Stephanie Burkhart & 'A Lady Never Lies' @StephBurkhart @GoddessFish #Steampunk #Romance

Today we have author Stephanie Burkhart visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Stephanie Burkhart is a 911 dispatcher for LAPD. She was born and raised in Manchester, New Hampshire. After serving 11 years in the US Army she currently calls Castaic, California her home. Stephanie was married in Denmark in 1991 and has two young sons. She adores chocolate, is addicted to coffee and enjoys early morning walks. She's also an assistant den leader for her son's Cub Scout den and is a Boy Scout mom. She writes paranormal, contemporary, and steampunk romance and has two children's books published with 4RV Publishing.

A look into...

* Jocelyn Dunkirk is not your typical Victorian lady. She dresses in leather, wears goggles and is not afraid to get a little grease under her fingernails. Gentlemen avoid her like a dirty rivet.
* Richard Windsor, the Prince of Wales, travels through time to claim Jocelyn's heart, but if it isn't one challenge, it's another. He determines to be a constant, steady presence in her life, hoping to prove he'd make a worthy husband.
* Jocelyn's facing a bucket full of problems. The Prime Minister wants her to assist in ending a coal strike before it cripples the nation while her father attempts to recover from a serious injury. Will Jocelyn's dedication to her country and family ruin the one chance she has at love?
~ Excerpt ~
* Jocelyn inventoried her belt in case she needed to flash her gizmos and toys to make a point. Her gadgets could be very intimidating to men not used to them. Then she double-checked her schedule. She had the rest of the rain soaked day and tomorrow. She frowned. Better to get it over with. If only the knots in her stomach would subside, but if she learned anything from her father, it was better to tackle a problem sooner rather than later, rain or shine and she was now committed to this one.
* Taking a peek in the mirror over her dresser, she frowned. Her hair was all frizz.
* Grabbing a ribbon from the small container on the dresser, she put it up in a bun. It wasn't her neatest work, but it would do. Satisfied, she raced downstairs, joining Richard and Sergeant Eastman in the foyer.
* "Are you sure you want to go now?" Richard crossed his arms. "You should rest. There are lines under your eyes."
* She waved her hand in the air. "Now's the time to strike -- while the coals are hot or the rain is wet, depending on your point of view."
* Richard placed his hands on his hips and looked her over from head-to-toe.
* Jocelyn pursed her lips. "What now?"
* "You're exasperating, frustrating, infur--" His tone remained light as he helped her into her overcoat.
* "I've heard it all, I assure you. Do you want to stay with your brother?"
* "Not on your life. Ed can keep Mrs. Riddle plenty of company and I don't want to miss out on the adventure of a lifetime."
* She cracked a grin despite herself and flung open the door. Mr. Riddle waited with the horses, protected by a heavy coat. The rain was lighter now, but still steady. Jocelyn hoped it would taper off soon. She grabbed the leather reins, tugged, and the horses trotted away. Unfortunately the driver's seat proved cramped with Richard and Sergeant Eastman both insisting on sitting with her, neither willing to budge.
* The trip proved soggy, but Jocelyn made good time. Mr. Riddle's directions were spot on and Jocelyn's memory hadn't failed her. She turned onto Rosewood, avoided a puddle and spied a long, brick building with grey smoke spitting out of the chimneys. Jocelyn parked the carriage next to the stoic façade and her companions helped her secure the horses to the hitching posts. Jocelyn extended her brass and iron umbrella, up to her ankles in mud. Once the horses were tied up, Jocelyn approached the entrance. She grabbed the iron knocker, and pounded on the door. Richard and Sergeant Eastman stood on each side.
* "I hear ya!" a gruff voice said, pushing the unwieldy door open. "Who might you be?" He gasped for breath between yellow stained teeth and narrowed his dark eyes, giving her the once over. Thank the rivets her overcoat hid most of her unusual dress.
* "I'm Lady Jocelyn Ridgecroft. The prime minister sent me to meet with the miners regarding the coal strike."
* "You're a day early."
* "I've had a change of plans."

* Lady Keira Russell is destined to bring compressed natural gas to Britain. Her inner courage and mental toughness rarely falter – except when Prince Edmund Windsor is involved.
* Edmund of Wales is from the future. His last jaunt through history muffed up the time line. Now, he's here to set it straight and win Keira's heart.
* For Keira, if it isn't one obstacle, it's another. Queen Victoria has sponsored a competition to find a cleaner fuel source than coal. Keira's father is trying to build a windmill and the Ridgecrofts are working with gasoline. Then there's Edmund, whose sensual kisses and heated stares distract her down to her bones.
* Keira has a choice: trust Edmund's notorious mischief-making or put her faith in Queen Victoria to make the right decision, but if Keira makes the wrong choice, the future of Great Britain will be changed forever.
~ Excerpt ~
* Richard pursed his lips.
* "All right, then. I have orders to take you, Alice, Grayson, and Jonas back immediately."
* "That ought to be fun -- especially Jonas. He's helping Keira's father build a windmill."
* "Petrol and electricity are the future."
* Edmund grimaced.
* "No, they aren't. Alice and I tried to tell you -- Keira's compressed natural gas powers our future."
* His voice filled with conviction.
* "Ever since we were children--"
* "History changed when Grayson came with Alice. He's here to fix it now."
* Keira held up her hands.
* "Now, boys, let's not raise our voices. I have a feeling you've had this conversation before and came to no resolution."
* "That's true," Edmund conceded.
* Richard nodded.
* Edmund glared at his brother.
* "I'm not leaving. Alice and I have every intention of setting history straight."
* Richard sighed.
* "Besides, the only way to get back to the future is for us to warm our coin necklaces in our hands. You can't do that for us."
* "Ever heard of an override switch?"
* "No." Edmund's eyes narrowed. He didn't like the sound of that.
* "Professor Byron gave me one."
* A sinking feeling descended into the pit of his stomach.
* "What other tricks do you have up your sleeve?"
* "That's telling."
* Exasperated, Edmund raked a hand through his hair.
* "Think this through, Richard. No, better yet -- listen to your instincts."
* His brother chuckled.
* "What's so funny?"
* "I had an interesting conversation about instincts today with Jocelyn."
* Keira tilted her head slightly, a curious expression crossing her face.
* "Do you know Jocelyn well?"
* "I'm staying with the Dunkirks."
* "I can't imagine Lord Ridgecroft meeting the suitable test with his goggles and cigars," said Edmund.
* "Actually, I find Jocelyn and her father very refreshing."
* "So, Richard, what are you going to do?" Edmund asked.

An Exclusive Excerpt fr. Laura Strickland & 'Dead Handsome: A Buffalo Steampunk Adventure' @GoddessFish #steampunk

Today we have author Laura Strickland visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Born in Buffalo and raised on the Niagara Frontier, Laura Strickland has been an avid reader and writer since childhood. To her the spunky, tenacious, undefeatable ethnic mix that is Buffalo spells the perfect setting for a little Steampunk, so she created her own Victorian world there. She knows the people of Buffalo are stronger, tougher and smarter than those who haven’t survived the muggy summers and blizzard blasts found on the shores of the mighty Niagara. Tough enough to survive a squad of automatons? Well, just maybe.

What are you going to tell us about today?
* My steampunk romance story: Dead Handsome: A Buffalo Steampunk Adventure.

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
* Clara Allen needs a husband in order to keep a roof over the heads of her assorted dependents, a roof her nasty grandfather will re-appropriate unless she is married by her 21st birthday, only a few days away. Strong-minded, unwilling to take orders from any man, she decides to solve her problem by raising a murdered prisoner from the dead and marrying him. She expects an empty-headed puppet; she certainly never dreams he’ll be so devastatingly handsome.
* Liam McMahon doesn’t recall much about his life before his hanging in the prison yard, other than being Irish. He does remember the kiss Clara bestowed as she brought him back to life. Every time he looks at her, his desire gets out of hand. But his former life is chasing him down like a steam engine, and when a couple of mad geniuses decide he’d make a fine experiment, he wonders if he’ll live long enough to claim Clara’s heart or if he’ll die all over again.
~ Excerpt -- EXCLUSIVE! ~
* "You will need some clothes." Clara barely knew where to look. With the man upright – at well over six feet in height – he made an impressive sight. No matter where she turned her gaze, it seemed somehow to glimpse his genitals. "My father's clothes will never fit. And yours, from the jail, are fit only for burning."
* He tipped his head to one side and the dark hair, very nearly black, slid against his bruised neck like silk. He wore it long and it held a gleam like the wing of a blackbird. More dark hair clustered on his chest and trailed downward to the nest of curls at his –
* Blast, she'd looked there again.
* Georgina suggested, "Your father's old robe, maybe? Something – something to cover –"
* Was Georgina's gaze drawn there too? Almost impossible to avoid it. He had an impressive set of equipment.
* "Yes," Clara said gratefully, "go and fetch the robe, Georgina, if you will."
* Georgina fled and silence fell. The subject still held the pistol casually, dangling from one finger, and they faced each other with the worktable between.
* "So you've a father, then," he said abruptly. He raised his hand to rub at his throat, explored the abrasions there. "Does he know what you get up to?"
* Clara shook her head. "He's deceased."
* Again, something flickered in his eyes. It was as if she could sense his emotions on some visceral level.
* "Ah." His gaze moved over her, head to toe, in a minute examination. "And how is it you can bring anyone back to life at all?"

An Interview with Charm from 'Charmed' @JaceyHolbrand @evernightpub #menage #sci-fi #futuristic

Today we have Charm visiting from the story Charmed. Welcome!

So Charm, what would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* I'm an Earth female who'd been looking for a way to get off of the dying planet but not having much luck. I tried to get a job in the casinos a couple of times, but they turned me down, so I was still stuck working for an unethical trader who wanted to sell me off to a horrilbe alien. Being a smart, sassy and innovative chick, I wasn't going to put up with that, so I left. That's when I literally dove into my men's lives and our story starts.

Did your author ever try to take over the story? If so, how did you deal with it?
* No. She was quite good letting us tell our tale, though there had to be some shifting around after it was accepted since it'd been written for a specific line and didn't fit that line. But that's okay. It came out more splendid in the end than it had been.

What was the best sexual experience you’ve had?
* It's a tie between having sex behind the waterfall and having sex during the commitment ceremony.

If you could time travel and/or live anywhere in the world, where would you go and/or where would that be?
* Once upon a time, I would have said I'd go anywhere as long as it got me off Earth. Now? I don't want to go anywhere. I'm quite happy where I am with my new family.

Now for some author information!
* My author is Jacey Holbrand. Jacey believes love comes in all forms and should be celebrated. She’s committed to her muse and writing so she can share those kinds of stories with readers.
* Hot days. Sexy nights. Come play in her world.

* Charm knows how to get what she wants, but when faced with opposition, she tends to make bad choices. After a plan to subdue a Rullix goes wrong, Charm forces her way into two Auraths’ lives. They have a ship after all and can help her escape Earth and the Rullix.
* Step-brothers, Thorne and Wade, are discussing Earth and mates when Charm dives into their presence. Each man believes her to be the partner he’s been waiting for. The men allow her passage in their spaceship, but are shot down by the Rullix and crash in a canyon.
* Charm finds them sanctuary, yet even in the middle of nowhere, she still gets into trouble. Thorne and Wade have to figure out how to travel to Aurath before Charm’s bad choices lead to their demise.
~ Excerpt ~
* “Tell me again why we left the comforts of the room at the hotel and are here at this detestable little dive, breakfasting al fresco? Could we not have stayed with our ship while the mechanic tries to figure out what is wrong with it?”
* Thorne Tyril peered over the large sheet of paper that stated the news of the month for the city humans called Las Vegas. He’d bought it down at the hotel and casino on the Strip before they limped their ship to the mechanic’s warehouse. His stepbrother, Wade, narrowed a grey eyed gaze in his direction. Thorne smiled at his family member, refusing to accept Wade’s negativity. “For one, we are not engine mechanics. We are developers of ideas. We are warriors. As for why we are sitting here, it is near the repair shop that was recommended to us, and I was hungry.”
* “Hungry,” Wade scoffed. “You just wanted to observe the humans again. I do not understand your compulsion to learn about their cultures. Once we each find our mates, their pasts will not be of consequence. They will become Aurath.”
* “You are correct on all accounts. You forget, though, I told you before we left Aurath and again as we left Little Italy in New York. I have a feeling my mate and yours will appear. I am certain.”
* “You have said as much many times.” Wade flipped the hood of his brown cloak off his bald head, scratched a spot behind one of his pointy ears and then moved the hood to cover himself again. He smoothed his hand over the white, but sand covered table cloth. Brushing off his fingers, his brow furrowed. “Yet, here we are. Still mateless. Suffering in the infernal heat inside this valley’s fenced communal.” His gaze jerked away from Thorne’s as his nose scrunched. “Oh, good God. What now?”

A Look At Jacey Holbrand & 'The Gathering' @JaceyHolbrand @evernightpub #gay #scifi #erotic

Today we have author Jacey Holbrand visiting. Welcome!

What would you like to tell readers about yourself?
* Jacey Holbrand believes love comes in all forms and should be celebrated. She’s committed to her muse and writing so she can share those kinds of stories with readers. Hot days. Sexy nights. Come play in her world.
* Jacey loves to hear from readers! eMail her: JaceyHolbrand@gmail.com

What book are you going to tell us about today? Is it part of a series? If so, what's the order the books should be read in?
* My sci-fi, futuristic, male/male story, with steampunk elements, The Gathering. It's the first in a series called The Glorious Guild of Lady Windsurfer.

How'd you/your muse come up with this story?
* I originally wrote this story for Evernight's Planet Alpha series. It didn't fit the series, but they offered me a R & R, so I re-worked the story into what it is now.

Describe the hero in five words.
* Alexander: charming, sexy, commanding, romantic, alien

Describe the second hero in five words.
* Jake: smart, caring, funny, sexy, human

Who's your favorite character in the book & why?
* Nicola. She's spunky. Plus, if it weren't for her, Alexander and Jake may not have met.

What's your favorite line in the story?
* 'They were now two beings with loving spirits entwined forever by a special bond.'

A look into the story
~ Blurb ~
The year is 2112, and the world has changed…
* Jake Landry is interested in having some fun. He’s in Las Vegas, newly single and just off his most recent tour of duty. In Vegas he has met up with his old friend Nicola Goodheart, a scientist and inventor who studies portals, other worlds, and strange beings. Jake has also met and become enamored with Alexander, a gorgeous man with violet eyes. Jake goes with Nic on a portal finding mission, and they all end up in Alexander’s alien world.
* Recruiter Alexander Bloodworth is interested in Jake for himself and in Nicola for placement in a pleasure house on his home planet of Aurath. When he hears word one of his people’s enemies are after Nicola and Jake, he goes to save them both, even at the peril of losing his job.
* Will they risk their hopes and dreams—Alexander and Jake for a chance at love and Nicola for her career—or will they falter and lose everything anyway?
Be Warned: m/m sex
~ Excerpt ~
* “Frottage?”
* Pleased the color started to return to Alexander’s skin, Jake smiled and rubbed Alexander’s arm, loving the way his brow knit together when he became perplexed. “It’s also known as dry humping or sex without penetration. We can rub and grind on each other to achieve an orgasm. It’ll get us over the hump.” He chuckled. “No pun intended. It’ll get us by until we’re where we have access to protection.”
* “Sounds acceptable to me.” Alexander captured Jake’s mouth in another kiss and the only time he stopped kissing him was to pull Jake’s shirt over his head.
* They mimicked each other’s touches—running their hands up each other’s smooth chests, tracing the dips and curves of their muscles, enticing nipples. When Alexander latched onto one of Jake’s hard nubs, Jake sucked in a stream of air. Alexander’s lips on his body were like heaven and hell. Heaven because their silky touch sent delightful vibes through him, and hell because whenever Alexander trailed down toward his pulsing cock, he didn’t take it in his mouth or lick or kiss it.
* “Come on, Alexander. Quit teasing me.”
* “What do you want me to do? I want to hear it. Tell me.”
* Alexander’s rumbling commands sent more heat racing through Jake’s veins and down into his cock. Jake didn’t know his dick could get harder than it already was, but it had. He gazed straight into the alien’s stormy purple eyes. “I want you, Alexander. I want you to take me in that beautiful mouth of yours. I want you to suck me dry.”
* The alien rose from the couch and towered over Jake before he dropped to his knees in front of him. Alexander reached out and grabbed the top of Jake’s pants, then yanked them down and off his body. Jake’s cock stood, bobbing to and fro as he resettled on the couch.
* “Spread your legs, Jake.”
