* “Yes. I thought I was supposed to meet Mr. Lomonte today, but when he didn’t show up I—”
* “What do you mean, he didn’t show up? He left this morning at seven for the inspection.”
* “I’m sorry,” Mark said. “He never showed up at the site.”
* Dread suddenly flooded Joseph’s body. He knew, instantly, something was terribly wrong.

First, what would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Elizabeth Monvey is the pseudonym for a single mother from Los Angeles. She writes manlove stories, where the hero meets the man of his dreams because happily ever after is one of her favorite things.

What are you going to tell us about today?
* My gay, shifter story, My Pregnant Boyfriend.
* Thank you so much for letting me visit and talk about my new novella, My Pregnant Boyfriend. My editor suggested that male pregnancy stories were popular but authors seemed to have a difficult time with writing such a story line, but being the outgoing, open minded person that I am I thought "Why not?"
* Of course, I had to think a believable reason how a man might get pregnant. I didn't even think of the alien way (my friend Jacey Holbrand came up with a fabulous story about that! Look out for Breeding Seth in January from Evernight.). Instead, I turned to a shifter story, with the idea that nature always finds a way to survive. Nature adapts, changes, so I thought, why wouldn't it do the same with animals?
* I began to research extinct animal races and came across an interesting species called Homotherium. They were a type of scimitar toothed cat (saber tooth) that died out abruptly about ten thousand years ago, about the same time that humans began to cultivate the land. I thought that was an interesting coincidence. Also, it's rare to find full skeletons of the cats. My imagination soared.
* I came up with Peter, on the run from a hunter, and the last of his kind. Instead of fighting, he's learned to run and hide, but the hunter is relentless and hunts him almost to the point of death. He's saved by Ethan, a cougar shifter, and the two find an instant attraction.
* I had a wonderful time writing My Pregnant Boyfriend. I'm interested in writing more mpreg stories so any feedback would be great!

A look into the story

~ Blurb ~ * Ethan Rushton can’t believe his eyes when he discovers the type of shifter of shifter he’s saved from a hunter. The long incisors hanging out the mouth, the sloped hindquarters…it’s a saber tooth cat come to life.
* Peter Neren’s been running his whole life. For ten thousand years his species has been a secret but now he is the last of his kind. He doesn’t know if he can trust Ethan, but he’s got to try because it’s time to take a stand.
* Their attraction is instant, and once they act on their passions nature has found a way to ensure the survival of the species…leaving Peter pregnant. He will do anything to protect his unborn cub, and so will Ethan, even if that means becoming bait to hunt down the man trying to kill them both.
Be Warned: mpreg, m/m sex ~ Excerpt ~ * The hunter backed away and pulled a nine-millimeter gun from the holster on his belt. He leveled the barrel at the injured cat. Ethan’s protective instinct came rushing to the forefront and he had to rein in his base desire to attack. He moved to stand in front of the injured animal, shielding him with his own body. The whup-whup-whup of helicopter blades filled the air, and a second later, a small black personal chopper landed expertly in the clearing.
* “I found him once and I’ll find him again,” the hunter said. “And now I’ll find you as well.”
* “The next time we meet, I will kill you,” Ethan vowed.
* The man sneered and continued to back away, gun pointed steadily at Ethan’s chest. He was fast but even his cougar couldn’t outrun a bullet and he had no plans to die today. Besides, he needed to help the bleeding cat behind him. Ethan didn’t move until the helicopter was nothing more than a blip on the horizon, and then he turned and hurried over to the injured animal.
* The animal hadn’t passed out since he was still in shifter form, but one look at the face had Ethan stumbling back in shock. This wasn’t a cougar or lynx or a bobcat. In fact, the cat shouldn’t even exist. His mouth lay open, panting, with serrated upper canines longer than those of any living cat. The incisors and lower canines formed a powerful jaw that Ethan knew could be a vicious gripping weapon. They were teeth he’d never seen before except in a museum…as a skeleton.
* “You’re…you’re a saber tooth,” he whispered, awe getting the better of him. The cat let out a small growl. “I’m not going to hurt you. But…Christ! Look at you.”
* The cat’s coat was grey with white spots, his tail short, almost stubbly, and had the limb appearance of a hyena, elongated forelegs and rather squat hindquarters. With rare extremities like that, the cat’s back would slope, which accounted for the odd tracks.
* “You’re supposed to be extinct,” Ethan murmured. “How the hell are you real?”

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I’ve traveled back and forth across the US about five times, so I use a lot of my experiences and observations in my stories. I must admit I prefer the west coast because I love the warmth of Southern California and the misty magic of the Pacific Northwest.

What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
* “My Alien Boyfriend” was just released through Evernight Publishing and is part of the My Boyfriend Is… series. It’s book three, but they don’t have to be read in order. They are all stand alone Romance on the Go stories, which means they are short and down-right sexy! All the books are around 30-40 pages, just long enough to get your erotica romance fix at lunch or go to bed with pleasant dreams.
* The books are: My Werewolf Boyfriend (Book 1), My Vampire Boyfriend (Book 2), My Alien Boyfriend (Book 3). Coming Soon is My Ghostly Boyfriend (Book 4), and I’m working on book 5 right now.

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
* The drive between LA and Las Vegas is about five hours, and the turning of the wheels can be monotonous. I come up with a lot of ideas when I’m driving because I don’t have any distractions like Facebook. On one of these trips I came up with the idea of My Werewolf Boyfriend, and the title just evolved into different story lines.

Describe the hero in five words.
* Mace Smith: Alien, compassionate, curious, loves Parker.

Describe the second hero in five words.
* Parker Iwata: Human, in love, proud, strong

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* Hmm…that’s tough. I love both characters. Maybe Mace because he’s willing to give up his happiness to make sure Parker lives. I love the strength of love, and there’s nothing as strong as sacrifice.

What's your favorite line in the story?
* Parker tells Mace, “I guess I’ll be your alien boyfriend now.”

What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
* Dark Rider is a stand-alone book that may have a sequel at some point in the future. It’s a M/M/M fantasy piece and I got inspiration from some of my favorite fantasy authors, namely Lynn Flewelling and Judith Tarr.

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
* This story is part of a larger book I wrote years ago. I decided to chop it down for Evernight Publishing’s Planet Alpha series, but it was turned down. They did offer me a contract on it as a fantasy story, so I quickly agreed since it had been written that way originally.

Describe hero #1 in five words.
* Cax: Mercenary, dedicated, strong, focused, sexy

Describe the hero #2 in five words.
* Hark: confused, angry, frustrated, in love

Ménage/multiple partners - hero #3 describe in five words.
* Alisander: servant, loyal, loves both men

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* I’m very partial to Cax. I loved making up the Mercenary Guild. He’s slightly mysterious, world weary, and ruthless.

What's your favorite line in the story?
* I think it would have to be this one: “Destiny has many hands, Ali, and yours is an easy fit. Take the one it dealt you.” This book is fate verses life, and both Alisander and Hark want to rebel against the hand given to them. Once Cax says this to Alisander, his attitude changes, and then that bleeds into Hark’s.

A look into the story

~ Blurb ~ * When Lord Hark is stabbed, his uncle, the Govenor of Eyvindar, hires a Mercenary to protect his heir. Hark resents having a babysitter but when he meets Cax he’s unprepared for the spark of attraction between them.
* Cax is a Mercenary, living by the code of his Guild. He is hired to protect Hark, even though it seems Hark’s biggest enemy is himself as he drowns in moon-ivy wine every day. But Cax can’t deny his attraction to the warrior, nor can he deny his attraction to Hark’s loyal servant, Alisander.
* Alisander has been by Hark’s side almost his whole life. He is in love with him, but when he meets Cax he sees a future away from the servant life he’s been confined to.
* They are from different aspects in life but manage to find love. Yet they need to discover the threat moving in on Hark, before it’s too late. ~ Excerpt ~ * Hark held open his arms, and Alisander started removing the sash and belt from around Hark's waist.
* "You need to apologize."
* “Don’t start again, Ali. You’ve had sex with him.”
* Alisander kept his eyes on his task and didn’t answer. “Is that any of your business?”
* Hark stopped him. Alisander looked up at him with those sky blue eyes of his, and Hark felt the punch all the way to his soul. “Yes, it is.”
* And this time, Alisander really looked at him, perhaps for the first time in all their years together.
* “Lord—”
* “No,” Hark said, shaking his head. “If I’m going to lose you then at least call me by my name.”
* “Hark,” Alisander said softly.

* Hark reached out and traced a finger over his smooth skin. “Ali.”

* Hark placed a finger over his mouth. “I’ve always wanted you. I just can’t have you. I don’t want you to leave my side, but I know it’s selfish of me to hold you back from something better.”

..Kang Jin-Pyoo, what would you like to tell readers about yourself?
......* My name is Kang Jin-Pyoo, but everyone calls me Jin. I was born in Seoul, South Korea but my father was a businessman with many ties to the Untied States, so most of my education was in America. When I was young I began to ski and my father saw promise, so I began training at age ten with the idea of winning Olympic Gold.
......* Although I was one of the fastest Alphine skiers in the world, my Olympic dreams have been less than stellar. I missed qualifying for the South Korean ski team for the Torino games. I finished in the top ten at the Vancouver games. And then, at Sochi, I crashed out in the heats.
......* I have been in a secret relationship with Tolliver St. James for two years. Tolliver owns one of the best skiing resorts in Vail. I don’t know what would happen if or when my father and my sponsor finds out that I’m gay.

..Are you happy with the way people perceive you?
......* No, not really. To the world I’m a great athlete, an Alpine skier. An Olympian. I’m proud of my accomplishment, but truthfully, it’s not who I really want to be. I just want to be happy with Tolliver.

..Is expressing love difficult for you?
......* Yes, and no. Yes, because of my father. He’s very traditional, believes family honor comes before everything. Behind closed doors I show great amounts of love but Tolliver wants more and it’s hard for me to open up when the door is open.

..What’s your take on Tolliver St. James?
......* Tolliver is a smart, charismatic businessman. He was able to take his family’s small ski resort and build it up to the premiere skiing destination in Vail. That takes a lot of hard work. But there’s a fun side to him as well. He may work hard but he plays hard too, and I love going for long ski rides with him by my side.

..Where do you see yourself in the future? What do you hope to accomplish?
......* Hmm…hopefully I will be with Tolliver. I hope to have an Olympic medal to distinguish my career and hard work. I hope…well, I suppose I want what everybody wants. I just hope to be happy.

Jin knew Tol worked out every morning, as well as skied on the weekends to give his body tone and definition. He was what some people would call a bear man, and Jin never thought he’d be attracted to such bulk, but every time Tol touched him it was like fireworks exploding.
......* He opened his mouth to say something, anything to erase the distance in Tolliver’s eyes, but just as he opened his mouth, Tol reached out and pulled Jin into his arms. The tension that had been building up inside Jin broke and his arms crept around Tolliver to hold on tightly.
