A Look At Beth D. Carter & 'Sex, Love & Aliens' @BethDCarter @beachwalkpress #anthology #scifi

Today we have author Beth D. Carter visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I like writing about the very ordinary girl thrust into extraordinary circumstances, so my heroines will probably never be lawyers, doctors or corporate highrollers. I try to write characters who aren't cookie cutters and push myself to write complicated situations that I have no idea how to resolve, forcing me to think outside the box. I love writing characters who are real, complex and full of flaws, heroes and heroines who find redemption through love.
*I love to hear from readers so I’ve made it really easy to find me on the web. You'll find my links at the bottom of this post.

What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
* I’m going to talk about the anthology “Sex, Love & Aliens”, published through Beachwalk Press. I’m really excited about this collection, mainly because I’m sharing the spotlight with three amazing authors. If you’ve not read any books by Ashlynn Monroe, Imogene Nix, or Jaye Shields, you’ve been missing out. This book would be a great opportunity to sample just how great these ladies are at what they do.
* My story in this anthology is called Gravitation, because as much as my heroine wants to escape her alien buddy, they keep being pulled together. Like gravity. I wrote this story in a week because Bree was so real to me, so alive, that her words flowed easily. She’s one of my favorite characters I’ve created.
* Now, this story has a FREE prequel, telling Niah’s story before he meets Bree. You can find it at Smashwords: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/467913

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
* When I heard about the submissions call, my mind went to a type of The Walking Dead scenario, only with aliens instead. Bree is on the run, trying to stay hidden from the invaders that have taken over Earth.

Describe the hero in five words.
* Niah: a leader, hero, and lover.

Describe the heroine in five words.
* Bree: hopeful, but lonely and determined

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* Easily, it’s Bree. I suppose because a lot of me is in her. I think the reason she was so easy to write was because I simply put myself in her shoes about what I would do in her situation.

What's your favorite line in the story?
* I have to pick only one!!??? LOL!
* Okay, this line perhaps sums this story up nicely. Neither of them speaks each other’s language, so they communicate with hand signals and by Niah learning only two words, which he says here.
* “Bree,” he called out, and she turned to glance at him. “Stay. Bree stay.”

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* Can Bree and Niah’s love overcome their species being at war with one another?
* Bree has spent her whole life hiding from the aliens who destroyed what was once Earth. When she stumbles across a wounded alien, common sense tells her to kill him before he can kill her, but her compassionate side refuses to obey. Instead, she helps him.
* The two forge a temporary truce when they’re forced to band together for protection. But as the days slip by, the alien Niah won’t leave her, and as friendship gives way to something more, she can’t help but wonder when, or if, them being on opposite sides will break the fragile bonds of love forming between them.
* Content Warning: contains sexual content, strong language, and some violence
~ Excerpt ~
* Bree sat up quickly, looking around. Niah was gone. His leg splints were in a nice pile, the only testament that he’d been there. She ignored the stab of pain that pierced through her and told herself it was better this way. He had gone back to his people, to where he came from. It was time she went to where she belonged.
* As she gathered her things and slipped her backpack over her shoulders, she thought about when she asked him to save one life as a thank you. Well, seems like he did just that.
* He’d spared hers.

A Look At Elizabeth Monvey & 'My Alien Boyfriend' @evernightpub #gay #erotic #scifi #rotg

Today we have author Elizabeth Monvey visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I’ve traveled back and forth across the US about five times, so I use a lot of my experiences and observations in my stories. I must admit I prefer the west coast because I love the warmth of Southern California and the misty magic of the Pacific Northwest.

What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
* “My Alien Boyfriend” was just released through Evernight Publishing and is part of the My Boyfriend Is… series. It’s book three, but they don’t have to be read in order. They are all stand alone Romance on the Go stories, which means they are short and down-right sexy! All the books are around 30-40 pages, just long enough to get your erotica romance fix at lunch or go to bed with pleasant dreams.
* The books are: My Werewolf Boyfriend (Book 1), My Vampire Boyfriend (Book 2), My Alien Boyfriend (Book 3). Coming Soon is My Ghostly Boyfriend (Book 4), and I’m working on book 5 right now.

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
* The drive between LA and Las Vegas is about five hours, and the turning of the wheels can be monotonous. I come up with a lot of ideas when I’m driving because I don’t have any distractions like Facebook. On one of these trips I came up with the idea of My Werewolf Boyfriend, and the title just evolved into different story lines.

Describe the hero in five words.
* Mace Smith: Alien, compassionate, curious, loves Parker.

Describe the second hero in five words.
* Parker Iwata: Human, in love, proud, strong

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* Hmm…that’s tough. I love both characters. Maybe Mace because he’s willing to give up his happiness to make sure Parker lives. I love the strength of love, and there’s nothing as strong as sacrifice.

What's your favorite line in the story?
* Parker tells Mace, “I guess I’ll be your alien boyfriend now.”

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* Parker Iwata loves his boyfriend, Mace Smith, and he trusts in the knowledge that they are honest with one another on everything. Although they had a whirlwind romance, he knows that Mace is the man he’s going to be with forever.
* But one tragic accident changes everything.
* Mace Smith is not from this world. He’s a visitor, one that has special powers to bring Parker back from the brink of death. But in doing so, he must give up everything and leave Earth. Can he possibly convince Parker to go with him back to his world?
~ Excerpt ~
* They melted into each other, their mouths coming together, lips and tongues anxious to devour one another. Parker was lost in Mace’s hot mouth dominating his. Mace slid his hand up Parker’s thigh to find and squeeze his cock through his pants. He gasped as Mace massaged the hardness before moving to the zipper. In a few seconds, his hand slid under the waistband. There wasn’t much room in the jeans so Mace couldn’t do much except brush Parker’s cock with his fingertips. Parker shifted, trying to get closer to Mace, groaning in frustration when the denim didn’t give way. Mace withdrew his hand.
* “Get your clothes off,” Mace ordered as he grabbed hold of his own cock and began to leisurely stroke himself.
* Parker got to his knees and unbuttoned his shirt, slowly. He batted his eyelashes in a flirtatious manner. “Why? Do you want to fuck my ass?”
* He lightly slapped one jean-clad cheek.
* “You know I do. Clothes. Off. Now.”

A Look At Russ Linton & 'Crimson Son' @Russ_Linton @GoddessFish #superhero #scifi

Those who know me, know I am a very eclectic reader, and I like to highlight a variety of authors on my blog.Today I'm happy to welcome, Russ Linton, author of Crimson Son, a sci-fi, fantasy, coming of age story.

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* In the fourth grade, Russ Linton wrote down the vague goal of becoming a “writer and an artist” when he grew up. After a journey that led him from philosopher to graphic designer to stay at home parent and even a stint as an Investigative Specialist with the FBI, he finally got around to that “writing” part which he now pursues full time.
* Russ creates character-driven speculative fiction. His stories drip with blood, magic, and radioactive bugs. He writes for adults who are young at heart and youngsters who are old souls.
* Local / Personal Bio
* Russ lives in Denton, Texas where he writes beside an unnervingly quiet dog with the support of his history-obsessed son and his extremely patient wife. He regularly pursues community service and is currently scoutmaster for his son’s Boy Scout troop. He is a regular at the North Branch Writers’ Critique Group and has honed his craft through creative writing courses with Stanford University’s continuing studies program as well as writing workshops at local conventions.
* Russ holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do which was marginally more useful in a former life not making his living from behind a desk. He enjoys the outdoors and when he isn’t leading his scouts on virtual campouts in Minecraft, he’s making them haul their gear across state parks in the North Texas area.

How did you set upon the path of becoming a writer and what inspired you in regard to Crimson Son?
* I was born into myth. My parents were told there would be one child. My mother’s belly had swollen to the size of a VW, but clearly, there could be only one.
* Despite the vast wisdom of science, I emerged triumphant from the womb trailed by a sickly little thing who’d been stuffed in the corner, hiding from my sheer awesomeness. This was my sister. My twin energy, brought to this world through pure power of will and powerful magics.
* We were never children. From birth, we were given strange looks for our toddler size. We were goliaths. Nephilim among the mundane babies who clawed their way through the library’s easy-reader section shoving toys in their mouth and secreting drool in shiny trails like diapered slugs.
* I gazed on them in disdain and waddled into the chapter book section while my twin devoured the wheels off my toy cars. Her appetite knew no bounds. Trees, dog toys, she was feeding her energy to reverse the illness and unleash herself on the world at a later time.
* Me? I longed for the hero’s journey.
* We asked our mother to stop reading to us. She read too slowly, tried too hard to make our inner children happy with silly voices and sing-song. Bah! I needed to deconstruct the tropes. Examine the structure. Find truth within the words.
* Why are the fish red and blue? What kind of eldritch forces planted an attic in someone’s forehead? Shouldn’t the spider cover the interior of the barn in a three-dimensional manifesto about this pig’s slavery to the human race?
* I became lost in a world beyond worlds. A magic wood with shining pools, each deeper than my own imagination. I set out to explore them all.
* Then I got older.
* I lost those worlds. Only exploring them as a hobby. I was a grown up. I had to do grown up things. Yet a part of me clung to the mystical past and I would spend hours of my spare time describing these places to friends as a game. Visiting other worlds had become a shadowy hobby.
* Then I got wiser.
* I stopped chasing dreams and started living them. Now I create worlds. Won’t you join me?

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* His mother kidnapped, his superhero father absent, powerless Spencer Harrington faces a world of weaponized humans to prove himself and find the truth.
* Nineteen-year-old Spencer is the son of the Crimson Mask, the world's most powerful Augment. Since witnessing his mother's abduction by a psychotic super villain two years ago, he's been confined to his father's arctic bunker. When the "Icehole" comes under attack from a rampaging robot, Spencer launches into his father's dangerous world of weaponized human beings known as Augments.
* With no superpowers of his own save a multi-tool, a quick wit and a boatload of emotional trauma, Spencer seeks to uncover his mother's fate and confront his absentee superhero father. As he stumbles through a web of conspiracies and top secret facilities, he rallies a team of everyday people and cast-off Augments. But Spencer soon discovers that the Black Beetle isn't his only enemy, nor his worst.
~ Excerpt ~
* This part always comes so fast.
* I hand the phone back to Mom. “You’ll need to send later, I guess. The signal dropped. Should be in your outbox ready to go.”
* As she takes the phone, the wall of the room explodes.
* Here. Dream becomes nightmare. For a moment, I feel I can make it stand still, but why would I? Events unfold with the emptiness of the bunker gnawing at my insides. I can identify every stray chunk of plaster and splinter of wood in this time-robbed moment.
* Fragments of home spray like a swarm of locusts. Mom screams and the world spins under her protective dive. I struggle to see through a haze of dust. Glimpses of the valley filter past a humanoid silhouette. A long, pincered arm lashes out. The arm clamps tightly around Mom’s waist and retracts, drawing us closer.
* “Release the boy and he will live,” the Black Beetle speaks with an unnatural vibration. “He can relay a message for your husband.”
* Mom squeezes tighter but her screaming stops.
* I search her face, knowing what I’ll find, all the while scrambling to find an anchor as we slide across the room. She’s bleeding from a gash on her forehead and the pincer cinches tighter. Her eyes are full of fear, but focused. She’s calculating, deliberating. A hundred times? A thousand? It always hurts.
* “No, Mom, please!” I throw my hands around the leg of a toppled chair which drags uselessly behind us. Countless trips through this nightmare, I know I can’t keep us here, but I reach out anyway. And always, she lets go.
* I grab her arm, trying to pull her back, cursing my stunted size, my weak limbs, my feeble grip. Sweaty hands slip as the pincer continues to retract. Her trembling lips form a final smile and she watches me with a sad but determined expression.
* She mouths the words, “I love you.”

Welcome special guest: author Celeste Prater ~ @Celeste_Prater @GoddessFish #erotic #scifi

Today we have author Celeste Prater visiting.
What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Celeste is the author of the Fueled By Lust Book series. She’s a former Marine, rides her Harley every chance she gets, and loves writing about sexy, alien hunks that know how to treat their females. She loves engaging with her fans, so don’t hesitate to contact her. She’ll answer back.

So, Celeste Prater, what/who inspired you to become a writer?
* My hippy artist dad was the first to push me out of my introverted teenage years by giving me a journal and a fancy pen. I dabbled for years and only got serious in January 2013. I finished my Master’s degree and was sort of in limbo and very bored. I decided I wanted to honor my dad by finally writing something I could share with others. From 2011 to 2013, I read over 600 romance novels just to see what had been done to death, what riveted me, and what NOT to do. My dad has passed away and is still an inspiration that keeps me foraging ahead.

When did you attempt your first story? What length was it? What's become of it?
* My first attempt was on an historical romance novel a lot of years back. It was about 136 pages and typewritten on a manual typewriter (I got muscles in my fingers from that effort). I started writing it when I was in the Marine Corp. Right now, it’s sitting at the top of my closet gathering dust. I pull it out about every six months and laugh my ass off. I was so focused on getting the historical accuracy down, that I failed to build in the believability of the characters relationship. I use that as the hammer on the head to get my crap together on making my love stories something the reader can cherish…and I stay completely away from historical as a favor to my fan base.

How many stories did you complete before you sold your first?
* I consider myself very fortunate that I was only rejected twice and got picked up in August 2013. Drusus was my first ‘real’ novel and attempt at submission. Siren Publishing saw something in my story and I love them for it.

What are the best and worst pieces of writing advice you ever received?
* The best piece of advice came from the first publisher that rejected my book. Well, they didn’t outright reject the first time. They asked that I resubmit after giving me the good advice of including more world building in certain areas and ramp up the heat on the sex scenes. I guess I was a little hesitant to unleash my full power on those type scenes. I let loose and gave them some good stuff. I think I was rejected because I bugged the hell out of the submission editor. She kept losing my revised manuscript. I think her email was eating it. I submitted it back through their website and copied her on it again. I then sent her a follow up email asking if she’d gotten it. She sent back a reply in less than thirty minutes stating she had a twenty-four hour turnaround window to reply and promptly rejected me. No way did she have enough time to look over the changes she’d requested. I’m glad it happened though. They take lifetime rights to the books, so I’m looking at that as divine intervention. Oh, and Drusus has since been nominated as a top 5 finalist in the SciFi/Fantasy category and placed third in the RWA’s Passionate Pink’s 9th Annual Passionate Plume award. (Yes, my eyebrow is raised in a haughty manner right now. LOL!)
* The worse advice was a friend trying to tell me that erotic romance was dead and that I should do a mystery. I constantly send her screen shots of my books on the bestseller charts at Bookstrand and Amazon. I think she gets it now.

The book you’re promoting, is it a stand-alone story or part of a series?
* Caelius is book 5 of the series. I’ve written the series as a very tightly woven story line. Each gets their own HEA at the end, but I strongly recommend that they are read in sequence. Sometimes you will see a secondary character interacting with the main characters in one book and then when they finally get their installment, I may give you the events that were happening to them at the moment you saw them in the previous book. Of all the books I went through, I never saw that happen. I always wanted to know what was behind the scenes of the secondary’s moments. There order is:
* Book 1: Fueled by Lust: Drusus; Book 2: Fueled by Lust: Severus; Book 3: Fueled by Lust: Cato; Book 4: Fueled by Lust: Lucien; Book 5: Fueled by Lust: Caelius; Book 6: Fueled by Lust: Maxim is in progress.

What sparked the idea for the story/series?
* A dream. No joke. Saw this group of hunky aliens forming out of a ball a mist. They gave me their names and I discovered they were a product of an ancient roman emperor stumbling across their world when they were still in their original pure energy form.
* The more I write on this series, the more fascinated I become. These stories are not about a bunch of aliens that land on Earth in a spaceship and do decadent things to the earth females. This is a story of a group of guys that are just trying to survive after a tragedy on their home world. Their lives, history, and needs unfold before your eyes. The sex scenes hold nothing back, but you’re also going to see the amount of love these males bring to those encounters when they finally find their other half.

*** Now for some fun info… ***
Would you/have you own(ed) a snake or some other exotic pet?
* The closet I ever came to having an exotic pet was the Horney Toad lizard I captured on my grandfather’s farm. They’re extinct now…no, I’m not an immortal and been around for thousands of years (big grin), the poor things were outnumbered by the fire-ants that are very prevalent now in Texas. Very sad. They were pretty cool little creatures.

Which do you prefer: rain or sun & warm weather or cold weather?
* Definitely like the sun and warm weather, despite my fair skin and tendency to burn to a crisp unless I wear 100 SPF. I ride my own Harley and prefer not to purposefully venture out into the rain or slushy environment. People on the road are dangerous enough on a clear, beautiful day. Give them some slush and they’re out to kill you.

If you could live anywhere in the universe, where would it be and why?
* You said the magic word…universe. I swear, if I can find that vortex entry somewhere in the Chinati Mountains of West Texas, I’m diving in and getting a good look at Insedivertus. That’s one awesome place. The more I dream and write about it, the greater my belief grows that there’s a smidgen of a chance that it really exists. Hey! I can hope! (wink)

If you were stranded on a desert island and were only allowed to have five modern conveniences with you, what would they be?
* The #1 item would definitely be a Solar Powered Generator. I was a Marine and could probably handle roughing it, but hey if I get an opportunity, I’m going to make sure one of those bad boys floats into shore with me. 2. A packet of toothbrushes and floss. I can’t stand not having clean teeth. 3. An assortment of knives. I’m going to have to kill something, so I want to do it right. 4. Fishing equipment (including pans to cook) for when I can’t chase down that thing I planned to kill in #3. I’ll use the knives to shave my legs. 5. My laptop that I can plug into the generator. I’ll lose my mind if I can’t finish these stories.
* Note: I was going to say a hunky, male model for #5, but I’m not sure if it’s politically correct to consider them a modern convenience. If you ever confirm that, let me know and I’ll change my answer. What? I’m just sayin’. (wink)
* Seriously, thanks for having me here today. I enjoyed the questions. Big kiss to my fans! Love you all!

*** About Celeste Prater’s book… ***
~ Blurb ~
* Caelius Meron strips at Heat Seekers Male Revue just so he can find his mate. So imagine his shock when he finds her in a cooking class he was forced to attend. So what’s the problem? There’s twenty-two of them according to Rhia Brennan. Undaunted by her claim that he’s too young, Caelius battles every roadblock she places. But what if one may be too difficult to ignore?
* Kallon Aceso knows exactly who should own his heart, but Ulixes Dionysus doesn’t appear to want it. But is it really something else buried so deep that it may keep them apart forever?
* Travel with these two Insedi as they both chase their hearts desire, only to be thwarted by misconceptions and mistakes from the past. Can they scale these insurmountable walls, or will they have to walk away and forever mourn what they could never have?
* Book 5 in the Fueled By Lust Series brings back the sexy males that make your legs tremble just by saying your name.
~ Excerpt ~
* The heavily accented voice coming through the phone oozed sexy, virile man and sent chills skittering across her skin.
* “I have a confession, my bellula.”
* Rhia wasn’t even surprised at the shot of tingles traveling her skin and making a direct beeline to her clit. He’d whispered that word across her skin before. She tried to steady her breath.
* “Okay, so confess.” Umm, he was growling now. That shit just did crazy things to her girly parts. She was toast. Fine hairs rose across her skin, as if tuning in to that sensuous sound.
* “I find it very arousing that you think of me in that way. Even when I’m at my worst, you view me in a positive light. I wish you were here with me right now. Do you miss my touch, Rhia?”
* She could barely get her words past a soft whisper. “Yes. Very much.”
* Rhia heard the distinctive rustle of material again and pictured him shifting on the bed. She imagined him sliding a broad hand down his chest, across the ridges of his abs, and resting just above his groin. She grabbed a pillow and released a moan deep into the fabric.
* “Are you in your bed, Rhia?”
* “Yes.”
* “Will you do something for me?”
* “Of course. Yes.”
* “Turn the TV off and lower the lights.”
* “It’s off and only the bathroom light’s on. It’s dim in here.”
* “Good. Tell me what you’re wearing.”
* The words spewed out of her mouth. She wanted to get to the next part as quickly as possible. “Button down blouse and shorts.”
* “Are you wearing a thong?”
* Her breath hitched.
* “Yes. What are you wearing, Caelius?” A low rumble sounded against her ear.
* “Nothing. Absolutely nothing. There’s a thin sheet resting across my hips. Does that turn you on, Rhia?”

Welcome special guest: author Laura Roberts ~ @originaloflaura @GoddessFish #erotica

Today we have author Laura Roberts visiting.
What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Laura Roberts writes about sex, travel and ninjas – though not necessarily in that order. In addition to leg-pressing Sumo wrestlers while drinking coffee, she also runs the online literary salon, Black Heart. Laura lives in an Apocalypse-proof bunker in sunny SoCal, and can frequently be caught blogging at Buttontapper.com.
* Laura Roberts writes about sex, travel and ninjas. Because what's better than hot sex on a dream vacation while dodging shuriken? As the author of the “V for Vixen” sex column, Laura began her career writing about Montrealers’ sexcapades, which have been collected together for her book, The Vixen Files. Blending real-life observations with fictional fantasies, she’s penned parts 1 and 2 of her serial novel, Naked Montreal, along with the short story collection The Montreal Guide to Sex, saucy poetry volume 69 Sexy Haiku, and satirical novella Ninjas of the 512. She’s currently hard at work on a sexy murder mystery entitled The Case of the Cunning Linguist.

So, Laura Roberts, what/who inspired you to become a writer?
* Before I wanted to become a writer, I always enjoyed reading, and tore through my local library reading just about every book in the place. I suppose my first inspirations to become a writer came from reading humorous stories by Roald Dahl and Shel Silverstein’s wacky poetry, as both of them incorporated the bizarre and the fantastic into everyday life. Eventually I had some encouraging teachers at school, including a rather crazy high school English teacher who told me I would one day make use of his grammar lessons as a published author. I finally went to college to study creative writing, where I also served as the Literary Arts Editor for the school newspaper and started my own literary magazine. After graduation I began writing a column for the local paper, and I’ve been writing professionally ever since.

When did you attempt your first story? What length was it? What's become of it?
* Some of the earliest stories I remember writing were collaborations with my best friend, Jenna, in grade school. We did modern-day variations of different fairy tales and ancient Greek myths, including a take on the Three Little Pigs entitled “The Three Punk Piggies.” In it, the pigs were actually the villains, picking on a nerdy wolf and planting fake fur at the crime scenes in an attempt to incriminate him. I suspect the entire story was only about 1,000 words or so, and I have no idea what’s become of it, but Jenna may still have a copy somewhere in her archives. I’ve actually been thinking about updating that story for 2014, and giving it a dirty twist to make it a kind of fractured erotic fairy tale, so I guess there’s really no telling what might happen to your juvenilia in the end.

How many stories did you complete before you sold your first?
* I think the first story I sold was for a grand total of $5, but I do know I had several other short stories published in various unpaid markets before that. So I guess I would say about a dozen or so, although I’ve never really kept track of that! I think part of it is because I know that I will write whether or not I’m paid to do so, and I have to agree with Cory Doctorow’s notion that the biggest problem for writers these days is being discovered by readers. The more you can just get your work in front of readers, the better. And while getting paid to do that is nice, it’s not the only reason to publish – or to write.

What are the best and worst pieces of writing advice you ever received?
* The best piece of advice I’ve received is the motto of the Book In A Week writing group, which is “BIC HOK TAM.” That’s an acroynm that means “Butt In Chair, Hands On Keys, Typing Away Madly.” It’s really the only way to get any work done on a consistent basis.
* The worst advice I’ve ever received is probably to write to a specific word limit every day. I find I write a lot better when I have a different type of goal in mind, like finishing a chapter, sketching out a scene, or even just creating an outline. It’s not about the number of words, but about getting something important down on paper. It doesn’t have to be perfect, or even good, but it has to get out of my head and onto the computer.

The book you’re promoting, is it a stand-alone story or part of a series?
* Naked Montreal is what I call a serial novel, where Naked Montreal: Sex and the Underground City is part one in the series. I’ve also published part two, entitled Naked Montreal: Porn Stars and Peccadillos, and I’m currently working on part three, which doesn’t yet have a subtitle. Part one introduces readers to the world of Francesca “Frankie” Parker, my narrator who is a sexy tour guide in Montreal. She’ll show you around all the naughtier parts of the city, like the strip clubs and sex shops, absinthe parlors and places where you can eat sushi off a live nude girl. Part two continues her adventures, with lots of colorful characters exploring their own particular fetishes.

What sparked the idea for the story/series?
* The idea for Naked Montreal comes from the time I spent writing a sex column in Montreal. It was called “V for Vixen,” and was more of a series of personal essays than the typical Q&A-style sex column, so I did a lot of research and spoke to lots of interesting people in the city who either perform sex work for a living or are peripherally related to that sphere. I got to meet burlesque dancers, sex shop owners, indie porn producers, and lots of other folks who got my creative engine revved up. While the column I wrote was nonfictional, it also gave me a lot of ideas for my short fiction, and so I started writing them down and trying to figure out how to compile them together. Eventually it occurred to me that there ought to be a tour guide to the Underground City as the connecting theme, and Frankie sashayed into my life on her stiletto heels to do the job. (And, in case you were wondering, I’ve also collected my columns into another book, called The Vixen Files: Naughty Notes from a Montreal Sex Columnist, which you can also find on Amazon.)

*** Now for some fun info… ***
Would you/have you own(ed) a snake or some other exotic pet?
* I’ve never owned any particularly exotic pets, unless you count an orange Persian that my family had when I was growing up. I’m pretty big on cats (I currently have two – Ned and Percy), but I think if I had enough space for owning some larger exotic pets I’d like to own a llama or two. They seem like they’d be pretty hilarious to have around, and if I learned how to make yarn, I could knit a lot of my own clothes from their wool.

Which do you prefer: rain or sun & warm weather or cold weather?
* I’m probably the only weirdo on the planet who’s going to say she prefers colder weather, but I did get used to those crazy Montreal winters. There’s something kind of romantic about cuddling up under a down comforter, or staying inside wrapped up in a cozy sweater and drinking coffee while you pound away on your latest masterpiece. I definitely prefer trying to slog through a bunch of snow to navigating a rainstorm, although you certainly have to have the right kind of clothes either way. So isn’t it funny that I currently live in southern California, where it never ever snows? (I blame my husband; he wanted to live near the ocean and escape the cold.)

If you could live anywhere in the universe, where would it be and why?
* I’d really like to live in Europe, where you can decide you need a change of scenery, hop on a train, and be in a totally different country in a couple of hours. I like the European attitude toward food and drink, where it’s not just about getting a huge pile of food for cheap, but trying to get the best possible ingredients and treating them with care. Plus they have amazing coffee and chocolate, which are two of my favorite things. I’m leaning towards Italy, although I’d be happy with just about any country in the EU.

If you were stranded on a desert island and were only allowed to have five modern conveniences with you, what would they be?
* Hmm. How modern are we talking? I mean, running water is a must. And something to cook with, of course. Does this include futuristic technology? Because what I’d really like is one of those kajiggers from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy that detects what you’re craving and makes it for you. Barring that, I suppose a stovetop would suffice. I would definitely want some electricity and internet access so I could email for help – although with all those spam messages claiming they’re from your best friend who’s lost her passport in China and please send money ASAP, I suppose they might go unheeded. This “desert island” sure is looking like an island getaway at this point, so I may as well go for broke and insist on a butler, to buttle. I’d make him fetch me plenty of cocktails to keep me calm while I wait to be rescued, and put him to work building some suitable clothing like a coconut bra and palm leaf skirt. I mean, a girl’s got to look good even when she’s been shipwrecked, am I right?

*** About Laura Roberts’ book ***

* Business is pleasure for Francesca “Frankie” Parker, Montreal’s go-to guide for all things seductive in the Underground City. “Sexy Tourism for Canada’s Fetish Capital” is what her card promises, and mon ami, she delivers. So toss the travel pamphlets and enjoy your tour as Frankie leads you deep into the Sin City of the North and all your wildest fantasies. If you haven’t developed a fetish yet, don’t worry – by the time Frankie bids you adieu, you may have a hard time choosing a favorite!

* My date for tonight, an overstuffed businessman with slicked-back hair in a greasy little ponytail and a vaguely Bronx accent, is so chuffed to be here with a beautiful woman that he's practically salivating over my white flesh, my smooth black hair, my pouty red lips.
* Little does he realize, I'm just the appetizer. The main course is on her way, ready to beat him into submission. She goes by the name Lady Evelyn, but I've never seen any evidence of her title's origins. I keep getting texts from her that say she's on her way, which usually means she'll be fifteen minutes late. I've got to keep the Catch wriggling on the line for a few more minutes, until she shows.
* I finally receive a text from Lady Evelyn announcing her arrival, and swiftly draw our meal to a close as the Consultant inhales the last bits of mungfish left on the plate. I casually gesture for the check, and he signs off on our decadent feast with a look of pure evil in his eyes. I stand up, as if headed for the ladies' room.
* “Meet me in back in five minutes,” I whisper in his ear.
* His eyes widen, and a smirk creeps across his face. Showtime.

A Look At Benjamin W. DeHaven & 'Confessions of a Self-Help Writer' @ben_dehaven @GoddessFish #satire

Today we have author Benjamin W. DeHaven visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* A Graduate of Columbia College in Chicago, Benjamin DeHaven keeps his heart in Chicago and his soul in New Orleans. He holds a MBA from Tulane and a film degree from Columbia. Once ejected from a community college for arguing Frost cried out for acceptance in Birches, he has since written screenplays, traded futures in Madrid, and was Editor in Chief of the Nola Shopper Newspaper, a free art newspaper and the 2nd largest monthly paper in the New Orleans, MSA. He also has a "shout out" in a Jay "Z" Song.
* DeHaven, who currently resides in Las Vegas began his writing career with Stone United, a Chicago based Film Company, which works primarily in independent film. As an unknown fiction writer, he feels the best description of himself, is a sarcastic one and is as follows:
* Benjamin W. DeHaven was born on a pool table after a Waylon Jennings' concert in 1977. His personal success is outweighed only by his stunning good looks and adherence to unwritten moral guidelines. He has been described as a thinking man's Tucker Max as well as an idiot's Hunter S. Thompson. His goal is to die from an unwavering commitment to be more like Hemingway.
* He and Michael Enzo were friends.

What are you going to tell us about today?
* I'm offering some writing tips and sharing information about my book Confessions of a Self-Help Writer.
* Writing tips:
* Hire a great editor. Commit to write on a schedule like you are going to a job. Because you are. Find a book you hate and read genres you never would consider-never stop learning everything you can. Don’t ask, why is Danielle Steele selling a million books, she’s a terrible writer. Is She? Is Tucker Max a writer? They have sold a ton of books. Write and read what blows your hair back, but don’t be scared to write trash either. Tucker Max and Danielle sell a ton of books, because passion comes through a writer’s hand. Sure the writing is terrible, but it grabs people. It’s not all heaving bosoms and creamy thighs-(Howard Fast’s wife gave me that line). Something in those books keeps readers coming back. Something in there spoke to someone’s soul and if you are honest with yours it will come through. Find your own voice because you would be surprised how many people think exactly like you and wish they had the strength to tell a story. Don’t read books on writing—they are just another way for you to avoid work. That’s not entirely true, I think Stephen King’s book is amazing-just don’t over do it. The best tip I can give you is what my grandfather used to say to me, regardless of my new crazy passion was. He’d ask, “What’s stopping you?”
* From DeHaven's website: Confessions of a Self-Help Writer (The Journal of Michael Enzo) is a work of fiction based on factual events. Originally, I wrote this work as an act of revenge and an act of forgiveness. As one reviewer put it, “The reader of “Confessions” is forced to question DeHaven’s motivation... Does he truly want to ruin Enzo’s legacy or is this an act of love? Reaching out to someone who is still lost.” So in a way, yes, I was trying to flush him out. But that was personal and never meant to be publicized. I hoped people would get a great laugh out of the fiction character who was a con man, and who almost destroyed me. But now if someone found the truth, maybe this would be the last self-help book they would ever read-because it’s the mind of a mad man who was writing those books. Confessions of a Self-Help Writer was the #1 Most Wished For Book of the Year on Indie Bound for over 14 weeks and was getting amazing reviews as a book of “fiction.”

* A ghost, a philanthropist, a con man, a devout Catholic, a gigolo, a savior, an heir, a common man, and an addict are just some of the words used to describe Michael Enzo, who some sources credit with ghost-writing more than 108 self-help books on behalf of celebrities, politicians and business leaders. After failing to make what he considered to be a positive impact on society he began to destroy those closest to him including Benjamin DeHaven, the author of this book, and former collaborator. Defrauding an industry for almost 20 years by exploiting people's insecurities and profiting from them, more than likely these friends contributed more to the field of self-help, while profiting from it, than they will ever know. Believing they could only understand people's problems by suffering along with them, they lived on the razor's edge. If you've ever picked up a tell-all biography of a celebrity or a title from the self-help section at the bookstore, certainly you would question the source. This is an inside look at the mind of Michael Enzo and it is the author's hope that people will start helping themselves again after reading it. Discover what turns someone from preaching salvation towards seeking its destruction. You won't believe this could be true.

Today we have author Jacey Holbrand visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Jacey Holbrand believes love comes in all forms and should be celebrated. She’s committed to her muse and writing so she can share those kinds of stories with readers. Hot days. Sexy nights. Come play in her world.
* Jacey loves to hear from readers! eMail her: JaceyHolbrand@gmail.com

What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
* My sci-fi, futuristic, male/male story, with steampunk elements, The Gathering. It's the first in a series called The Glorious Guild of Lady Windsurfer.

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
* I originally wrote this story for Evernight's Planet Alpha series. It didn't fit the series, but they offered me a R & R, so I re-worked the story into what it is now.

Describe the hero in five words.
* Alexander: charming, sexy, commanding, romantic, alien

Describe the second hero in five words.
* Jake: smart, caring, funny, sexy, human

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* Nicola. She's spunky. Plus, if it weren't for her, Alexander and Jake may not have met.

What's your favorite line in the story?
* 'They were now two beings with loving spirits entwined forever by a special bond.'

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
The year is 2112, and the world has changed…
* Jake Landry is interested in having some fun. He’s in Las Vegas, newly single and just off his most recent tour of duty. In Vegas he has met up with his old friend Nicola Goodheart, a scientist and inventor who studies portals, other worlds, and strange beings. Jake has also met and become enamored with Alexander, a gorgeous man with violet eyes. Jake goes with Nic on a portal finding mission, and they all end up in Alexander’s alien world.
* Recruiter Alexander Bloodworth is interested in Jake for himself and in Nicola for placement in a pleasure house on his home planet of Aurath. When he hears word one of his people’s enemies are after Nicola and Jake, he goes to save them both, even at the peril of losing his job.
* Will they risk their hopes and dreams—Alexander and Jake for a chance at love and Nicola for her career—or will they falter and lose everything anyway?
Be Warned: m/m sex
~ Excerpt ~
* “Frottage?”
* Pleased the color started to return to Alexander’s skin, Jake smiled and rubbed Alexander’s arm, loving the way his brow knit together when he became perplexed. “It’s also known as dry humping or sex without penetration. We can rub and grind on each other to achieve an orgasm. It’ll get us over the hump.” He chuckled. “No pun intended. It’ll get us by until we’re where we have access to protection.”
* “Sounds acceptable to me.” Alexander captured Jake’s mouth in another kiss and the only time he stopped kissing him was to pull Jake’s shirt over his head.
* They mimicked each other’s touches—running their hands up each other’s smooth chests, tracing the dips and curves of their muscles, enticing nipples. When Alexander latched onto one of Jake’s hard nubs, Jake sucked in a stream of air. Alexander’s lips on his body were like heaven and hell. Heaven because their silky touch sent delightful vibes through him, and hell because whenever Alexander trailed down toward his pulsing cock, he didn’t take it in his mouth or lick or kiss it.
* “Come on, Alexander. Quit teasing me.”
* “What do you want me to do? I want to hear it. Tell me.”
* Alexander’s rumbling commands sent more heat racing through Jake’s veins and down into his cock. Jake didn’t know his dick could get harder than it already was, but it had. He gazed straight into the alien’s stormy purple eyes. “I want you, Alexander. I want you to take me in that beautiful mouth of yours. I want you to suck me dry.”
* The alien rose from the couch and towered over Jake before he dropped to his knees in front of him. Alexander reached out and grabbed the top of Jake’s pants, then yanked them down and off his body. Jake’s cock stood, bobbing to and fro as he resettled on the couch.
* “Spread your legs, Jake.”
