desk with the manuscript gathering dust.
* In the end, there are always bits of life that come along to throw everything out of whack. Let the balance be out of whack. We’re only human, and can only do what we can do. It’s OK.
* There are places chunks of time can be stolen. For instance, at a kid’s sports practice or waiting to pick up the kid from school. Little bits of work add up to a whole manuscript over time.
A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* In the far future, humanity settles the stars, bioengineering its descendants to survive in a harsh universe. This is the sixth book in the science fiction series, The Backworlds. A space opera adventure.
* The Backworlds hang by a Quantum string, a thread about to snap. Annihilation is coming if Craze can’t stop it.
* The genocidal alien he had trapped breaks free, destroying a ship belonging to the Backworlds’ oldest enemy, the Fo’wo’s. The murderous alien wants to overtake the galaxy. The Fo’wo’s want another war.
* The Backworlds’ best chance to survive is to overcome a century of hate and forge an alliance with the Fo’wo’s. Because of his history with the alien, Craze is recruited to represent his people. Now he’s the most hated man in the galaxy.
* The looming war will be a holocaust unless he can stop it, knowing salvation comes at a price.
* Boing Boing gives The Backworlds 5 stars! "This is a fun, fast paced novel that reminded me a bit of early Heinlein".
~ Excerpt ~
* Engaging the thrusters on the jetpack strapped to her back, Rainly steered herself through space. Its vastness terrified her. Her skin prickled. The man in the white robe jabbering in her head overwhelmed her, blocking out all until she found herself back on the Sequi opening the box she had retrieved. She had hoped answering the man’s summons would end her blackouts.
* “I don’t want to know what I did,” she whispered, her teeth chattering and limbs quaking. She couldn’t take much more of this.
* The size and dimensions of a coffin, the box was also a ship. One more sophisticated than the Sequi. Using a control paddle, Rainly maneuvered a dolly under the box, then she wheeled it into the living quarters. Her sister had moved the couches, creating ample space.
* Her hands clapping, her sister beamed. “Let’s meet our master.”
* Together they pried open the chamber per instructions pulsing in Rainly’s head. The flood of data had to be making a clamor in her sister’s mind too, because she moved in the same ways.
* Inside the box lay a brain in a sac of goo. Nothing like Rainly expected. “Is it a Fo’wo?” she asked her sister.
* “Not yet. We have to reboot him first.”
* Rainly had to wonder whether she and her sister had gone insane.

A Look At London Saint James & 'Rise of the Lost Prince' @LSJRomance @evernightpub #erotic #fairytale

Today we have author London Saint James visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* *Waves* I’m London. My favorite flowers are orchids. I hate watching reruns on TV. My taste in music is eclectic. I like alpha males with scowls to die for. Wait. This isn’t a dating profile. *Smiles* Here’s what you really want to know. I’m a multi-published romance author, who tends to write more erotic romance than not, but I’ve been known to write a sweet story or two.
* My official bio is: London Saint James has lived in many places, but never felt “at home” until she met the real-life man of her dreams and settled down in the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. London lives with her husband and their fat cat who thinks he owns them.
* As an award-winning, bestselling, multi-published author, London is living her childhood dream. She knew all the scribbling she did, that big imagination of hers, and all those clamoring characters running around in her head would pay off someday.

What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
* Today, I’m going to be chatting up my brand new release from Evernight Publishing, Rise of the Lost Prince, which is the first book in the Lost Boys series.

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
* Well, I suppose my muse had been pondering a story based loosely on Peter Pan, only with sexy warrior types and a badass version of Peter, which is named Petúr. FYI, my muse is a bit crazy, because I was in the middle of writing another story, when the muse said stop and write about Neverland. (Neverland is an abandoned seaside amusement park) So, I listen to my muse, as I always do, sat the story I was writing aside for the moment, and brought Neverland and the Lost Boys to life. Problem was, the characters had much more to say. Maybe that’s not really a problem. *Smiles* But, we’ll see the rest of the cast of characters again, since Rise of the Lost Prince is the first in the Lost Boy series.

Describe the hero in five words.
* Sexy. Badass. Warrior. Loyal. Protective.

Describe the heroine in five words.
* Loving. Truthful. Trustworthy. Loyal. Caring.

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* Oh, gosh. I love them all. They are all different, but while I love my heroine, and my hero. I think spunky and sassy Bell, whose one of the integral cast of characters, is probably going to end up being my favorite.

What's your favorite line in the story?
* Here’s more than one line, but it’s probably one of my favorites. This is after Petúr has saved Wyndi from an evil darkling attack, and he notices more about her than he wants to notice about a human woman.
* Her sweet cotton candy scent assaulted his nose once more. His dick stirred beneath the leather of his D-ring jeans. Would she melt in his mouth like the candy would? His brow furrowed. What was wrong with him? He took in another deep breath, allowing her bouquet to linger. Maybe the ache would go away if he just tasted those full lips. No. He shook his head in an attempt to shake away the urge.

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* They fight to protect those who would never welcome them into the human world...
* Petúr always knew he and his brothers-in-arms were different. Something more. Something not human. Yet, he never expected to find out the truth of their origins, nor fall for a human woman whose father was set to destroy Neverland.
* Ever since she was a child, Wyndi dreamed of an angel with eyes of the purest gold, although she never really believed such a man existed until she met the hauntingly beautiful Petúr of the lost boys.
* With a prophecy to fulfill, a woman to protect, a portal to find, and evil darklings out for blood, will Petúr be strong enough to rise up and claim what’s rightfully his, or lose everything to a long-time nemesis, Grapple the Dark?
Be Warned: Voyeurism, Violence
~ Excerpt ~
* Petúr’s long coat flared out behind him, whipping in the wind—black raven wings. Above him, the moon danced in and out of existence and periodically hid behind the dreary clouds. He’d perched himself atop the rusted metal monstrosity which sat cold and derelict among the ruins of the abandoned seaside amusement park. From the top of the lifeless Ferris wheel he surveyed his realm, just as he did every night, waiting for the faint cries. They always came, those haunting cries, and called him and the lost boys into the darkness.
* Cables clacked and Petúr tilted his head in a bird-like gesture, listening to them echo into the rhythmic music of the tide coming ashore. As if on cue, an eerie underlying chorus chimed in from the direction of the closed ticket booth. He recognized the sound of the warped roof when it moaned and creaked. The red painted exterior walls had long since faded and peeled away from the briny wood in elongated streaks, reminiscent of morbid tears.
* He closed his eyes and attempted to picture this place he and the others called home, trying to imagine what it must have been during its glory days, but he couldn’t see anything. All he knew was the truth of his surroundings. And, the truth was, with every passing year more of his home crumbled. Even the entrance into this collapsing kingdom had joined the sea, snuffing out the arched sign which once upon a time blinked—Neverland—Mother Nature’s way of taking back her own when she’d claimed a major portion of the boardwalk.
* Everything ends.
